      Perhaps if we didn't just come through countless riots and looting orgies burning down our cities I could get a little more excited about June Teenth. This is actually a genuine and heartfelt observance for people in TX but nationally it is DNC BS. Thank god we don't have slavery but also thank god we don't have communism or socialism which are also slavery. Yet so many are walking right back into bondage.

      Are you implying when African-Americans hear that initially africans sold blacks as slaves, people are shocked. If so, instead of saying “them” state your subject. Additionally, state the fact of the matter so everyone is educated about the event. It’s not a secret nor should it be. And if “them” is blacks, your wrong. Not every African-American is brought up the same way with the same education. It is not the Jim Crow era. And even then not every African American is the same. In the end, a closed mindset as such is part of the problem.

      They're trying to rewrite history in their image. Here's a fun hypocrisy fact, it's considered to be okay for every race but the white race to have groups, orgs, association's, tv channels, awards shows, holidays, etc, dedicated to their race but anything and everything white is racist.

    • @Matt-mh5ud
      @Matt-mh5ud Před 4 lety

      @@imanicooper123123 Sure, we could say black, because I didn't know Juneteenth was inclusive of anyone else. This isn't a story over Jim Crow either because the history of the Democrat party can become a very lengthy conversation. I disagree with the mindset though, victim-hood and modern culture within the black community has become a huge issue. I grew up in a mixed society. Four of my best friends were black. But I had a dad, wasn't surrounded by a culture of violence and alpha-ism while trying to indoctrinate me to feel anger toward people that didn't look like me, and blame everyone else for my shortcomings. Learning responsibility and good from poor choices also helps shape people for adulthood; staying out of prison is not difficult regardless of skin color. Starts with the family and I'm sorry to say this, we have some very lousy moms and dads today.

    You simply can’t blame every single person by the actions of
    other individuals! If we used that same logic then one could blame every single person of a different “group” as cop killers, right? Not a single one of my black friends consider me personally as a racist yet the narrative you force says that I am for the only reason as I was born white. This is not justice either, is it? I totally agree that Brown, Floyd, etc. were murdered but There are 300 million other whites that didn’t pull the trigger. When you group an entire race as evil, that act makes you the one who has a problem, not me. Whites also get shot by the cops, intentionally or not who’s to say.

      Ethan Rhodes They say that we are oppressors because of our so-called “white privilege”, which is an idea that is the very definition of racism itself. Privilege is not defined by one’s race, but rather by an individual standard. If a black person has a stable job and family, while a white person is homeless with no one to support him, who is really the one that is privileged here? BLM was very smart in the way that they created their organization. Here are the steps they followed to create it:
      1. Create a name that is seemingly uncontroversial. “Black Lives Matter” is as uncontroversial as it gets- who doesn’t agree with it?
      2. Use the supporters of the movement to push your ideas. The BLM’s leaders have literally admitted to being a Marxist organization (how does Marxism have anything to do with racial equality?)
      3. Call anyone who disagrees with the movement a racist. Suggest that if they disagree with you, then they don’t agree that black lives matter.

    • @beepot2764
      @beepot2764 Před 4 lety

      People aren't saying all white people are evil, but the fact that we have stood by silent for many many years does put some of the blame on both individual and race. if you're white and not speaking up, standing up to your family, having difficult conversations, supporting BLM and protecting protesters, actually getting out there with your body and actions showing hey! I do not stand for this injustice and we will not stop until it's right, then you are part of the problem. it's not enough to say "hey me the individual has never hurt you", because ok so what are you the individual doing to help stop systemic racism. I know from experience that my answer used to be "wtf can I actually do?". stop feeling guilty and do something, even if you don't protest physically be vocal online, be willing to be educated, be ready to listen, you'll find that the only people being hated are racists.

      I guess you could say that. I think it's a bigger thing in the south and especially Texas. I was born on Seattle and raised in Portland Oregon and I have celebrated Juneteenth with my family every year of my life which is 43 years, but my family is from Texas. The vast majority of them still live there. Some cities have parades and other festivals but it's really a day when the black communities come together and remember our ancestors and celebrate the day that the slaves in Texas learned they were free two years and nearly six months after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed and went into effect. Many if not all of us call it free-ish. The shirt I wear today and every June 19th says free-ish since 1865. There are probably some documentaries here on CZcams that talk about it. Thank you for being respectful and asking. Some of the comments aren't very nice but it is a day that is celebrated all across the country. I think it really depends on the area in which you live and where one's ancestors migrated from. It's just a day for community, love, food, music, and celebration. Much like July 4th without the fireworks.

    Believe that black communities know what Juneteenth is! U might have just become aware, but it is celebrated and acknowledged. Respect it please. This is coming from a Latina that grew up in a black community. I am a college grad, veteran and retired nurse. My black community helped me achieve all of my successes. Black people have been mistreated and treated unfairly all of their lives. I’ve witnessed it all of my life first hand. BLM. Happy Juneteenth!

Why are people of color not mentioned in the Constitution because maybe the Forefathers had never dreamed to put them in (Slaves) Lincoln wanted to send the slaves back home because America said that they (Slaves) were too uneducated and uncivilized to be in a civilized country (Looks a lot like today) so what are the issues?

    WTF is she talking about? All Juneteenth commemorates is a union general marching into Galveston and telling slaves that they’re free pursuant to the emancipation proclamation. The emancipation proclamation was a war powers tactic to cripple the rebellion not free the slaves. Essentially, it told the states in rebellion that they could either rejoin the union and keep their slaves or remain outside the union and their slaves would be declared free. Of course, the states in rebellion ignored the threat. I can see how slaves would welcome freedom no matter how they got it but I really don’t see why anyone would celebrate being used as a pawn.
