First 2 was a big part of my childhood. I can't say how many hours I spent on them. However it's shocking to see how they looked like in today's perspective after so many hours in ETS2 and ATS.
Same here, it's shocking, back in the days those graphics were like a paradise... Now after ETS 2 you feel so bad about those graphics... Back in the days i never noticed
I agree. Looking at those graphics now hurt my eyes for a little bit, nearly puked. The only graphics good enough for me now is ats at max setting, max scaling, and 4k resolution. Nothing below that is worthy of my approval.

My first was Across America, but when I got Pedal to the Metal was very surprised, time-limited cargo and fatigue system adds so much depth to gameplay. AA was kind of basic. Pedal was perfect. I wonder what is new in Convoy and Haulin, if they ever justify the work of getting them.

A. L extreme trucker is a great game that tests your driving skills. İmagine that game with the same Physics and graphics engine with ATS or ETS. İt would be fun to drive on extreme situations
Basic Repeater DAHL just downloader HarshRussia map to ETS2 and You have extereme trucker in ETS2 style.. no need to make separate game.. they would better improve ets/ats, like add bdf's and possibilyty to buy your own trailers, to plan loads for your drivers cuz for now they just do what they want and only thing You can do is buy them truck and that's IT..
I quite like PTTM myself for how easy it is to mod. Haven't played Haulin, but I have American Long Haul which I've heard is almost the same, felt better in some ways, more in depth, but it really needed a tutorial. Roads were also rather weird, it was nice to have highways that were more than two lanes each direction, but the lanes would start/end will no warning.

Memories, love em all. I had an OTR trucking job at the time when Hualin came out. People thought I was weird driving all day long and then coming home and play 18WOS, I did care loved all of the trucking games especially American Truck Simulator. Only thing I wish is that we were able to get out of the trucks and interact with the outside.
My dad used to play these games a lot when I was a kid, he hasn't really played any video games ever since. I played them a lot too, my first one was Across America, then I went from Convoy -> Haulin -> American Long Haul->ETS->Trucks and Trailers->ETS2. Crazy how these games have evolved, nowadays I play ETS2 in virtual reality and I could've never imagined something like that was possible I did become a truck driver in the army, and I do have the paperwork to be able to work as one, but I don't think it's really the right field for me. It's fun to play in games but it would probably get pretty dull after a while in real life and I probably wouldn't want to drive virtual trucks after driving one all day. Truck drivers do very long days/weeks as well and I like to be home every once in a while instead of working all the time too so yeah not really the right field for me

Oh yeah, the 18 Wheels of Steel... The game where you had to edit some game files to have enjoyable ride (acceleration was atrocoius). Still have a CD to this day

SCS was one of the greatest thing in my childhood, playing bus simulator and almost every franchise. The best part was in Convey there was actually a mission where you can drive a Mustang. Hope they could bring that back to ATS

Nadal mają ten sam klimat tamtych starych gier.
I barely remember the time I played the ETS1. Every now and then I played a bit and it got me more and more. That excitement as they announced ETS2 in the past... And maaaaaaaaaaaaaaany years later... still driving, all addons and for me SCS is one of the last companies which really supports the game. Guys... you have done everything right! :D And we do need the Truck & Trailer content for a driving school in ETS 2... ok... as well as some levels from Scania Truck driving simulator :D

Remember when SCS hadn't announced American Truck Simulator people are already speculating that the game is going to come out. Everyone was so hype about it.
It's amazing to see how much gaming technology has advanced from earlier games such as 18 wheels of steel convoy from 2005, a large map but with little to poor detail in today time, but massive and beautiful then.
Iv played all of them these games where my childhood i spend so many hours on ets2/ats its amazing what there making now compared to when the started all great games keep making them scs!
Pedal to the Metal and American Long Haul were my childhood haha. Funniest part is I don't remember my mom actually buying me pedal to the metal so I'm assuming I somehow found a free download of it. Either way that led to me all these years later still being a fan of what SCS does and just a few years ago getting back into their games Ets2 and Ats.
I played all the games, best three are: 3) 18 Wheels of steel Haulin 2) 18 Wheels of steel Extreme Trucker/Extreme Trucker 2 1) Euro/American Truck Simulator These three are the best rest are just OK
You jumped over earlier Hard Trucks, as I started with those. Then with all those 18Wheels I took a break unit Euro Truck Simulator 2 when the graphics matured. Also ETS2 aged nicely by upgrades of the engine and maps. Plus licensed vehicles.
My childhood 18 wos games; 18 wos hard truck, 18 wos pedal to the metal, 18 wos haulin (got so many trucks and trailers mods) and alh, ets 1, and later ets 2, and ats. Ets 2 still playing 'till nowadays.
I loved Extreme Trucker and it would be total awesome, if SCS would do something similar (narrow roads in mountains, ice truckers, etc) in ATS & ETS2 ... SCS please ...

For sixteen years I use to play all of them,maybe less Scania Driving simulator.Now I am trucker for 11 years.I drive across Europe.I still play ETS2 and ATS.Sometimes When I finish the trip,lets say from Normanton GB to Azambuja PT while I wait for new trip I play ETS2/ATS... I thing they forgot 18 WoS Long Haul...
Convoy, Extreme, ETS 2 and ATS were the ones that I play(ed). I remember those crazy names too since SCS was too poor to gain rights to the real trucks back during Convoy. Whiplash, Interprid, the good old days. Anyone remember the truck for the main menu runs a red light? The little things I remember about that game. Wish some of those textures could be a DLC for the trucks and trailers in ETS and ATS. Just for the nostalgia of keyboard catting a 50 foot trailer with the 8 axle Whiplash rig.

IMHO Hauling lacks just one thing, mouse steering
Like about half of people. Steering with keyboard sucks so much and not everybody can afford 300$ steering wheel.

ATS has come a long way from a 9X game to today with Utah and with that SCS has evolved.
