You can tell the guy really loves that stuff. It's managed pretty well and the yard isn't all over grown. What a great collection.
You hit the nail on the head Joe! He saved all of these from unfortunate fates and they will get a chance to live on with future owners as opposed to rotting away or getting scrapped. This isn't a hoard but rather a well organized and properly stored collection of an avid enthusiast.
@@pookysdad4884 Definition of hoard: "a stock or store of money or valued objects, typically one that is secret or carefully guarded" Yeah, I'd say this qualifies.
@@pookysdad4884 yeah but a profitable hoarde
This place is better than a museum. Kudos to this guy for saving it all from the crusher in an era when it was considered junk.
You nailed it!
This guy is a hero for saving all of those parts and cars.
Truth!
Huge collection doesn't even begin to describe what this fellow has accumulated! I need to show this to my wife next time she says I have to much stuff in my mancave. I could spend all day in a place like this, exploring and listening to the stories behind this stuff!
Let me know what she says!
You’ve found a honey hole right there, and he’s dealing! And a decent human to boot! Great score!
He's a great guy!
@@MortskeRepair wonderful he has the willing to share his parts to builders instead of saving them or selling to re sellers
That was great Mortske. Vintage tin national parks like that are becoming fewer and far between. Most collectors/hoarder's won't sell but it sounds as though he is willing to do so. I could spend weeks there listening and learning. I am impressed with your vast knowledge of vintage parts. That was pretty cool you being able to educate him about how to find out the ratio of the vintage speedo adapters. Duff definitely had a good time. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it Bob!
@@MortskeRepair Never disappointed.
I love the chatter between you two car nuts. I could spend a week going through his stuff and enjoy it more than Disneyland. Great content and Duff had fun too👍 45 dollar 40 Ford with the potty chairs. Had to get a loan from Grandma line cracked me up😀😀😀😃😆 I had to watch this again. To much to take in on one pass!!!!
Haha, lotta great stories there!
Hotrod builder's heaven! Wow!!
He's got a few lifetimes of projects hanging around there. Looks like he could keep Fitzy's Fabrications busy too.
It's quite sad seeing some of those vehicles in some of the states they're in.. but if it wasn't for your man there, they'd have all been "recycled" years ago
Hats off to fellas like that for saving old iron like this from the crusher... once its gone its gone
Yup, he saved all those cars.
Very kind of him to invite you out and to allow you to film at all knowing you’re sharing with us as well out here.
Thank you for your kindness Sherry I was glued to my screen lol .
Thanks for taking us along Mortske 👍
Our pleasure!
@@MortskeRepair And hours getting to watch lol hey man, you and Duff dog. Have a great afternoon.
What a place! Talk about a Field of Dreams!
Press play, hit "like" and drop a comment... Keep up coming! Give Sir Duff an ear scratch for me!
Thanks Trey!! Will do!
I love listening to the old-timers talk . It's a walk through automotive history . Thanks for the tour .
THAT WAS AN AMAZING HONEY HOLE!!! THANKS FOR TAKING US ALONG MORTSKE!!!
Thanks for watching!
@@MortskeRepair You're welcome!
HOLY MORTSKE BATMAN!!! That reminds me of my first trip to toys are us when I was a kid. Incredible collection of everything.👍
What an incredible collection of automotive history, awesomeness for sure. Thanks for taking us along with you.
Thanks for coming along!
What a very cool collection of cars an parts-an ole school dream
Ur crew chief[Duff]reminds me of halfazzed customs crew chief[Pablo]both have more energy than i do
My Dad raced 34 Ford coupes in GA. and Tn. in 1959 thru 62 with full race flatheads and he ran Lincoln Zephyr second gears, He had a hook on the dash and locked second gear . He ran 16 second quarter mile laps on blacktop on Friday night and red Georgia clay on Sat. night. l still have the second gear in his garage, He took it to Pontiac Motors and had the stripped gears welded back and machined like new. Spent August 3rd. 1977 in Minot N.D. It was 100 degrees that day and around 50 that night. l am ready for a road trip to that mans Mecca of old FORDS. Thanks for the awesome video.
