Probably because the advertising was spot on, it caught a lot of people’s attention and probably got us into some of Gltich’s previous works to see what these guys and gals are capable of (Me personally I fell in love with Murder Drones) and since those projects were amazing, it sparked an audience who’s incredibly excited for this show. I guess that’s also what a good team of animators, voice actors, and writing gets you
I like how Caine fundamentally doesn't understand why everyone wants to leave, and tries to make the "exit" part of the map.
Or more accurately that Caine cannot comprehend the concept of an outside world or conceptualize it, so all he can do is recreate it based off what the others tell him. He has some loose understanding that there is an "outside world" where humans come from, but he doesn't really understand where it is in relation to him, or how they get in to his world. He's an AI and to him, the Circus IS his universe.

Yeah, Caine is literally part of the Digital Circus. He has no idea how to leave because Caine himself is not supposed to leave. He can't help them escape.

I think he’s stayed sane because of the character shown at 9:46. A queen character that got abstracted (I believe). Something tells me he’s trying to live for them and he clings to that
Well we don’t know if he’s the first, we only know that he’s probably been there the longest out of all the humans in the current cast. But considering there was a queener? Charecter, who looked just like kinger, they might have joined at the same time, which could have been a while ago.
You can also tell there were a lot of former characters by all the rooms
Since the show is set in a digital world, the team can realistically just leave random errors in the animation and nobody would care.
Legit saw an error with Caine’s glove when he’s talking about the memory loss, and I’m thinking, “ehh that’s just Caine being his unstable psychotic self”

Reminder that Caine isn't evil. He's an ai who lives in the virtual world. He literally can't comprehend why people would want to leave or how. He wants to help them, which was stated by the creator. However, his reality is the virtual world, so he can't help them. He's not evil either. He genuinely wants to support the other people, but his roundabout way of doing things unintentionally creates obstacles for the cast.
I’d say he’s an example of “You may be a bad guy, but you are not a bad guy” (I don’t remember the actual quote and it’s probably not accurate anyway lol)

Yknow, i just had a thought. Im amazed that nobody had a lasting reaction to Kaufmo abstracting. Pretty much everyone brushed it off more than anything, with Caine even making a joke about his abstracting.
There doesn’t seem to be a way of “dying” in the digital circus, but abstracting is the closest thing to it; completely losing your mind, your body becoming something atrocious and violent, with no remnant of what used to be “you”.
With Kaufmo, that was straight up just a dude _dying,_ someone they might’ve known for a long time, and they brush it off like it’s nothing. Hell, I’m surprised Pomni didn’t even say anything (though they did look disgusted after Caine’s joking demeanor about it.)
He’s not dead, he’s just horribly morphed and it’s also not the first time, since there’s other doors crossed out.
Also they are all pretty dissociated because focusing on the world means confronting the fact they are trapped in a glorified kids show.

Judging by all the crossed out faces on doors we see, it looks like this happens pretty often. One of them was even a Queen piece... they must've either abstracted or something else happened that we don't know about yet.
Its likely happened before as there were others in the cellar and lots of crossed out doors
Y’know it’s interesting how unmalicious caine seemingly is. Although he’s clearly crazy, and rather dismissive of his “characters”, he shows genuine care about them, why try to “stimulate” their brains? Why give them their own rooms? And why would he go through the trouble of creating a exit, if you were trying keep them there for a reason, or drive them crazy? Or even when he deals with obscured characters, he sends them to a “vault” instead of deleting, destroying, banishing, it’s like he is trying to find a way to fix them but he can’t because “he can’t control minds”. So it’ll be really interesting to see how this wacko of a ring leader turns out, malicious puppeteer, or crazy care taker?
The door we see Pomni enter is different coloured than the one she saw outside. I think its likely that this red door was created specifically to throw off everyone to the idea of there being a real exit. His explanation felt suspect at best. at the bare minimum he wasn't being truthful about the purpose of the exit
@@Bakron97could also be he tried to make an exit himself, but couldn't, so he tried to make an area similar to the outside, but has few references, so also failed in that as well. He truly does seem to want to help, but cannot.
If it's true that he's confirmed to be an AI, as I thought after watching the Episode, he's likely made to help humans within the extent of his powers, but there seems to be a software or maybe even hardware malfunction. I think he did make an Exit, because that's what they had asked for, but he can't make an "Exit" out of the game/program.
The basement seems more like a quarantine of sorts, since we saw that the Abstracted can "infect" the others to some degree and it's likely that him not Deleting them, may be less of a "don't want to" and more "I can't do that".
His explination of the unfinished exit felt very fake, with his slower than normal talking, and looking around. Quite...

Felt that. I LOVE this but it's annoying seeing so many videos that are clearly only trying to cash-in on the series' popularity. But honestly it's pretty easy to ignore, I really only watch the official Glitch releases, it's the best way to support them anyways.

