- You never know when inspiration will strike. Sometimes, a container sparks an idea, or I consider an environment I'd like to replicate. In this case, it was a combination of both.
When I found the first container, I thought it would be the perfect vessel for a terrarium. That's when my mind went to a cloud forest, which is home to an array of incredible plants, like orchids, ferns, and moss. The kind of stuff that does exceptionally well in a terrarium.
With this build, I set out to capture to essence of a cloud forest within the confines of a container, using some fun and easy techniques. I've made a lot of jungle designs so far, but I think this is one of my best attempts at encapsulating that idea to date. What do you think? Let me know, and enjoy the video!

I had a lot of fun with this build and experimenting with various techniques. I’m curious to see how it fills in and appears later on. I also can’t wait to bring this up to a larger and more detailed scale that I can’t wait to share. Stay tuned! Enjoy the video, and have a great weekend SerpaSquad!
I love your work i have been inspired by you and made many terrarium and vivariums as you teach us❤
Bonsai terrarium please 🙏
No bc it is awesome
Yo serpa I've really wanted you to make a electric blue and purple crayfish darkwater setupthats overplayed with tons of purple plants of course may as well put in purple and blue neon tetras. Your biggest fan Lawson Soza❤❤❤
Please make a bioactive leopard gecko tank, PLEASE!!!!!!! 🥺🥺🥺
I agree that this is one of your best "Jungle" works. The tiny plants and the mister really bring it home!
I’d love to see a larger version. Like a whole orchid scape…
Yes! A huge orchid scape would be incredible!
Low key wanna know your wife's top 5 builds of yours, they're all so beautiful 😍
A large version with a water feature/pond/river with orchids would be incredible!!
Wow what a MISTerious looking scape...! ;) I love it!!
You have GOT to keep us updated on this one... Pretty please! I love this idea, but i really want to see it after it matures a bit more.🙏❤❤❤
Your videos inspired my daughter and I..we entered a national competition in our country and she won best environmental science project.. Thanks
You got magic skill in your hand. Really appreciate your art work.
Nice to see mini orchids getting recognized on the big stage. Awesome setup!
As I was thinking during the outro, "Man, Tanner is a poet when describing these creations" Bam he hits us with a dad joke "Mist'ery" Keep 'em coming.
This is the earliest I've ever been to be able to get to a video
The black and white failure montage in the beginning reminded me of the as seen on TV products that solve all your problems in life
This looks phenomenal, Tanner! I feel like it would be so calming to just chill and enjoy watching the mist curl around the bottom of the container with all the greenery in the background. Awesome work!
Perfect way to start every Saturday
I absolutely love micro orchids!!
Orchids of any kind are absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!
This is one of my favorite builds you´ve ever done,
That wood piece when you applied the bees wax though🤩
always a good day when tanner uploads
Love the jungle classic terrarium
I remember a short while after I started watching this channel i had an extremely vivid dream that I still think about to this day.
I was walking by myself through a nature trail when i spotted through all the green, a mossy fallen log. I walked up to it, and thought to myself, "man, that's some really good moss!"
And then the dream was over. I will never forget it so long as I live.
I cant believe ive never heard of micro orchids!
Your builds always remind me of Dagobah swamp. You should do one with Yoda's hut with Yoda and Luke
Bravo on the use of lighting and shadow to create something truly great.
omg the moss vines are the smartest thing ever!!! I'm so gonna utilize this technice in my own terrarium builds from now on!!!
This was one kf my favorite build videos ever! A) it looked aweskme but B) loved how you showed the oarts that didnt work.
Great work
i think that dart frogs would look really cool in this
Wow - that looks amazing. Truly.
This is really living art at it's best. I love, love, love, this ❤👍💯🇺🇸
Those vines look great Tanner!
those vines are incredible
The bonsai wire pushed into the cotton wick is a great idea!
mist-ery, i see what you did there. i love the wood base piece, great build and it's going to look awesome on a bigger scale
Do you think you'll do another update video, showing off the animal room and all the setups that have had some time to mature. Those are some of my favorite videos and I feel like we haven't had one in a while
Favorite part of the video is how you discuss the process and adjustments made along the way. Bravo!
Today I have a 55gal standard aquarium that I converted into a tropical vivarium for my four Whites Tree Frogs. I've been inspired by you every step of the way, and I continue to want to build better, not only for the wow factor but because I know it makes my froggies happier. Your channel is a gift! Thank you so much for the quality information you provide us.
I do have a question, though:
I took a fake rock small watering dish from Petco and sawed it to make it flat on one side, then gluing the shim I cut off to the bottom to act as a weight differential so it won't put too much pressure on the wall. I want to glue this to the glass of my tank for the frogs so they can bask closer to the heat lamp if they wish, but it just seems to be too heavy to support them without the hot glue peeling away. Is there a good alternative adhesive I can try that's nontoxic and can be applied with frogs present?
An terrarium video!, happy Saturday to me!
