I have a 2012 Mini Cooper. Basically the same one in the video above. Same dashboard and menus etc. When I go to menu I have no phone option yet I have the buttons for it and every other option the car could have. From what I have read there is a good chance that option was not added to the car. I've also read that the device that enables this function may not be functioning and the Mini dealer may need to look and see. (I bought it from a different second hand dealer not Mini.) I am going to call them this week and see what, if anything, can be done. I may just have to live without it or add an after market piece. I'll update again.

most mini coopers,come with the blue tooh emblems,in the steering wheel,unless you see the phone mode in the radio,they are not working,you have to change the radio,we have a 2010 s,and we have to replace the radio,for it to work

Eden Panayi there's only a call audio function- pretty sure music audio was an additional option on r56 and r50-53's whereas it's basically standard on the f56s now.

Actually, that's not it. There's two buttons on the steering wheel. One with the phone and one with the person talking. Nothing tells you what the difference between the two is and the one with the person talking does absolutely nothing. My iPhone says it's a Cartalk option but of course there is no instructions on how to set it up in the manual. The mini manual is one of the worst I've ever seen

I've just connected a new Nexus 5 to my Mini. The controls on my steering wheel and voice commends are not activating my phone even though it's paired to it. If I answer the phone directly on the phone, the Mini takes over the conversation to talk/listen through the Mini, but I can't initiate or answer calls using my steering wheel controls. It worked perfectly on a previous HTC EVO 3D phone. This is on an 07 Cooper R56. Any help?

Hi, Great video! I've paired my bluetooth to my countryman and the call functioning works fine but is there any way to play the music from my android phone on the car's audio system through bluetooth, not thru usb or mini connected (which I don't have)?

usb flashdrive works with steering wheel controls and song display on radio OR aux cord only to play songs from phone but steering wheel controls won't work.

Lots of problems with it, I'll never buy a mini again. The only mini I'll ever buy is de old model from the 60's :):):) for pleasure and an bmw x1 for winter :):):)

Don't even try to do this in your BMW.. You need to find PIN passkey number in the trunk underneath the side wall. My dad was like wtf .. /watch?v=-ICJQkdyr4Q.
