    Great Ken, your tests were successful! That fan cover is nice! Yup, Ken the stud in the middle! Don't forget yourself! And you didn't! Thanks for explaining about the feed wire. That's too bad the shower has bowed out. I hope you can straighten it out with the stud. You did! Nice job getting the stud frames up for the walls. It's exciting to watch you put up the inner short wall in the bathroom. I like the idea of the single ceiling light over a chair in the corner. You have a great sense of style Ken. I like the way you put the switch boxes up. The place for the wood stove and the Murphy bed with the folding table and chairs are perfect places for them. It's great that the fuse box can be in a closet. The design sounds so great! The pullets look happy. When the hens start laying the eggs they are usually smaller at first and then they go to full size. The garden looks wonderful Ken! Thanks for this video!

    One thing I just thought of is securing that sliding door for the bathroom, so it doesn't move while on the road. Same goes for any kitchen cabinets / drawers. Water heater will need to be secured as well. BTW, national wiring code says no breaker panels in a closet... and 2 circuits for a kitchen counter. With the lighter wire (#14) that will be important if someone uses a toaster oven or electric heater. Might as well do several home runs to the panel for the living area while you are at it. Also consider doing that exterior outlet on its own breaker. (power tools?) You mentioned you already have a large panel, and breakers are only $10.

The girls will take it in as they need it. That might be one indication a hen is getting closer to laying. They somehow know when they need the extra calcium.

    A suggestion for the shower. I always put in a handheld on a slide rod. That way it is the right height for every user. I skip the shower/tub valve and use tub only so the hose connects below the faucet and loops up to the showerhead. You planned to have no baseboard so as to not decrease the usable space. How do you get enough clearance for a woodstove in such a small house?

    So how does the pocket door slide back through that 2x4 stud? I think you really should have used sideways studs and a thicker wall, so you could put the door between them. It's a good idea to incorporate the pocket door kit as you build the wall it goes in. For the dining table, you can use simple bench seats to help support the Murphy bed when it's down. Then you just need a fold-down table attached to the Murphy bed frame.

    • @RedRavenNine
      @RedRavenNine Před 2 měsíci

      I thought the same thing on the pocket door, but assume he is going with a barn style sliding door that just hangs on the wall. I think in a small space like that I would have went with a pocket door to prevent things stacking against it, and to allow for switches on the wall etc.

    • @DiscoFang
      @DiscoFang Před 2 měsíci

      Pocket door bought as a whole assembly doesn’t require sideways studs, the structure of the pocket assembly substitutes the studs. The wall would have been exactly the same thickness and the t&g cladding would have worked well with it. However trying slip AC wiring into either side of the wall could be problematic but surface mount conduit or slimline trunking would be fine on the bathroom side hugging the door frame trim.

    • @rupe53
      @rupe53 Před 2 měsíci

      you can pull 1500 watts on #14 and be within the 80% rule so as long as he makes several runs back to the panel it will be ok. Technically, the kitchen and bath should be on different circuits... and 2 circuits for a kitchen counter.

      @@kenskarpentry I understand. My neighbors had a couple of roosters. They crowed all the time. 😵‍💫
      But, when my pastor shared how Jesus predicted the rooster would crow after Per denied him three times…it was a revelation of God’s greatness.
      Three different times through the night Peter was asked. And not once did the rooster crow until the third denial.
      Only God could hold back the voice of that rooster until that opportune moment.
      And Peter was so ashamed of himself. But Jesus said that He would pray for Peter to be strong through the sifting from Satan.