It isn't brainrot. The show has lore, a story, good characters, ect. It's what the fans or people who want views create.
An idea for future episodes is that whenever a character walks into a different room for a split second you can see the other characters in that room tposing as a reference to old games when you load a new area and the models are tposing
I absolutely love the orchestrated version of the Digital Circus theme at the end and how it manages to take the light hearted theme of the show and give it ominous implications that something is definitely not right.

I love how Glitch used the Cartoon-ey animation style to the fullest, like Jax's face, the entire thing Caine has going on, and Pomni's eyes sometimes being scribbles. It really helps the contrast with Kaufmo when he abstracts.

It's really interesting to see the characters express themselves as if they are NPCs interacting with each other in Animal Crossing or something, or an in game cutscene from a 90s 3D game. The designs are also so solid, each of these characters could be a mascot for a classic PC or PS1 game.

I love Pomni's smile at the end so much. The most forced of forced smiles. Finally getting to acceptance that there is no escape, no convenient exit door that leads to freedom and if you obsess over finding your escape you could end up like Kaufmo. I know it's already settled with the inspiration of "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream", but you know what? This whole pilot is REALLY bringing me great vibes of Courage the Cowardly Dog. It may never happen, but I would love if Glitch is going with that style too: Scary and funny things happen most of the time, but it also has it's rare moments or beautiful gems that you didn't expect from a horror comedy show.

@@Shane-impact A.I. traps multiple people for their enjoyment, messing with their appearances. You even got characters being a-holes for their own enjoyment or just to break up the endless monotony. Then you have some characters trying their best to help the group in spite of their fate. And another character on the brink of insanity. Interesting "giving up" here seems to turn you into some amorphous glitch akin to IHNMAIMS' title reference trapped alive, and aware? in a void (which also seemingly causes constant agony). Whereas in IHNMAIMS they just offed themselves (which isn't really giving up there, since that's as close as they can get to 'escaping'). Im rambling 💀

i really hope the dumb content farms all around youtube exploiting the success of this show eventually fade away, its so undeserved and disgusting. but still, i look forward to where this show goes and the recent teaser tells me that it will be really good. and i hope the content farms dont get to you too hard.. i know you kind of made fun of it in the news update video, but it seems to have kind of negatively affected gooseworx herself. i hope it doesnt get too much out of control, because this show is genuinly great, IMO, and you guys dont deserve to have your hard and honest work exploited like this. 👍
I'd like to point out how personality of a character represents how they try prevent themselves from going mad:
- Zooble tries to not care about anything
- Jax is an a**hole and tries to find fun in anything
- Ragatha tries to stay positive in any situation
- for Kinger it is either too late or he just embraced his insanity
- gangle is depressed which makes her sad instead of crazy (also we don't know if her mask has any impact on her character)
I noticed that in the hallway with the bedrooms one doors has a picture of a chess queen with eyes just like Kinger except there is a big ❌ on the picture which implies that Kinger arrived with someone else and the second person most likely abstracted.

I would say Gangle’s mask changes her character, especially since she seemed so happy in the intro before her comedy mask broke.
I don't think Kinger has gone 'insane' the way the show treats the word in the sense that he's on the verge of abstraction due to problems with the show/being trapped. I think he's more just schitzophrenic/paranoid or has developed some mental instability over time rather than actually losing all grounding like Kaufmo. He still behaves like a normal person there's just a slight disconnect.
Kinger's reference to Gooseworx's habit of putting gameshows in the belly of various monsters was a great callback. The comedic use of rule-of-three, the intriguing mystery surrounding the circus, the edutainment game feel paired with the chaotic experience of an unfinished B-game. This animation is phenomenal.

All the actors here did such an incredible job but I'd like to give my personal kudos to Lizzie Freeman as Pomni. I genuinely don't think I've ever heard a performance that was so simultaneously hilarious, horrifying, and heartcrushingly sad. She really nails the vibe that Pomni is/was a completely random person who's been abducted into a true nightmare scenario, and you really REALLY feel for her and want to see her be okay.
Its been a while since I've heard her voice in an SMG4 product (haven't seen murder drone yet, sorry) and it was nice to see her again after a few issues she had since 2019.
To me the elaborate ominous laugh into a shrilling screech when Pomni sees the computer and headset is just *chef's kiss*

10:57 I just realized this and people have most definitely commented on this, but jax having keys to everyone's room and saying "you've all been fine" is just implying (in my opinion) that he's been checking on everyone to make sure they are okay. Since there have obviously been those who lost it, so it's honestly sweet that since he has keys he checks on everyone. While still pranking them as well, he does care and worry for them.
(Someone pointed out in the comments) It also means that he is most likely looking for a way out as well, since he mentions that he has keys to everything/everywhere it wouldn't be surprising if he's been trying to find an exit, he just hasn't mentioned such since the others would assume he's starting to loose it
I think jax is the best character in glitch history in terms of sarcasm and humor.
Yep! Even though it may not seem like it, Jax truly does care for the other circus members. He's just hiding it because that's his coping mechanism. That, along with the fact that he shoved Gangle and Kinger into the Gloink hole to protect them from Kaufmo when he could have just gone in there by himself shows a lot! He'll probably have the most character development by the end of the series!

