The beige box on the firewall is the pressure switch to enable to supercharger clutch. Its adjustable. I dunno what your next episode is, but I've got spares for the supercharger if that's what's broken 😅
If the point isn't moot by the time they get in the engine, I gotta wonder if whatever front end damage they had might have destroyed some of the Impul stuff that one assumes would have made the blower actually work right with the motor? (Like maybe some clever air box arrangement and associated sensors. ) If they couldn't replace it in AU, maybe they just yanked it and hoped for the best.

just a bit of information, 'impul' is team impul. they're the same team who have ran the calsonic nissan's (R32s, R33s R34s, 350Zs, R35s, 400Zs) in japanese GT racing for the past 25 years.
The front top support isn't crashed, they are stock from Nissan like that. Heads up that nissan tiida 1.8ltr mr18de bolts into a cube/cubic shell. I did a 6 speed tiida 1.8 conversion years ago and it was fun. Took it from 94hp to 120hp.
And the 1.4 is renowned for overheating.

MR20De is the same motor as the 18, just .2 liter and 20hp more.
Having just moved to Aus, picked up a z12 Cube from a scrap yard and working on fixing it. Never worked on cars before and having been inspired by MCM to give it a go, seeing a cube just appear in your garage has made me super happy! I can't wait to see what you guys do to it to get it working again and what I can learn from your experiences!

My 16 year old son has wanted one of these for ages. He just got his license today. I just sent him this, usually if MCM does a video on an old nugget, those old nuggets go up in value haha. He will have to save a bit more $$$ than expected. Unique cars for sure!
I'm actually a bit bummed you're not gonna keep this one, because it looks absolutely MAAAD! I'm usually not even a big fan of these square-looking cars - although I warmed up to them because of you legends - but the whole blackness and wide body kit really makes it shine! I'm a fan.

Woooo! A Cube! WOOOooo! A Cube CUBIC!! WOOOOOOOO! An IMPUL CUBE CUBIC!!! Those are super rare and totally worth saving. Its a pity that the previous owners have neglected it so damn badly, as there is some really cool JDM goodness here. I wanted a Cube for a long time, especially one with the Autech Black Rider spec (Autech is one of Nissan's tuning houses, IMPUL also has a relationship with Nissan) so I can't wait to see this one getting some love.
We owned a dodge ram van that was imported to NZ from Japan where it was in fact a mobile brothel. It even had a mirror on the ceiling in the back.

I worked for nissan back In the day and went to Japan with work and I always laughed at the cube but once you go in one they are absolutely awesome! They also have a zen interior.... class little tarnished of a car!

Me and my wife own a scion Xb it's exactly the same as the cube and honestly it's a great daily and surprisingly very fun I would suggest it to anybody for a daily car.
Even better, because apparently you can fit the 2GRFE into a Scion

That lil Micra engine is Gutless bro. Ive used a Cube as a Loan car when I had to service my import years ago. They are Zippy up till 60Km/h and nothing later on. Having a Supercharger in that is actually a good idea. It will spin the tyres when you floor it at the lights. But you get all the looks when you drive it. Its quirky and a bit of fun to drive around town.
The engines are ok, its the prehistoric auto box thats the issue. 3 speed with an overdrive. 😄

I own a cube and they honestly so weirdly amazing. So small yet so large it feels like a truck inside. Comfortably seats 6 people with a massive boot. Has such a small turn radius and size it can slide into any parking spot, and gets so many looks from passers by, and has a crazy good fuel economy.
Only complaint is that it can’t accelerate to save its life and every time you take a corner faster than 30kmh it feels you’ll tip over at any second
I agree with most of this, but I maybe I take corners a bit faster than you 😄
The leaf blower video was my first intro to your channel so I'm always cheesing when it gets mentioned - fangin for this car though Cubes have always been a guilty pleasure of mine
We got quite a few Nissan Cubes in Canada but now they're all sitting behind garages because the transmissions have failed.

My wife used to have one of these shitboxes in NZ. Was so slow and horrible but so much fun to live with. Cant drive it without smiling. Good luck boys!
Don't think I've ever seen one of these in Australia. They were everywhere in Japan when I was there 14 years ago and were still pretty common when I was there a year ago.

Really? They are everywhere. Either stanced or a Disable car or some P plater going to work and back. There is a business near my work that has 6 silver cubes as company cars with their business stickers on them.

FINALLY! The Nissan Cube. I've only been waiting 15 years for this episode!
Had a 2004 Cube Cubic, got it back in 2010 and just got rid of it a year ago. For a family of 5, with the 7 seater, it was a perfect family car, during the time I had it, it blew a head gasket, common issue with this engine, so got a replacement engine from a K12 Nissan Micra, straight swap.
Being literally like 17 hours behind Australia time zone sucks. Literally always crawling into bed to see a new video notification 😭😭

Fun fact about the Cube: the C-pillar is always on the same side as the steering wheel and the rear wraparound glass is on the other side to improve visibility in the corner you can actually see when the driver turns their head. So the Cube's exterior styling is actually flipped in various markets depending on LHD/RHD.
I *love* the Nissan Cube, utterly bizarre, weird little JDM rollerskate that could only ever have come out of Japan.
Super chargers were used on ww2 engines like the Merlin - low level engines. High altitude they then looked at turbochargers like the B24 and p47

There'd actually an awesome history with supercharging in the USA pre war and post war. We even had aeroplanes that where superchargered. Then twin charged. Then sole turbo. Hot rodders did heaps with it. It's an amazing Wikipedia late night whirlpool to get into

We had these as work vans for a long time. They were pretty good little nuggets and I kinda miss them.
My Subaru Crosstrek was purchased in used condition. Whenever it was wet outside it smelled like old, wet dog. I wiped down the interior and vacuumed inside, yet the smell persisted. Eventually I removed all of the seats and cleaned out all the dog hair that had collected in the nooks and crannies of the interior, especially under the bench seats. The cushion had collected random liquids as well. Once all that was cleaned up the smell finally went away. Some cleaning jobs you have to go much deeper!
That intake was strategically placed to help with cold starts 🤣
They've released a 4wd in Japan & a 1.5dci version in europe, great car & choice as a daily.
