I'm 51 a fan of both of these Artists I have seen both live. That Was One of THE BEST Interviews I have EVER Seen or Heard. It helps that Henry is a fan.
I'm 55 myself. I saw Henry Rollins in the 80's twice both times at Bogarts in Cincinnati once with Black Flagg the other time he had started The Henry Rollins Band. Dude would come out in shorts and nothing else and just F Ing killed it just hours of performing saw him with Agent Orange Butthole Surfers Circle Jerks all at Bogarts In one night. Aerosmith I saw in the early 2000's on the co headline tour with kiss also In Cincinnati. 3 days grace papa Roach 3 doors down nickle back kid rock kiss and Aerosmith at that one AWESOME SHOW BOTH NIGHTS
@@scottowens8474 Saw him with his band in New York here and he came out in a pair of black cargo shorts and no shirt, socks or sneakers. His back was to us most of the gig. He turned around sometimes, usually to ramp up the crowd or announce a new song. I am 56 now and there is NOTHING out there today, imo of course
@gib59er56 yeah far back as I can remember he usually if not always comes out wearing shorts of some kind usually black and nothing else bare footed no shirt. He was a lot younger in the 80's of course. We all were. But he pretty much moshed on stage the entire time he was singing. Non stop action one song to the next not much talking except for what the next song is and are we all having a good time. Water between songs that was Rollins. The whole back to the audience thing I remember somewhat but I don't remember it being to.the extent you mentioned. Maybe a Morrison kind of thing. Morrison in his early days performed with his back turned to the audience the entire time. Before The Doors were known outside of L.A.

Appreciate these uploads, Henry Rollins is actually a pretty good interviewer. With the great guests and performing bands I'm surprised these aren't more popular. Maybe the very "2000's" intro and Rollins self-righteous preamble at the start throws people off, but they're missing out on some gems.
I think most people can handle Henry's rant, it's just buried under a mountain of "content'. Who knows about HR nowadays? Who knows he made a tv show back in the day? That stuff surely is dated, but I like the spirit and I like the bands and artists he's promoting.
And years later, Henry wakes up one morning and says he's finished with music, but involved with other things. It's hard to slow a dynamo. Tyler and Co. are on their final bow out tour. You never know what's going to happen beyond the now.
Great that you started off talking about Toys in the Attic. Their best album in my opinion. Yeah, I was a kid when it first came out too. That album cover. After I got home and put in on….Oh Boy! I still listen to it all the way through when I listen to it. It’s always in my record catalog.
I have been looking for this for a while. I downloaded 2 episodes of the Henry Rollins show but, I been wanting to watch the entire series. Thanks for this. Subscribed. 👍
My favorite since I was 14,now 61 been to as many concerts as possible,my only thing on my bucket list is to meet him for even 2min, he's an unbelievable man,Rock God,so genuine can't say enough, holding my tix for TD Boston, was postponed, die hard fan from Massachusetts,10 min from Nipmuc where played 1st time &10 min from Hopedale Joe Perry home town!
I’m in Mass also,I got to meet him and the whole band at the Walk ThisWay book signing thy did at the Mama Kin music hall which is sadly gone now..I’m hoping to take my 19 yr old twins to see them New Year’s Eve at TD Garden but the tickets are mighty expensive…Last chance to see them though so I might HAVE TO find a way…Rock on man!
I'm so jealous! My 24yr old will be her 3rd time & my older daughter went to Fenway 3 of us in 22, they'll enjoy it. I went through tic pic and they weren't outrageously expensive. Granted I got kind of not the best tickets but there they're actually like on the side of the stage but the whole thing is open and I sat there during Billy Joel before and they were actually pretty good, have jumbotrons now anyway ,You can probably get away with two- 250 if you can find some.
I have been in love ❤️ with Steven Tyler since I was 9. I was blessed to have met him backstage 3 times in my life and even got a kiss💋 from him. Beautiful talented idol of rock n roll. ❤️
I saw both these gentlemen play in concert on the same day in August of 1994, Saugerties NY Woodstock 25th anniversary. Rollins band around mid afternoon and Aerosmith around 11:30 at night right after Metallica and 9inch nails.
About 15 years ago two coworkers and I were chatting in a downtown parking garage in Boston. We looked over to see that about 30 feet a way this sort of raggedly looking guy was walking out of a stairwell door and coming toward us. He had lots of jewelry and a few tassel-type things in his hair and he was wearing crocks. But from a distance we just thought he was some homeless guy coming over to ask for money. As he got closer I could see him more clearly and it dawned on me that I was about to meet Steven Tyler. I'm sure he was wondering when we'd react because he didn't need to walk in our direction. He was a nice guy, asking "how ya doin'" and shook our hands. It was a short chat and we didn't hassle him for autographs or bow down in awe. Just a few gentlemen being courteous as they pass by each other (but I sure told best friend and fellow Aerosmith fan about it). Looking back, I'd sometimes wondered what Tyler was doing down in that garage, but I'd remind myself, "Oh, yeah. Even rock legends have to get in their car and take care of non-rock star stuff just like the rest of us."
