- the mc chris cartoon has been a dream of mine since i released my first album in 2001. that's 12 years of dreams! after being turned down by my alma mater Adult Swim, where I starred in and helped animate shows like Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Sealab 2021 and The Brak Show, I went to my fan base and asked them for the dough via kickstarter.com.
Well in a month and a half we raised the money we needed and were able to go into production with Titmouse Animation (Venture Brothers, Super Jail, Black Dynamite, Metalocalypse, Afro Samurai, GI Joe Resolute) We finished the sound with JC Richardson (Archer) and made a trailer that we put up on You Tube. We were then able to go into development with a different network, and pilot script was written with Super Jail and Home Movies scribe Janine DiTullio.
Unfortunately or fortunately, depending upon how you look at it, in spite of signing a six episode contract, the show was recently dropped. But the good news is: now it's available to whomever is interested!
I've got 200,000 fans that have been waiting for this cartoon since I first premiered on Adult Swim and now you can you have that big chunk of viewership with a pretty bow on top. Remember this is just a pitch so the animation isn't done, it's only half of the pilot script and there are numerous things that will feel incomplete. The final version will look much different, have different characters, different dialogue, but this is the gist.
I hope you enjoy it and I hope that if you have a dream, you never give up on it. no matter how many no's you might hear.

you realize that this is at least half the length of an episode and the first minute was basically the same as someone describing the setting. it also makes references to the skits on his albums. I kinda agree with the don't get me started part, but that did make this memorable and could gain twitter support with it and help the show get picked up

Where is Adult swim right now? MC has been helping William Street for years! Chris has payed his dues, and deserves to at least have a pilot air at least. He has worked on, Sealab 2012, Welcome to Eltingville, The Brak Show, ATHF, Space Ghost, Ergo Proxy, Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell. He is a Nerdcore icon! You would think William Street would notice one of there biggest helpers for the network, with that much fame. He is/has been a great asset for William Street. MC has a huge fan base and there are die hard adult swim fans such as myself. This is a great concept, truely. This has great potential William Street, dont pass it up...
unfortunately paying your dues working at Adult Swim ( and essentially bringing it into popularity) means getting fired down the road. Adult Swim is just like the generation it panders to, complete masochists.

No disrespect to Adult Swim but I've seen a hell of a lot of boring garbage on that network and for them to turn down The MC Chris Cartoon is really baffling to me. Just from watching this 6 minute clip I can see all the potential in the world for this thing. I found it very funny and I love the idea of song breaks. I really really hope that this turns into a full season somehow someday. Much respect to you MC Chris!

mc chris posts this like a bajillion times a day and each time I watch it. Not because it's there, not because I want him to get the views, but because I genuinely want to see it every time. I like it as a cartoon, not just as fan fodder. It has the same wit and humor as any cartoon with a huge writing staff, and a promising premise. I haven't seen a full episode yet and it already has crazy rerun value, like all those years of Futurama on [as].

MC Chris is Dreaming is quite possibly the best album of my lifetime. This guy is genius and I hope he eventually gets to fully realize his ideas.

TheRevenant 360 Superjail is just shock imagery; that's it, really. I've only seen some of it, but that was all I needed.
JEEVES635 I have seen some slower-paced episodes when there was barely any of It, mainly the one where the gay couple get married, It barely affected me unlike anyother episode. But Mr. Pickles Is shock Imagery as well, I really just think Rick and Morty Is the best Adult-Swim show out there.
TheRevenant 360 Oh, Rick And Morty is definitely the best AS show right now. I was just trying to point out that this show would have been better than a lot of what I've seen on AS lately. Cancel Mr. Pickles and put this on. Very little people would care, but it's still a better waste of time, and not nauseating to look at. :p
I support you and all but for the pilot you're meant to pull us all in bruh, not bore us with repetitive and cliche moments and plus the jokes aspect were either good or just horrible......the ally was funny......the don't get me started, didn't get my laughing engines started

I had to turn i off at 3;21. I had forgiven MC Chris for the whole twitter/bouncer/reddit breakdown/insult/apology/breakdown/insult some more thing.... I even got to the point to where I could listen to his music again. But something about a tiny kid version of him saying "Don't get me started" back and forth with an adult was too ironic and it made me cringe.
I was a big fan, dude. I even paid for your shit to support you and allow you to make more shit. I just can't handle people that berate fans.
I hope you find whatever peace you need. Seriously. That way you could put it into a kickass cartoon with a rap theme or rap with a cartoon video. Doesn't even have to be a rap. I do like the idea of an underground childlike nerdcore rap artist taking on every possible apocalyptic scenario in an alternate future timeline while jumping into several other alternate dimensions to recover artifacts for his producer for unknown and most likely nefarious purposes, all while performing shows with the robot owl from Clash of the Titans.

this is such a great show. a lot better than a lot of things on right now. it makes me sad when i see amazing shows like this not getting picked up. adult swim is really missing out, for not picking up this or the Hellbenders animation.

