These shoes are so cute I got a pair today and decided to walk home with them (about 30 minutes) to help break them in a little bit, but they cut the crap out of my ankle bone and Achilles heel!!!!! They're so cute and comfy and they fit well but they hurt to break in on bare feet
How did it go? I received mine yesterday and I couldn't wear them for even one minute (not exaggerating). It just digs into my ankles (my bones stick out quite a lot). I already sent them back. 😭 Now i am wondering if I made a mistake and should've tried to break into them.
I had the same problem ended up with a lot of blisters done some research steeped them in a bucket of hot water then put them on and after doing this few times they are super comfy 👌

I got the taller gladiator sandal. For me they're harder to break in compared to the boots mine also have a lot more straps. I've got several pairs of boots and I've been able to wear them right from the beginning for hours. I recommend like she said to wear the sandals for short amounts of time. I also just read somewhere to wear sandals with thick sounds around the house to help with break in they also said to heat them with a haird ryer while wearing and allow them to cool.

I bought vegan sandals but different model and they definitely needed to breake them in, in my case. I felt pain especially in little toe . Also, what was quite strange, i felt pain in my big toe, like under nail in that place where you move your fingers up during walk and touching the shoe. But it took me a little to dont feel any pain right now. I can say that after all they are very comfortable, the sole is super soft. Definitely buy them before any trip, and check if you have to breake them in. I tried brickenstock but my feet dont fit that specific sole and it vas very painful for me. But what i can say is that martens are not the best option for very hot summer, caouse its started to be slippery when your foot is getting to sweat, and they dont breath if you know what i mean. Also i can recomend "FORSTER" model for longer trips. They dont need braking in at all.
god i got the francis ones and one of them is still too tight but i do have a massively wide foot lmao but i love them sm i’m currently sitting here with socks on and a spoon shoved in them too to try and stretch them 😂

Honestly after wearing them a couple more times with really big bandaids to protect the back of my ankles where I got blisters, they broke in easily without doing anything extra and now I adore them. They're so cute and while they're not the most comfortable shoes in the world, I can definitely wear them out and about for a while without any trouble. I still do wear big bandaids on my ankle area to prevent blisters though
Just brought some today and the sales assistant said I didn’t need a spray protectant by the wax moisturiser can help in the first few weeks from getting cut up feet.
You asked what other sandals DM people might wear - Chaco Mega Cloud! They are so comfortable and aren't damaged by submerging in water and have big thick straps.
These are much lighter than the clarisa quad 2 which weigh alot but you don't notice it to be honest. I recommend both .....don't size down a whole size . I am 7.5 I got a 7 . I think the size match the 1460 sizes
I am usually a 7-7.5 in shoes and i had to get the size 6, my ankle was flailing around and my toes kept slipping out of the 7. I can’t wait to wear them I’m obsesssed

I have Birkenstock but like slides and I cannot walk long distance with slides. I just got the doc martens sandals with the long laces in white and first they are not true to size, the stitches are itching right away and at the calves somethings wrong with them. Any tips to prevent my heel from slipping out the back? I tightened it to the point it hurts and it still slides out the back but it’s only my right shoe that does it lol
I am having this same exact problem too! I cant return them but it feels awkward walking in them with the heel slipping out. not sure what to do that will fix it

Get an 8 for sure. Because for example I usually wear like a size 10 or 10 1/2, and I ended up getting a 10, my toes dont even pass the first strap loll. I’m gonna have to go back tm 😭
DO NOT BUY THEM. I just bought mine and the sole ripped. The sole literally came off and now I’m left with an expensive sandal that isn’t good quality. I thought it was going to be good quality but apparently not
@@Yikkoofficial I actually have never heard about this kind of defect. I have 3 pairs of sandals and everything is fine. But i guess it depends. But with my experience i wouldnt say that the quaility is bad. Hope you will be able to resolve your problem!

i wore socks the entire time i was breaking them in, lol they are super super uncomfy to break in

I got these and they were too narrow for me! If anyone has wide feet, get the Voss II they are amazing!!

I would definitely recommend vegan. There's not a huge difference. They feel slightly different but they are still very durable and high quality.
From my experience, vegan 'leather' isn't nearly as durable, and is also not as good for the environment as leather proper :)

Maybe try bringing it to the shoe repair place to add 1 more hole so you can tighten it again? If you really liked it @laiba