Thanks for watching and commenting Mike! Would love to have one of your dads old cars!
NOW THAT IS AN ESTATE SALE I WOULD GOT TOO!
I used to have a Kirby vacuum that had attachments to sand and paint amongst other things. 👍🏻
That's what I came here to post ! you beat me to it!
Kirby was on the cutting edge of their market. That made me laugh when he said he painted that with a vacuum. Who knew!!!😉
Now I need to find one!
I think I was more excited than Duff to see all that stuff, awesome collection! Plenty of flex hoses but where was his mountain of starter motors?
Saved that one for later!
That place was cool if I was there it would be like dying and going to heaven. Graduate 77 from a four-year-old tech school and I love working sheet metal. I could spend the rest of my day trying to build stuff. I suppose probably some of that stuff for sale? Super great video thanks for the content. 👍❤️💥💥💥💥💥💯😎
Yeah, he's parting with some of it.
He can't paint Old Trouble! She's absolutely beautiful and one of a kind, perfect the way she looks!!!
Put a motor in and drive it just the way it is... No paint!
What a collection ! nice ! Matt from Iron Trap Garage would be in Heaven there for sure . beautiful place , fishing in the morning , hot rodding in afternoon !
Matt and Mike find enough of their own goodies!
Yeah they do , now you have a nice honey hole to pick , cool !
Duff Dog thoroughly enjoyed the tour. He learned a lot. As did I.
You found a GOLD MINE....WOW....I would be like a kid in a Candy store...Unbelieveable theres still that many old Rides in that good of shape Greart Video....
A great stroll through time Mortske. Really enjoyed, waiting on return trip!👍👌🇺🇸
Both of you throwing your knowledge back and forth was a sight to see. Man talk! LOL
Haha, something like that!
I would love to have his collection and his knowledge. He's like the Heavy Metal King. His knowledge of what he has and the older cars is fantastic as well as yours too. I could see you coming home with one of those projects soon! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Brad!
Wow...like a kid in a candy store. Pure heaven. I could go out there all day every day👍👍
Nothing beats a good day in a good salvage yard, and man did that guy have it ALL! Good inspiration for some crawling this weekend, thanks.
Right on
My head is spinning 😵💫 paradise on earth
Just amazing what a lot of history
Love this guy!
I could spend days listening to him
Yeah not bad!
This gentleman looks like he had to much time on his hands, or an addiction with very deep pockets!!! All I see is a small fortune here!! Good lord. So this is what heaven looks like!!! Thanks for sharing buddy!!!
He's searched high and low and put in a lot of hard work to get most of that stuff.
Probably the best day Duff's had in years!
Everyday is a good day for the duff!
The old dude has game. "Buy this original former '57 drag car with art intact at my price or I swear I'll paint it!" (Waves paint brush at car menacingly.)
DD Speed Shop, DDSpeedShop, DD Speed Shop! Loving the shout out!
I figured that was fitting!
It' is nice you can talk to him intelligently and understand So many are just supposed well read tire kickers that don't pick up on the nuances the way you do. PROUD of you.!
Thanks boss!
Man! A guy could spend days just talking to this guy about his collection. If you need parts this is the man to see. I’m glad there’s still guys out there that can take care of this stuff so it has a chance to get back on the road someday.
One the better tours I've seen in a while. Enjoyed every minute.
What a gold mine!!! I'm afraid my desires would far outweigh my bank account though. Thanks for taking us with you on that tour.
Thanks for coming along!
Private museum. Really enjoyed this episode.
Not sure I’ve ever seen a happier pupper than Duff running around that “canine amusement park” that funny enough contains a “hot-rodder amusement park.” Cool vid, cooler seller; that guy’s a legend. Good fella to stay in touch with, even better to stay in the good graces of!
Cheers!
That was a great video, There was one vehicle that stood out to me that I would love to get and it was that rusted out General Electric truck. Keep up the great work and God Bless you guys
Yeah that has some great patina!
Great video Mortske!! Cool stuff. So much history. Your knowledge on this stuff always amazing me.
Thanks again!
