  • So I had been wondering if it was possible for the engines of the trucks in Euro Truck Simulator 2 to overheat under different circumstances. In this video I test it out to see whether you can or cannot overheat the engines.
I got the idea for this video from Vucko100 who makes awesome GTA 5 videos and tests, check him out - / @vucko100

Indeed, that would be great but apparently the licenses they have with the truck manufacturers will not allow that. I guess it doesn’t look great if pictures are taken of the trucks damaged but it’s still a shame they cannot add stuff like that.

@@abitoftruth8670 There are different levels of overheating. Aluminum headed cast iron blocked engines are the most easily damaged by overheating, and its quite easy to overheat such engines so that you don't notice any difference in the way they run in the short term, but they will have premature parts failure, especially head gaskets. Its also possible to overheat an engines valves without the coolant temperature being noticeably high, although nearly every engine made after the 80s has valves made of such advanced alloys this is nearly impossible. High performance European cars from the 60s and 70s are particularly known for overheating valves.

This game is good but it is missing so many real life problems that truck drivers face. Police inspections, physical damage, engine servicing. It'd be cool if you had to take your truck in for an oil change or a head gasket replacing.

@@XpertGamerXGYT yeah sure it is but it's 2020. I know that with a trucking game, long distance is a key factor in the gameplay but mechanics that I mentioned before would make it more like a simulator than it already is. Truck maintenance is non-existent. The only faults you have are that your truck will cut out randomly. There should be more. After nearly 8 years I'd just expect a little more vanilla content as opposed to map expansions and a few trucks. However, they may be a small studio so I'll cut them some slack.

@@archechme What you fail to realize is they CANNOT add that stuff in no matter how much or how often you bring it up or want it. The licensing from the manufacturers prevents it most likely or it probably would have been done already.
They want their trucks shown in top form and peak condition. Remember this is as much an advertisement for them and their brand as it is a game for us and as such they want to showcase their vehicles in the best light possible, not in screenshots or videos broken down beside the highway, smoke pouring out of the engine..that does not paint a good picture of their product.
Kind of the same thing as with the original Gran Turismo titles and no damage etc...the car makers would not allow them to add it in.

No physical damage and effects after crash. No broken tire cause of wight in trailer. No realistic money cost in diesel. No real career. No used, old and cheap truck for more realistic job. NO REASON for all this lvls, what is 600level, what you earn-win up to 30lvl????
