I met Steven Tyler once. He was a patron at my restaurant and I was his waiter. This isn't a "look how cool I am cuz I waited on a celebrity" story. I don't get star struck. Steven was down to earth, real, polite and articulate. When he left, he asked the girls at the host stand to get me so he could say thank you to me. No one does that. No one. Except Steven Tyler.
That's cool. I like that. I have similar stories with well knowns. Those experiences reminds us that they are just human beings with complicated lives as well, and I think they really appreciate when people treat them as just regular human beings instead of acting star strucked around them.
Steven Tyler is the only rockstar that would dress like a hobo and busk in the streets of any city. Calling him a rockstar would be insulting, he's just godly human.
@Barry McCockiner It was the early 70's, she was 5 months pregnant, and she had suffered serious smoke inhalation and the baby more than likely had brain damage and would have been born severely disabled. He also openly speaks out against abortion now. Now what, you expect him to hate his daughters because of that? If you're going to judge him for something, it should be the fact he was sexually active with a minor you moron.
@Barry McCockiner Lol it's funny that somebody that can't spell words like statutory and convenient would have the nerve to call another person a moron. I'm not arguing against the fact that his family didn't accept her. But, she was in an apartment fire and hospitalized and suffered serious smoke inhalation. She was also actively using cocaine while she was pregnant. "I was at least five months pregnant and Steven coerced me into undergoing a saline abortion while I was in a hospital recovering from a fire that nearly claimed my life. Originally he had asked me to marry him." "She suffered smoke inhalation in a fire in their apartment in 1975 and alleges that, while she was recuperating in the hospital, Tyler pressured her to have an abortion. He expressed reservations about possible damage to the fetus from the fire and from her drug use (she admits to using cocaine, although less, she says, than Tyler)."
I ran into Steven Tyler on Maui. I’m born and raised on that island. Kanaka through and through. This guy is so down to earth, it’s insane. One of the nicest person I’ve ever met.
I got to see how Steven treats people behind the scenes. He is a #1 class act! Kind to everyone. Stops to talk to the guys that no one else gives the time of day to, when he doesn't know anyone is watching him. He is a very genuine person and I think he learned from his own mistakes early in life.
I remember being very impressed with him on American Idol. There was one episode where a guy was auditioning. His girlfriend had had some kind of an accident and was in a wheelchair (also had a brain injury). Tyler asked if his girlfriend was with him. He said yes. Tyler asked him to bring her in. When he did, he was so incredibly kind and sweet to her. He wasn't acting. He wasn't just making nice because of the cameras. He was genuine. He exhibited a level of humanity that we all should strive for. He's been A-OK in my book ever since. I've never met him, and probably never will, but I can't help but think that he's one of the "good guys".
Tyler has had a vacation home in my home town for 30 + years. When he is in the harbor he is very approachable. Nice guy. Took pics with my daughter and would go to the farmer's market on the town common and buy pickled beats from my mother ever week when he was around. Just a nice guy.
Yeah, this was a cool season of Idol. Last season I watched actually. Just couldn’t top Steve Tyler doing a back flip off the stage and into the shallow pool that surrounded the stage that one episode.
I can't believe the hate on for this guy. Steven Tyler is the ultimate rock God, he may not even realize it. He represents everything that a rock God should be. He did tons of drugs, had a horrible record deal where he made peanuts despite writing some of the greatest songs of all time. Not only can he still sing the hits, not only did Aerosmith reinvent themselves record after record, hit after hit, he seems to single handedly decide whether or not Aerosmith plays live. Can we please not forget he MADE Liv Tyler! I don't care if he's still on (designer) drugs, he deserves to get paid American Idol money, he deserves a home in Malibu. This guy is the real deal, he surpassed Robert Plant years ago when Plant was putting out A.C. records with Alison Krauss. Long live Steven Tyler
I can believe the hate he receives because some people are jealous assholes or just assholes. I am not a huge fan of him or the band but I have respect for most people that have accomplished a hell of a lot more than I have. Those that talk shit about him are probably millennials or middle age dicks that have not done anything with their lives and are still living in their parents basements, then there are those who just hate on everything.
bob saget Morrison had everything except the ability to actually sing. Oh, and he died @ 27. Steven Tyler brought himself back from the brink, was able to evolve as a songwriter throughout the decades, & he's still alive, not to mention he's a much better rock singer than JM. I'm not the biggest Aerosmith fan, but I'm even less of a Doors fan, although I do recognize that Morrison was basically the template for future front men
after you said "everything that a rock God should be. He did tons of drugs", Im pretty sure everyone stopped reading. Coming from a person who loves rock and has done tons of drugs, that comment was fucking retarded.
Dear Mr. Tyler, I remember watching the show with my wife and commenting how a beautiful human being you were as a judge, not wanting to talk bad about anyone. Your mom was right, we would never know who you are but now we know. It takes all the modesty and decency in the world to be a good person especially when you were maybe the only person who could have a point criticizing because you are a singer. All your behavior is a sign to me of a great human being you are. May you have a good life and keep influencing others in a good way.
I love Steven Tyler!!!!!!! What a genuine and nice guy. So what if he wanted to buy a big house. Most people want a big house. Also the producers of that show only care about getting the best ratings and views and money etc. They dont really care about people, just themselves.
I still can't believe you got Steven Tyler on.. that's amazing! I'm glad he did the JRE.When it comes to American Idol, he was only reason i watched that American idol show . If anything, I gained even more respect because how humble and polite he was considering he's in the mt rushmore of frontman
He is actually very clean and sober he suffers with hepatitis B and other health ailments and is trying real hard to take care of himself hes actually doing really well !
It made me think he had some attraction to him. Especially after he immediately says, "oh of JLO is beautiful". Shit was so clear, that Joe looked at Jamie like sponge-bob did when he found out Squidward likes Krabby Patties.
Steven's "beautiful guy" comment is a musician to musician thing. Randy is a legit bass player and producer. I can imagine them getting along. Saying someone is a "Beautiful guy" or "cat' is something you'll hear a lot of older musicians say about each other.
TheWolfsan The look is the look spongebob have squidward when he found out he likes Krabby Patties. Tyler definitely had a Freudian slip there, and joe was like, hmmm.
Steven Tyler brought interest to American Idol. I never watch that show unless I’m interested in the judges and getting to see them outside of their performances. It was fun to see him. It doesn’t cheapen them but makes them even more likable.
I saw him at caesars palace, he was waiting in line for a cab, carrying a bunch of shopping bags and he was letting people go in line before him. Taking pictures with people. Seemed like a genuine type guy
People pretend like money isn't a real incentive to do things. I'm so glad he's down to Earth enough to say it like it is "I did it for the money". We ALL work for money, but for some reason when an artist does it we call them a "sellout". They need to eat too, people.
I remember Howard Stern saying the same thing. His attitude was I have kids and if someone trashed their dreams I would kill them something along those lines. Was never a fan of Stern but respect the hell out of him for that.
Steven Taylor is such a great man for having the perspective of never telling a woman she can’t sing, because one day she might wanna sing for her baby and she’ll be discouraged because he told her she can’t sing once.
My sister worked cashier at CVS in Brookline Massachusetts (Coolidge Corner) in late 80's. Steve Tyler one day randomly walked in by himself and purchased a pack of cigarettes and autographed her hand. 👍
He is the man!! He showed another side of him in American idol!! He got a great voice, moves, a great band and he is funny as hell!! Imagine having him as a friend!! He is the fucking man!!
Dream On is my second favorite song right behind How Deep is Your Love by the Beegees. I’m not even old. But good music is good music. Steven wrote Dream On, so he’s alright in my book.