Man I'd be in heaven walking through there around all them engines
Best junk yard stroll, EVER!
I concur!
Dang he's got enough 57s to leave the racecar original. I hope someone talks him out of it!
Quite the collection of stuff!
I love the junkyard tours! You kill me with your excitement.
Good morning Mortske and Duff Dog. Lots of cool stuff.
Damn that guy has a awesome collection the old case and JD tractors were cool and the motor pile was awesome too. The man has a little of everything that was awesome
OMG that guy has garage after garage full of GOLD and FIELDS of Dreams. All those engines you could do will it start video's every week for the rest of your life and you would never run out of engines to start.
He's got most of them running actually.
I'd have gone bonkers he has so much to see it'd take a week awesome vid
I keep going back and watching, Can you just imagine all the adventures he has been on and the stories just to find all this goodness. What could be better than getting up in the morning with your cup of coffee and wandering thru your own personal museum and letting your imagination run wild on future project planning.
That’s the dream I wanna live!
@@MortskeRepair Your doing a hell of a job, more power to Ya, the videos just keep getting better, my family was from the south east corner of South Dakota farm country. Visiting that area as a kid in the 60's I saw a lot of great old iron around Alcester and across the border into Iowa in Hawarden, folks sold the farm and moved to Washington state, good memories from back there.
@@davidanderson2393 Thanks David!
Very cool, field of dreams stuff right there.
Wow what a collection! Just imagine the stuff you couldn't see that's hiding underneath other cool stuff! Not to mention duff was in his glory exploring he probably enjoyed it just as much as you! Lol great video as always thanks for sharing!
Duff had more fun than all of us!
Thank you to that man for sharing his collection!
That stash is heaven on earth!!! Just glorious!!!
Most interesting to me is the 4dr Flatback. The aviation styled wheel with knob. Screaming to be restored.
That is a pretty nice car!
When your watching an old Mortske vid and a notification for a new one pops up:)
Go back and watch the other one too!
Vintage open wheel racer heaven!
Wow, that was quite the collection. Hopefully some of those treasures will move on to people who will show them some love.
Was St. Peter standing at the door? Because I would be in heaven digging around in there! 😁✌🏻🇺🇸
Love your weekly sir. Puddin is going bat shat buddy. Funny though 😁 Keep doing what you do sir . You have my attention 💯
Thanks John!
Thats an unreal collection Mortske ,its so pleasing to see someone with a real passion like that, and he has taken great care of it by not letting it go to scrap.I am sure Brent would love all of it too.Duff looked like he was having fun as always...:)
Heck yeah! We all had fun!
Wow I dream about those sort o places ! Thanks for sharing !
No wonder he has boat motors, look at that awesome lake or river maybe? Beautiful property!
It's a great piece of property!
He had me at 327 my favorite motor of all time he has a amazing collection!! This guy is a super hoarder of car parts overwhelming at best!!!! Waldo popping up lol
Glad you caught Waldo!
Had a 409 in my 72 Chevelle, my buddy gave it to me as a wedding gift. He had bought it off a little old lady believe it or not. She had gotten too old to drive and it was very low mileage and yeah the sound of that motor was unbelievable. The only problem with the 409 was the bottom ends being only two bolt means they were not that great even though they still ran pretty good. Hey Kevin thank you so much for bringing this video man there is so much stuff I have not seen in years and years. Brings back a lot of old memories but not that old. What a great collection!
Never seen a 409 in a Chevelle, interesting!
Every minute just keeps blowing my mind !
You would think he'd have a good selection of starters lol 🤣🤣
No doubt!
@@MortskeRepair lol 🤣🤣
Matt from Iron Trap Garage just wet himself
Haha, he's already got too much cool stuff!
How the hell ain’t that place over grown lol! What an amazing place this guy is so awesome, man I wish he was my grandad 💖
Thank you, for taking us along. What a unique fella, and what an amazing collection. Truly a lifetime of amazing adventure in the world of dreams can come true, its all up to you.
Glad you enjoyed it
I would be doing a "Duff" if I got to see that collection!
He had a blast too!
@@MortskeRepair duff daw dog!!!!!!!