Steven is right. Why stop. It’s what they love to do and as long as fans want to show up and you can still do it carry on. It keeps you going. I’m a big Stones fan ( since 1967 I was 6) and the still do it. I be seen them and Black Flagg ( with Henry) in Montreal I never saw Aerosmith which I regret. My friends all saw them at the Forum in 1977. But I didn’t go. Drag cheers from Montreal

I love people who are hyper creative and intelligent. Perfect combo for music-it’s so effing cool that he sounds just as great as he did decades ago❣️I do background acting in NYC/I got to do the Pink commercial with Cara Delevingne & the music used was of course Aerosmith’s ‘Pink’! Growing up my older sibling had Toys in the Attic playing all the time & I still remember all the lyrics🫶🏼 Not many bands stay relevant for so many years, I think it’s the ones who are the most passionate and LOVE what they are doing more than anything 🎶 I heard A Star is Born when I was 13 & wanted to sing like Barbara 😊/I never had the courage to try but about a year ago a friend asked me to fill in for his band & even though I’m in 5-0s, I immediately said YES & have been singing ever since. I really wish I hadn’t been destroyed in childhood-teens/maybe I would have given it a shot, but F it, at 58 I’m finally singing & there is nothing in this world I would rather be doing… music literally saved my life/& thanks to both of you for sharing your insane talent with the world/what would we be w/o music?
Rollin’s first arena rock concert experience was Aerosmith. The single at the time was “Walk This Way” but, opened with Rats in the Cellar. That is a track from their album that came out a year after WTW. The timeline seems a bit foggy. Then again we are talking about the 70s.
Early 90's, I was taking a break from my job in Water Tower Place in Chicago and I went out the exit that connected The Ritz Carlton driveway and saw the entire band leaning on a limo in front of the Ritz-- just hanging out - probably waiting for their tour manager. It was about 11am bright sunny day and I just froze and watched them for a while. They looked so serene. I went back in to tell a few people at work and about 4 of us went back outside and just stared -- none of us wanted to bother them with fan small talk. At first we regretted it but then learned they were all newly sober.
Oh wow. They looked great when freshly sober, early 90s. The video for The Other Side especially, they really had a special glow from their new found sobriety and seemed to really be having fun. I would have freaked if I saw them like you did.

Like Henry, I was 14 when I started listening to Aerosmith. My first concert ever was Aerosmith and Guns was supposed to open but Axl had "throat problems" and missed the show. Anyway, I got to see the band that mattered anyway and still brag about my first concert all these years later.
I snuck out to “Irvine meadows” to see Aerosmith and GnR opened. I wasn’t so familiar with GnR but I became hooked after that. It was something. 1 of the best! In all my concerts I never saw them in concert again. Years after that I used to go to clubs and see GnR hanging out
I seen Aerosmith in dublin 1990 i was only 17 it was my first concert it was the pump tour it was a great day i really enjoyed it.Pump is favourite aerosmith album i heard it many times when i was younger its the ultimate party album it think its perfect rock music.
Steven I had hep c too, like you said non a non b which was actually hep c l did the shots once a week and the pills 6 a day. It was hard but now it's not detected in my bloodstream anymore. Praise God for the both of us ❤
Henry Rollins: You were my first arena concert...the single was Walk This Way...which was Toys In The Attic...and you opened with Rats In The Cellar... Anyone who knows Aerosmith: Bullshit, not possible. I'll blame the arena weed and the years between and give him a pass, lol!
It was disrespectful of Henry to keep pressing "c'mon, you must have a lot of regrets and things that bring you down!?" Steven was in top form, and retorted about "sliding down a cheese grater" lol.
Wow me to Henry .my first concert was also a outdoor stadium festival when i was 12 in 1978 i believe .was a multi band 12 hour weed fest show from 12 noon to 12 midnight .with Brownsville Station .Nantucket . Frank Marino And Mahogany Rush Ted Nugent .and Aerosmith as the main headliner might have been one or two other early afternoon opening bands that i can't remember .but Marino did his version of Hendrix's star spangled banner .that sounded like we were being bombed by Russian planes .loudest thing i had ever heard before .seriously there were residents from downtown Orlando that didn't realize it was coming from the Tangerine Bowl football stadium that heard it and actually thought we were under attack Lol .Ted Nugent started his set off by jumping off a stack of Marshall speakers .and Aerosmith Rocked the place like i had never imagined .than after they were through playing they had a fireworks show finishing just before midnight .so yeah my introduction to live hard rock was me and my best friend unsupervised by adults with over 50.000 screaming drug induced fans ...
