I was working on 09 murano, changing one of the coils, and I took the intake off, and when I heard little something fell and for sure a little md*** nut fell inside the holes of the engine I find out it was because when I started the engine I can hear the little f**thing bouncing
      My cuestion is what I can do? Or where those stupid things go when they fell inside
      Can I take the valve cover gasket?

    I specialize in engine repairs and head gaskets and I do like the block tester test but I always back it up with a leak down test if the color doesn’t change! Put 100 pounds of pressure in the cylinders and you’ll see bubbles in the radiator coolant . Air does not lie.

    • @MindsDozer
      @MindsDozer Před 10 měsíci +3

      Ok, but it's possible to have an hg leak that only shows up at Max load, which could be as high as 1000psi

      It actually does sometimes! That cylinder produces way more than 100 psi on a combustion event. I've had engines pass the air test and fail the HC test with a gas analyzer. That was always my go to test. Never missed one! I can't say I trust the CO2 gases the same way.

      @@ScannerDanner well shit you got me thinking now ! Now I’m thinking about the combustion block test is while the engine is running and hot meanwhile, I always do a leak down test with a cold engine! I wonder if that’s a difference there? you know how things tend to get hot and aluminum swells a little bit maybe showing its true colors while it’s hot ? 🧐

    I had a customer tow in a Lincoln navigator right at the end of the day yesterday. He thought the motor had blew oil all over his engine bay as he was coming back to San Diego from up north. As soon as he got to my shop, I popped the hood open to check the oil to see if I could even attempt to start the truck and I noticed the upper radiator hose had completely blown off. I’m getting ready to head to my shop and see if he hurt the motor, but it seem to run fine yesterday for the 45 seconds or so that I had it running. I made sure to let him know I need to check for engine damage first.

    Scrapped my daily driver back in January due to head gasket issue which appear a couple of weeks after a broken auxiliary belt in traffic. a Rover with a BMW M47R turbo diesel😮 crammed in. Over the decades changed maybe 100 0r 200 or more head gaskets over the years looked at the official procedure for that car engine combination and seriously restricted access and given January's cold horrible weather it was either an engine out job or it would be quicker to do an engine swap or just easier to find another car.
    Interestingly I did a low pressure test on the cooling system and the leak into the oil pan became much worse after the test

    Mine has a squeeze bulb at the top and two separate compartments one over the other for a double test. Never seen it be wrong if it is indicating a bad gasket but occasionally seen it not pick up a slight problem. My tester said in the instructions to reset the fluid by drawing air through it. It's basically a pH test.

    Hey Paul I see you are a very smart man, however when I saw you pulling air in thru that block test liquid just told me the concern of the repair you lost your mind to prove a point. Use the car's eng vacuum to save your lungs. Pushing out no problems but intake, well they are your lungs. Now that test you just did is not really a valid one because you did not have moving coolant because pump was down. As one of the comments 100 psi is the better way . But you did say that due to the condition the head gasket may fail sooner or later and any customer has to realize this unless they are the ones that think everyone should pay for their screw up. I'm quite sure that water pump was making some kind of noise but the tunes canceled the sound. Yes I was a young kid once upon a time, stuff happens. CYA every time Mr customer due to you overheating this excessively due to no coolant in the system I really am not thrilled to replace the W/P thermostat because it may be a ticking time bomb before the head gasket will expire or something in that order, the choice is yours but you are warned. What would you like to do with your vehicle that has 100K 200K on it ? Please never suck with your lungs that is why they got vacuum pumps for, stay healthy I learn from your video's even though I retired from a MB dealership.