Minot is only about 5 hours away from me and DD speed shop 😁
59:58 J.C Whitney, that's our old generations Horrible Freight/Amason mail order supply! 😂
They still exist!
Nothing wrong with taking a break from the shop and going somewhere to view lots of cool automotive treasure. Thanks Mort.
Gotta find that stuff for the shop somewhere!
Can’t change the 57!
Good morning hello duffy
Morning!
Its a bitter sweet thing seein all the cars and such sitting there
what an absolute GOLDMINE that old General Electric Ford pickup is just asking to be rescued
So this is where old cars go when they die.
WOO! Best part of every monday is gettin a new Mortske upload!
Amazing collection.
You hit the motherload. DANG!!!!! And the guy seems cool as all get out. Makes a guy wonder how many other collections and people there are just like this...
Super cool guy!
A junk collector that realizes...he got old...like me...and time for stuff to go or leave it for the kids to toss in a dumpster. I hope it all eventually finds a home.
I'm 66 and I know it's going to happen but I haven't given up yet! My son is into them too and I trust him to post the them for sale on the internet to get good money out of them. If I live to be a hundred I couldn't finish all of my cars, I kind of quit keeping track of how many I had at forty and I've bought quite a few since then plus I have a huge amount of parts taking over a 38 by 70 upstairs in my shop plus a an old house I bought next door to my shop!
Hey but everything he has is not junk every piece he has is valuable it's crazy the stuff he has
He saved all of these cars from the fate of the scrapper and they'll go on to new homes at some point.
😳😳😳😳😳🤯 beer me ..I'm home!
Good show thanks for the great content and all the great tips , Mortske thank you sir.
My pleasure!
Bro. This cat's quonset hut is like Disneyland to me. He's cool as hell and his gear is amazing. First pan inside I said out loud...HEMI! GREAT FIND. I'd love to be there with ya.
Love what you do sir, but this made me a little sick. I see so much that would have been great stuff 30-40-50 years ago when he let it sit and rot. It’s staining the ground. Please sir, sell some to save it!😢
No he's saved this stuff from rotting and brought it home over the last 50 years. It's stored quite well actually. He's parted with some as well.
@@MortskeRepair thats a little better, bit you know what I am saying, he could have a line at his door with all that goodness around him and still have a ton of projects for himself! I’m like this the whole time😲👀👀😲! I love that, I love that, I love that..........
He loves it too!
Need some project advice. Bought some sweet headers and Cragars, and now I’m running low on funds for the flexi-hose needed to put it all back together. Where can a guy cut some corners?
Also, should I use the red or yellow wire nuts when I restore the wiring?
Wire nuts... nae-nae! Thats far to expensive, scotch-locks for the win
Get some red or yellow spark plug wires and clear zip ties.
I'm just loving it. what an awesome show.. great find.
I'm glad this guy invited you,
Me too!
I was already amazed by the collection BEFORE you went outside. I could spend a week walking around and listening to the stories. It's incredible that he actually remembers every vehicle and part. Was also great to see he was keeping things either indoors, or covered as best he could, and what was outside was kept tidy and free of weeds. Not to mention the majority of those engines were being incredibly well preserved. So many folks will let collections like this fall into serious neglect. Really amazing stuff, thanks for taking us along on this one. 👍
Stuff for days! And great stories too! Glad you appreciated it!
This is my favourite type of vids beginning nosey In someone else’s amazing collection, so many interesting vehicles backed up with knowledge and a good storey. What were the prop driven tri ski contraptions??? Were they used on frozen lakes? Brilliant video and location only let down by the god awful Tr7 British manufacturing at its most embarrassing stage. 👍👍👍
Snow planes we call them. Haha that car wouldn't be inside if I had it!
Electrolux made the vacuum paint sprayer was to spray anything liquid
That's awesome!
My grand mother would spray the rugs and furniture with it
@@keithreilly386 Interesting
Wow.....morskie you found the jack pot I'd love too have some of that stuff
37:31 that little red stepside v8 ford pickup is absolutely badass
What a place! Could be lost in there for days just poking around, amazing