I love the story he told and put it from the perspective of Helen Keller. Where everything all of a sudden made sense.

2000s intro for a 2007 show makes sense
And years later, Henry wakes up one morning and says he's finished with music, but involved with other things. It's hard to slow a dynamo. Tyler and Co. are on their final bow out tour. You never know what's going to happen beyond the now.
Thank you for the upload, nice interview!
One word. Legend. ❤
Still looking fantastic!
That was an excellent interview 👏
🎉
I've also been in love with him since 70's. He is looking so good!!!!
I saw both these gentlemen play in concert on the same day in August of 1994, Saugerties NY Woodstock 25th anniversary. Rollins band around mid afternoon and Aerosmith around 11:30 at night right after Metallica and 9inch nails.
Thank you for the content uploads!!! You’ve been destroying it!!! Love it!!!
Henry Rollins - love him! ❤
Henry’s book get in the van is a great book that I highly recommend.this was a great interview.all stuff I wanted to hear about
@erikkibler3466 is that book still in print?
His Helen Keller face😂
Amazingly talented! Love Steven
This was great
Steven is right.
"I forget your original question." Classic.
when Steven talks sounds automatically as a song
good interview
Seen Aerosmith 4 times at pine knob in Clarkston, MI Love Steven’s voice. Toys in the attic brings me back to my childhood.
You SAW them 4 times...
I just love him
"Hello, my amazing supporter! Your warmth and positivity always brighten my day. Thank you for your unwavering love and encouragement. I'm so grateful to have you here! Where in the world are you tuning in from?"
30 years I thought it was longer than that; Steven I love you, the real you, this is Sandra D; wasn't so sure it was you on chat on your private page so, I just didn't go back to it because I was afraid of talking to the wrong person. You are just absolutely amazing.I love your music, I love you, love what you've done for the whole music industry both on the stage and off the stage I love what you've been for children that are unfortunate and don't have anything the little orphans everything that you do and you absolutely make that motorcycle not look as hot as you. Love your haircut, why don't you ride out here to Iberia, Missouri
and pick me up; I have some chaps if I need them. I used to live out west for about 5 years; that's probably where you are. ✌️❤️🌈🤟🙏
Yes, I'm sure there are hundreds of housewives across the world singing along to Rollins Band or Black Flag every day.
As usual, the good ones are never enough
There is no argument with Simply Awesomeness!
I love this interview. You are so creative And you are such a special person. Just showed it in this interview.
I love your creativity. You're not crazy. You're just very special and very creative. Actually All of aerosmith is very creative and special And such magical people 💖 I enjoyed listening to you steve Tyler l Love you 🩷❤️ Hilda Rouse
"Blood Stains the Abbeys on My Daddy's Baby Grand, Ain't Seen the Daylight Since We Started This Band....NO MORE, NO MORE....."
🎉👑🔥🫵🐐😎Steven Tyler Rocks and Rules!
Incredible
This guy this guy never ages!!!
Rollin’s first arena rock concert experience was Aerosmith. The single at the time was “Walk This Way” but, opened with Rats in the Cellar. That is a track from their album that came out a year after WTW. The timeline seems a bit foggy. Then again we are talking about the 70s.
He is Amazing
😊Love Steven Tyler great show
Thank you. We understand.
I adore you Henry
STEVEN TYLER , ❤STEVEN TYLER , ❤, YOUR THE BEST , YOUR ALWAYS ON MY MIND , I CAN NEVER FORGET YOU. CHERISH , IS THE WORD I USE TO DESCRIBE YOU. LOVE ALWAYS , FROM ME❤
True story, I actually met Steven Tyler ironically in an elevator at a hotel in Utah.
Fabulous
When I think of the term rockstar, Steve Tyler is the first person I think of.
Steven Tyler and 💎David Lee Roth are Iconic!#Aerosmith#VanHalen
Metoo, Roth is no match for Tyler!
I listened to the gene simmons one right before this an damn, both rockstars but what a difference
Train Kept a Rollin is a lift of Yardbirds/Jeff Beck version of the Johnny Burnette trio song, who Jeff was a fan of.
Toys in the Attic yesssssss!!!!!!!!!
I love how Henery is still a huge fan and is restraining it , just to listen to listen to Steve's confusion of where he's at and been.
Talking to Tyler has to be like a drug in that forum
Steven always felt he had black blood in him!!! He is proud of it! Good for you !
You SAW Aerosmith (in Dublin 1990)
😂😂
Someone made a meme that Steven Tyler looks like a cool aunt. I can not unsee that.