Ur the reason I started my channel
Tanner, have you ever tried making a terrarium WITHOUT moss? I feel like that would be extremely challenging but also very interesting
I work at a flower shop for my part time job.....and the amount of different types of glass the owner has....and now I HAVE...😂 from seeing one and asking her if I can buy it....but then she just gives it to me....I have a bunch of those round glass cylinders like you have in this post and I made a really cool aqua tank out of a long cylinder and planted a bunch off Amazon swords. Looks fantastic. Great video man....Love the new creation!
This is definitely a calming design. Like a zen forest, somewhere I would not mind living. I'm surprised you didn't add springtails or isopods. I'm sure there's a good combo that would work great.
exceptional build tanner. love this one
Absolutely love this scape.
You are incredibly talented and build some of the coolest things I've ever seen!
One of my favorite builds u did so far! Amazing
Love all the recent projects! Its been great to watch your builds evolve over the years. You have given me a lot of great insight for my own setups so thanks a bunch!
This is a cool design and I do love orchids
This turned out so pretty!
I'm looking forward to seeing this in 3 or 6 months.
I’ve been on holiday for a week so this is great I’ve got another video to watch!
So cool!! I would love to see more builds incorporating misters
Love the mist maker, beautiful project. Well done.
One of my favorites ❤
Quality mate. Love the idea for the moss vines 🤓👌🏼
Hi there. My 20 year old son died and is being turned into soil. I want to make a small self-sustaining terrarium and was told that you were the go-to youtube channel for this sort of project. I want to be able to just put it together, seal it and never open it again. I may try to put a tiny ceramic pot he made in it. I don't know if insects or a bonsai are viable for this, either. I know nothing, I just want part of him to live forever.
I’m so sorry for your loss, this is an amazing way to memorialize him
Commenting to help boost so he hopefully sees. Sorry for your loss
+
He normally does regular maintenance on his set up so it might not look like how you set it up forever. Also the larger the terrarium the longer it will sustain itself.
Life in Jars is another YT channel you might want to look at that focuses more on long term terrariums. Both are really great channels though
This is the most inspiring way to remember a loved one I've seen. I hope your (and his) creation will flourish for many years to come.
Stunning !!🌱🍃
YES! Thank you for finally doing more with orchids. They are vast and unique
One of the best set ups yet!!! Will try this someday soon!
cant wait to see it down the line
Extremely well done!!
I’d love to see a set up with more orchids!
Wow that was beautiful!!!!❤
Yep it’s wonderful!
Spectacular !!!
You inspired me to build a massive paludarium. Thank you for being you and showing people how to capture nature and bring it indoors
Gorgeous! Looks and feels so transformative
this is so inspiring. great work, man. i love that you show missteps, as well as successes
Absolutely stunning xx such great ideas and composition.
You are so talented. I enjoy this very much. I wish I have some of your talent to create my own terrarium. But watching you I learned a lot.
Im new to your wonderful builds what a collection you must have , Plants , wood etc...
I work in Garden Center these lil pieces of water wonders are amazing thank you for sharing your talents
I really appreciate that you very quickly moved past the idea of using the container that inspired the piece in the first place. It says a lot about the creative process as a whole, and goes to show your maturity as an artist!
As always an excellent video. Thank you!
Super, Bravo! Un grand merci pour la vidéo!
Yoooo coolest build yet in my opinion
You and MissOrchidGirl should do some collabs!
It really looks amazing 🤩🤩🤩
omg u r such an amazing content creator!!!
Have you ever tried an hourglass enclosure? Would definitely be a cool challenge.
He has - its Amazing! The video is called "Moss hourglass terrarium".
@@veronica5896 Thank you!
This was awesome man I need to see a supply tour bad
I love the pedestal
Second video of asking Tanner to do a fish bridge or tunnel to make a connected tank or pond set up of some kind lol
I envy your vision, your tools, and your patience. I hope you post a growth update. I'd actually love to see more growth updates for your terrariums.
This is so beautiful! You have to update us when the orchid blooms. 😊
How lovely! I feel like adding some cleaning insects would be prudent given how easily mold might take root here, but other than that 10/10! I love these slices of the natural world!
Great build!
Now all that's missing is an x-wing on the bottom.
I watch all of your videos, but I don't comment often. But this one is one of my all time favorites, such a jungley good vibe.
I miss when you did sit in front of the camera and talk to us, I just get used to it and now I find videos lacking that, despite the build is lovely as always :)
Orchids! Yes! I cant wait for you to build something with a regular Orchidaceae!
Ok but this would be the COOLEST orchid mantis terrarium
So gorgeous!
This is really beautiful
i love terrariums
Wow it’s beautiful!
Looks great, you always inspire me to make my own terrariums, even though I'm not too good at it
Tanner creativity at it's finest!!! Love your magical microscapes, so captivating & meditative!!!
👍💯👍
Lovely. You are an artist!
Oh WOW! 😍
This looks amazing!
Wow amazing work! 🌿
It's my dream to set up something similar to this as a dart frog habitat. ♥️
