At 51 diagnosed with MDS/MPN /Jak 2, it's not just an "elderly" disease. Walked into an emergency room with swollen feet, was told my hemoglobin was 4.5.... that was a year and a half ago, preparing for a bone marrow transplant in the next fue months

I was just diagnosed with MDS a few months ago. This was affirmed through a bone marrow biopsy, which was performed because all of my blood counts (except for platelets) were low. Strangely, I've had almost no symptoms so far, even though with my low blood numbers I should be quite sick. Looking at my blood work history, I can see that there's been a slow but steady decrease in my counts (especially the WBC) over the past six years, but a rapid drop after getting the covid shots (shot #1 resulted in my starting a long term illness the next morning... the first long term sickness in my 68 years). I am now basically back to my previous high immunity level, but there are so many questions!
BTW, I have the 5q deletion form of MDS which should make me more responsive to treatment (when they decide to start).
