A Year to Volunteer descended on Stephen C Foster State Park near Fargo Georgia in the heart of the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge to help give the park some needed upgrades. During our visit, we took some time to show you around. This park truly is a diamond in the rough with:
- boat rentals and tours
- camping for RVs and tents
- cabin rentals for family and friend gatherings
- abundant wildlife

Our projects in 2021:
🛠 Georgia - Jan 25th - Feb 5th. Steven C Foster State Park near Fargo GA. We'll repair a marshland walkway if the weather cooperates and we'll tackle a bunch of other projects the park could use help with!! Yes! Right up our alley!!
🛠 Tennessee
🍁 Fall Creek Falls State Park (Feb 15-26) - trails, bridges, and other refurbishment work around the park.
🍁 Paris Landing State Park (Mar 1-12) - refurbish an old Girl Scout camp and repurpose it for group camping!
🍁 David Crockett Birthplace State Park (Mar 15-26) - build an amphitheater stage to help them create a public education and music center.
🛠 Montana - Bannack State Park (Apr 19-30) Replace the stringers under their iconic boardwalk and possibly some other work around the park!
🛠 Wyoming - Sinks Canyon State Park - (May 2 - 14) - trails, trails, and more trails!
🛠 Nebraska - Victoria Springs State Recreation Area (May 24 - Jun 9) - we will overhaul this rec area ahead of their state park centennial celebration!
🛠 Oklahoma - Healdton Municipal Lake Park (June 14 - 26) - trails, painting buildings and repairing restrooms.

It's also a certified dark sky park! That's the main reason my girlfriend and I are going in October :)

Kind of a blessing and curse. Forces us all away from technology! It’s definitely nice to have that to be able to check email though.

Do they have a boat ramp to bring your own boat? And how much are the boat rentals?

Hey Travis - sorry we missed this comment. Our apologies. They do have a ramp for private boats but there's a 10hp limit. Not sure about the boat rental prices but if you've never been....you need to. It's incredible! Definitely let us know if you go and what you think!