I've found myself star struck meeting Robert Englund. I did not like it he's just a person
That's cool. I like that.

he was feeling good that day, he had some real good fish scale coke.

Calling him a rockstar would be insulting, he's just godly human.
When Steven Tyler did American idol, Aerosmith record sales went through the roof and he said to the band, you're welcome.
Did this happen for real?
He makes 20 million a year off of royalties
Good for you Steven! You put in your dues not to get a good payoff!
*You're

I don’t think anyone does American idol out of love 😂

I didn’t do it for the money, I did it so people could know the real me... that’s what he said
His remarks about not wanting to tell a young woman she can't sing were very thoughtful and nice to hear.
I agree. But why even do American Idol...isn't that the whole point?
@@pookiewookie7679 no, that’s (was) Simon’s job. The whole show is a tournament to see who the best is

I could watch Tyler tell stories ALL day.
He’s incredibly articulate, brilliant and funny 🌹

Julia Roberts has really let herself go....
Dan Garner 💀💀💀😂😂😂

Straight from face book to here really clever
Julia Roberts crossed with Gary Oldman
Does anyone else feel like Steven Tyler looks like how Jack Sparrow would've looked if he time-traveled to 2018?
He has that "pirate look"
Johnny Depp straight up said that he modeled his "Jack Sparrow" after both Stephen Tyler and Keith Richards, if I remember correctly
Haha!
It is Steven come on man! Catch up
Meth? IDK walk that way? ;)
Mr Tyler is a special man. He has a warm soul and I wish him all the best.
His voice held up over the years. That’s rare. He still sounds the exact same when he sings. Fucking awesome.
Exactly!!!!
Insane singer!
Unbelievable talent, drive and work ethic.
Can still ABSOLUTELY KILL “Walk The Way”
