I will never complain about my skin again. The pain that poor girl had to go through is unimaginable
And it's not just physical pain, it's emotional pain as well. You hate what you see in the mirror every day and mean people out in the world make terrible comments or just system. It is rough. Mine was not as severe as hers but I understand how deep the pain can be.
That part. I can only imagine the layers of pain and trauma she endured. What an amazing transformation 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Actually, my respect and best wishes. It. Takes so much courage,/ selflessness to appear as you are, and still the confidence to laugh and cry in private. Walking your path where you know all too well there's no none😮
It's just all too much when you are a teen .

@@WhitneyDahlin depends, after puberty she'll probably wont have it at all or have some regular average acne. Right now during it if she goes off it'll most likely come back ( i am not 100% sure if anyone who knows more about this wants to correct me go ahead)

God bless this young lady for sharing and this doctor for explaining. Tonight, I was literally crying because I have all kind scar all over, and they affect my esteem, but I can be brave and confident like this young. Thank God for your healing.
I am going to tell you something your doctor may not have -- Accutane works via the mechanism of damaging your body. It is not "IF" it damages you, it is more "when" or "how severely". You may be 100% ok WHILE TAKING the medication, but that doesn't mean it won't harm you. The serious damage (literally everything listed on the insert, and more) may begin to happen to you not while on the medication but months or even years after you stop taking it.
The very mechanism of accutane is quite literally cell death (bodywide apoptosis). It is a chemotherapeutic drug. The cell death is not limited to sebaceous glands of the skin, but actually occurs everywhere, including stem cells which, once permanently damaged, do not replenish themselves - hence the permanent effects of acne clearance. This explains the "post-exposure delayed toxicity" that is seen with accutane and other chemotherapeutic drugs that also work through cytotoxic / stem-cell killing mechanisms. The permanent damage from this medication can happen after it is discontinued (months or years down the line) even without side effects or any warnings/abnormal blood results when you are taking it. Just be warned, this drug could seriously ruin your body (eyes, bones, joints, hair, teeth, spine, skin, brain, nerves, tendons, ligaments) for the rest of your life, and it can happen to you in the future, even if you're ok now....so once you've been exposed to this drug, you are never safe and you never know what will happen. This happened to me despite normal/mild side effects while taking the drug. The damage suddenly set in about 5 months after I stopped taking it. I took a 'low' dose, only 20mg/day. Everything was fine and dandy while I took the drug...I exercised, went to school, my blood labs were normal. Years later I still have such severe damage that I'm barely able to walk.
In addition to bodywide apoptosis and stem cell death, accutane also creates permanent gene expression changes (in more than 500 genes), DNA oxidative damage, and direct oxidative damage to every tissue of your body. There are studies that prove that accutane causes downregulation (a change in genetic expression which decreases) of collagen (the literal framework/scaffolding of your body), elastin (keeps your skin resilient and stretchy), and hyaluronic acid (the "water-holding molecule" that keeps your skin and joints youthful) - all CRITICAL proteins in ALL connective tissues that keep you looking and feeling youthful. So, quite literally, this drug AGES you. Accutane also downregulates telomerase, a protein that repairs damaged/broken DNA and is associated with biological youth. Have you ever noticed that someone who took accutane looks "older" or "less youthful"? These are the reasons why.
Doctors consistently try to deny the existence of delayed post-exposure effects (they say that effects only happen while on the drug, not weeks/months/years after stopping the drug) but this has similarly happened to countless others (thousands) as well and isn't rare. Taking accutane is certainly a choice, but most people are not fully aware of how awful it is to everyone who takes it and what kind of risks you are truly taking for your future health.
It doesn't cause permanent damage. The only thing it can cause is infertility in women. But even that doesn't last.
Prolonged dehydration can cause accelerated aging.
It took 2 years but i have absolutely no side effects now.
We can see her smile growing as well.. this might have given her lots of confidence. Happy for her ❤️
As someone who currently has acne (nowhere near bad as this, but still not fun), I feel for her SO hard. The combination of the painful cysts on your face with the absolutely abysmal self esteem of having something that is deemed ‘disgusting’… It’s horrible, I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. I’m so glad that she’s getting the treatment that she needs, she looks so much happier in the later months!!
I'm glad she healed!
The thought of how people must've looked at her for having such bad acne makes me wanna sob. I'm so happy the treatment worked for her!!
Accutane was intense for me but so worth it. Nothing else was working for my severe acne. So happy to see it help other patients! Very cool
It’s a horrifically dangerous medication. Watch out for health problems down the road ⚠️
The thing is, some acne is food allergy. Knew someone once, who had the ridged skin, pustules. Turned out chocolate was the problem; their scarring / pustules completely cleared up in 2 weeks, leaving clean, clear skin, as if the acne never happened, no medication involved; I was totally amazed!
Dont lose hope - check your food and detox, as well as working with your doctor.🤩
I was the same way. I used to get terrible acne all over my cheeks. Red and painful pimples. Found out I had a dairy allergy. So I completely cut out dairy and barely have any issues anymore besides the random pimple on my chin during certain times
If someone has acne this severe it's likely they already got tested or cut out foods on their own.
@@johanna2690 you' d be surprised at how many people would have to suffer before food intolerance is raised as a potential problem and we usually think of skin rash and hives, before acne, as a sign of food allergy.
Inspite of all the information out there, people are not always medically savvy and conditions do not present in a straight forward way.
For example, a case of tonsillitis, could show up as a stiff arm or leg joint, leading to a diagnosis of arthritis, when really, infection from the tonsillitis has settled in ONE joint.