Love it MC, keep up the good work. The doors / alternate universe mechanic really leaves you a lot of open space for future episodes. Would be really nice to see something happen with AS, but any network to pick you up would be lucky. The DGMS bit was excellent. Also, your choice in supporting voice actors thus far has been great! Keep fighting the fight!

Love it MC, already hilarious. The characters are great and the background is a brilliant, zombies, aliens, robots dimensional treasure hunting, lots of fun with loads of room for stories. Animation is good too, surprised this is the rough cut as looks great.

I just watched this 3 times in a row. I would like to hear more mc chris in the opening sequence. I would also like to see more of the space crocs, the zombie apocalypse, the couple upstairs, the dinosaurs, the robot overlords and the dimensional portals. Pretty much, just more. And your owl sidekick is awesome.

I love what I see so far, there is so much you can do with the past skits on albums and tons of cool mc related stuff I know fans will love. If no one will pick it up you should just make it a webseries and sell it on itunes or something to make dough! I've been an animation fan in general (including anime) since I was a kid so I know something good when I see it!

An excellent premise to work from! With a colorful character like Mc Chris, putting him into a post apocalyptic world s well as giving the chance for extradimensional travel the palette of places this series can go is enormous. The amount of people it can appeal to grows with every new place the cartoon can take itself, and MC Chris' humor and his over all style will make this one to remember. SOMEONE PICK THIS UP AND MAKE SOME MONEY!

The humor kept on coming. It made me feel like a kid again watching my favorite Saturday morning cartoon, something just clicked in my head and I knew I loved this show, and this is all before the plot even came in, which has so much possibility. Inter-dimensional treasure hunting? Genius to the nth degree. I want this show something fierce. Visually it's beautiful as well. Some of the best work I've seen.
This is some fresh, hip animation! With all the low-quality shows that are on the air, I can't understand why something this good isn't on right now!

I must see more. I wanted to cry with each passing second because that was a second closer to it being over. My 2 year old son loves it just as much as me. Now he's running around singing "Don't get me started!". I love it.
I would really love to see how this whole thing would flesh out, at least for one season. Whatever channel deserted this will be kicking themselves when this thing does get made. For real, give it a shot for one season. I would renew my cable television just to watch this show.
Favorite Parts: T-Rexes/dialogue, The don't get me started song(just not the intro to it), The robot's control everything was funny, Wild West Mars, the possibility of inter-dimensional travel in general is neat, and opens up a lot of cool ideas especially with a cartoon.
Your work in the past was great with other shows, and your music is inventive, I think you would make excellent cartoons given the chance. You have quite the following as well, so that would make for a large viewing audience.

I think this is one of the BEST cartoons, I've watched in a long time. It's focused on adult humor but incorporates graphics I can relate to my childhood. Now, that I'm older and still a nerd I crave something that will let me watch a good ole cartoon that relates to my age, interest, and older days. I love the graphics, LOVED the characters, and LOVE MC! PLEASE GIVE HIM HIS CHANCE!WE ARE ALL BEGGING! GO MC!!!!!!NEVER GIVE UP! MC GIVES ALL OF US HOPE WHEN WE HAVE NOTHING LEFT. SO WE R HERE 4 HIM
Solid concept, solid voice acting, and an animation style that just feels appropriate. The pitch has a great sense of humor, and I see a lot of potential for self-mockery and an awareness of clichés in cartoons, music, and geekery in general. Overall, I like it a lot. The repeated "don't get me started" is a bit much for my tastes, but as with all things, it adds to the unique flavor and personality of the pitch as a whole. 10/10 would watch.
Huge fan of the pitch, and love that "don't get me started" has become something of a meme among fans, a thing we can say and other fans will recognize. Also I'm super psyched about the infinite possibilities for episodes that these doors present!
I keep coming back to watch this over and over. I need more, please!! I really want to know more about the alien crocodiles and the dinosaurs...but mostly mc chris! This is just what I'm looking for, a show with imagination going on! An apocalypse with so much going on in it has endless potential!
The potential for MC to blow us out of the water is near infinite with this set up. Anyone who watches this with the intent to evaluate it for a possible pick up needs to remember that the Geek community is a gigantic financial force, and MC is one of us. Let him entertain us. You'll make bank.
From what I've seen so far this show looks at least ten times better than anything adult swim has pushed out in the last five years. Keep up the good work MC!

This is surprisingly good. Not only is it funny but It actually made me laugh. Out loud. And not in a 'lol that's funny' way but with actual laugh noises. I would pay to watch this.
My 4 year old who is a fan of yours wanted nothing to do with this cartoon. My 7 year old who was a self professed hater of mc chris, surprisingly really enjoyed this! When it started he was not stoked with the idea of having to watch this cartoon, but when it ended he had a big smile on his face and said "it was really funny and cool!" he even insisted on typing out the "and cool" part... so good job mc, if it gets picked up you'll have at least one viewer!
