For those who have problems in windows 10, there's a solution here. The reason for low volume is because of the default mic gain. You should go to the sound control panel. If you have the latest version of windows 10, you probably have a hard time to find it by following the steps in the video. You first need to right click the speaker icon in the taskbar, then click "Open Sound settings", then scroll down and you will find the Sound Control Panel. In 1:10, you need to click the Samson C01U Pro Mic, then you need to click the properties, then the levels and you will find the mic gain. Then you finally have the contol to mic level. The best level for this mic is around 15db to 30db.
Doesn't it increase the noise as well?

What software do you use to record on windows 10?
Will I be able to use this usb condenser microphone or the G-Track microphone directly in my iPhone or iPad with a usb camera adapter or OTG USB adapter? I have a recording app I like to use called Spire. Also will I be able edit my recorded music with effects with the software that comes with the Samson G-Track usb microphone? Recently I’ve been using Audacity and another on my iPad called WavPad. I do understand that the mic your reviewing here does not have that editing program. Thanks,
Microphone worked absolutely fine then suddenly, midway through using it as usual, watching a movie, not touching the PC at all, it went down to low volume and I have been unable to fix it since. It appears to be a Window 10 problem. A previous comment here suggests looking at the gain but there is no gain option. It is practically unusable and the problem seems to lie in the drivers that Windows 10 has for it. Could Samson help at all with this? It's been a great microphone.

@@jeremyguiab its the windows operating system if your on windows specifially windows 8 or windows 10 you are out of luck as those operating system's audio drivers dont work with this mic and mostly all usb mics the only solution is to go back to windows 7 where this mic will work properly... u can find more information on this by researching it just ype in "win10/8 and usb mic problem".

@The Caring Adolf Hitler yea a solution is to download windows 7 and dual boot your machine (look it up on youtube its not that hard) , a better solution is to ditch the idea of usb mic's completly and get an xlr setup.

Hi There! I just bought this mic about a month ago, loving it but now the light is not on and it's not detectable on my macbook Air or garageband, what to do? Please HELP! Thank you

Hey! I wanna ask, do you experience any playback delay with this? I'm thinking of buying this mic!
Sound comes through fine but Cubase does not pick up signal. Tried so many different approaches. Even asio4all. Nothing. Hope somebody reads this that can help. Nothing on forums etc has helped.

the stand doesn't fit the microphone? they sent the wrong stand with an adapter for the tripod inserted?
its confusingg but u screw on the round part at the bottom after the mic is in the tripod
I didn’t come with the tripod I remove the adapter that was inside of that to fit the tripod. And screwed it The mic stand
How did you install the device so that it sticks to the base like that? Mine doesn't screw into the base like it should...so annoying!
So... the audio software on your computer that is active when you plug this into your USB computer port will * not * automatically detect the microphone as input...? I.e., you have to change t4 input setting on the computer, as shown, AND physically set input n whatever recording software ou choose?

I purchased a brand new meteor mic and it says it comes with free sound deck software but when i went to download it, it only gave me a driver i thing, no actual software to "use". please clarif what this sound deck software is???? Great Microphone, but it's a shame that Microsoft or Samson never fixed the problem with low volume on Windows 10. Considering sell this microphone to buy a XLR one.
@June@97 It works fine between 90-100% of sensibility. But it's different when compared to how it works in other windows (7 and below) and Mac, which is possible to have a good capture around 30-40%. But it's not a problem with the mic, it's something of Windows 10.
@June@97 never tested in Linux, I have already tested in Windows XP and 7 and not just the recording volume was better, but I found the sound clearer than Win 10.

Try with Asio4all audio drivers, download it on internet.

HI, my recordings are really quite on Win10 with the C01U Pro. Is there any fix available for it ? Gain is at 75 but the static noise is already really bad. Recorded audio is -55dB based on the recording software...
here as well , static noise is insanely loud , even when the mic volume is zero .
Sadly it is the drivers that are in use...since the mic uses windows base usbaudio drivers it is the same as most USB mics. I had to return it and opt-in for a Focusrite Scarlett Solo interface with its own drivers. Not an issue since with a cheap BM-800 mic.
yea... i have seen so many posts about this issue on the internet , am sad i have to re-record tons of vocals i already recorded , and buy myself another condenser :(

same on mac, i have the non pro version.
Have non-pro version of the C01u. DVD was corrupted. Copied install files over to USB, could not read some of the manual pdf's out, no biggie. At least install would run further and bring up second and third dialog window. Needs Serial Number to be entered to continue. Serial Number not found ANYWHERE! Call tech support, they say on bottom of the box. Enter the values on the bar code (which there are two, neither designated as serial number) neither works. Great, try the other barcode numbers sprinkled around the box, nope. Nothing on mic itself, where is probably where it should be. Great product: Useless w/o software. Will collect dust somewhere. Oh well, it looks nice.
Edit: Received new serial number for tech support. It fails too. Avoid this mic is what these events tell me.

+Ricardo Muñoz Yep works perfectly - excellent mic! Note the Samson C01U Pro is a supercardioid condenser mic so place mic facing you (led pointing at your neck area) - i.e. mic is vertical 7-10 inch from your mouth. Supercardioid means high frequencies and sound pick up from behind the mic is reduced proportionately. This helps dampen sounds coming from anywhere except the +/-120 degree arc in front of the mic.

This is bad mic. Dont buy this. Low volume and if you turn up volume, noise will come up too.
