- There’s been a silent war of wits between Abuja and Lagos with residents of both cities trolling each other on social media from time to time, throwing jabs at each other in favour of their preferred city.
Lagos was Nigeria’s capital city before it was moved to Abuja in 1991 howbeit these two cities are opposite in every sense of the word.
Lagos is a bustling, ever alive city reputed for being a land of opportunities and Nigeria’s home of entertainment. It presents a hustling life style that drives its residents to the earliest of wakes and the latest of sleeps. It is Nigeria’s worst traffic jam state.
Abuja on the other hand is a calm, bourgeois city with an air of affluence and class. Abuja is more like an ostrich with beautiful feathers spread to show the calm, serenity and grandeur that is Nigeria.
It is relatively peaceful and very calm hence it is a place to rest head and find some peace.

There are no just Abuja and Lagos as the only two cities in Nigeria that are developed. Do please visit other cities and discover them to realise that there are other developed cities in Nigeria. Portharcourt, Enugwu, Uyo in Akwa Ibom, Kano and many others. So this competition is senseless.