I feel like the cast of “characters” are all pretty accurate to their situation.
I feel like each one has a different way of coping with the endless digital place they’re trapped in.
Kaufmo, by literally going insane
Jax, coping with comedy, sarcasm, etc.
Pomni, literal denial
Ragatha, by helping others instead of worrying about it.
Kinger, being.. him
Gangle, by just actually being mega depressed about it.
And Zooble, by straight up not caring
I wonder what we’ll see in the future of this series, it’s really well written I think, also very very funny when it tries to be, and serious when it needs to be.
Kinger is uh... I think 9:06 sums him up.
I think jangles is more of it putting on a “mask” to be happy
And Caine by trying to put order into the world and distract himself and others

It feels like when i watched Hazbin Hotel the first time. Absolutely amazing show but i wonder how marketable it is. But it reminds me of the early days of Pixar when they first started doing 3D animation and it has a very cold vibe to it which is very fitting and probably intentional considering the plot and everything. 15/10. Will watch again.

Honestly this is interesting. There’s always shows where people get sent to another world. But u never see em mentality handle it this poorly. Gives a sense of eerie realism to it
Well to be honest Pomni was probably a nervous wreck in her previous life, as it appears not ALL the characters are handling it poorly. I mean we can assume kinger has probably been there for at or over a decade and he's FINE.
Don't think kinger is entirely fine? Like hes got a few screw loose. Every now and again he just... forgets he's in a conversation and freaks out when he remembers other people (gangle) exist. We'll have to wait and see

I love how Kane isn't your usual "British and wants to make a deal for your soul" type of character. It's a nice fresh take.
It really does feel like he runs the show, not as the person in control of the circus but instead a charismatic leader who genuinely cares about his underlings safety and mental well being doing the best with what he has got

@@philipryan1829 when characters in most media fit Caines archetype they usually are outright evil or underlying sinister. They flipped the script and shown him as jovial and kind even if it’s in a weird way.

It isn't much, and I don't have much, but I purchased a Pomni plush just to try and help fund for that full season. This is a wonderful project, an amazing step in 3D animation. Caine is literally a 3d modeling and design marvel that 100% needs to be studied by future generations of 3D artists.
You've successfully figured out how to use both his mouth for talking and for showing facial expression at the same time, without compromising the audio dubbing. It still thoroughly feels like he's talking, while the mouth can not only be raised or lowered to show expression, but also using the eyes with cartoonish gestures and movements to show expression without an eye socket just shows an expertise at design and direction. Extremely well done.

These types of small indie shows are what really hit hard. The Frederator was also a really good company that sadly just isn't relevant anymore so I'm glad Glitch is here to continue the small indie show legacy. Awesome work!

My best friend shared this show with me yesterday, and it's right up my alley. A strong goofy yet existential comedy streak smashed into a smorgasborg of surreal visuals. This show is dreamlike and liminal. I love the cosmic circus feeling. Definitely can't wait to see more of it.

REWATCHING THIS BEFORE EP 2 RELEASESSSSS
Everyone's voice acting is absolutely superb! Love how each of the character's have their own little visual tics, such as Caine's eyes retreating into his jaw when he's obviously caught in a lie.
Wow...the delicious blend of vivid visual color with splashes of blink-and-miss-it horror come together so well. Bravo!!!
To add onto the voices, the fact they have audiotracks in like 10 languagesss!!
I don't know, the main characters voice acting feels a bit iffy at times, but everyone else’s is good

As someone who has recently gotten into 3D animation for school, it's honestly just pure fun seeing some of the parts where the models were either played around with for some borderline goofy animations or straight up partially broken/stretched out for the sake of the story.....
....mainly because those things are all VERY fun to to after you've spent god knows how long preparing a model to me animated

Been a fan before even came out! I saw a video saying meet the gang and I was like oh this cool, I’ll watch this on release. Idk if you deleted the video but I can’t find it on your channel page but I was a fan of
i kinda adore Caine, he seems to actually care enough, sure he has no clue what they’re feeling because he’s actually a part of the game unlike the other characters but he still really wants them to feel safe and ok. when he’s talking at 5:35 (roughly) he seems actually kinda upset that he can’t help them with their own minds, he might actually like control but he also cares. his personality is also great, he’s such a bubbly little guy.
Something just occurred to me, why does he call the Gloinks “humanoid hashbrowns?” These are the least humanoid critters in this cartoon, no heads, arms or legs, just a simple shape with eyes. Why does Caine think they’re humanoid? What does he think a human is? Considering no one arrives looking anything like a human, I’m not sure he has a reliable frame of reference for humanity.
Yeah he doesn't seem to purposely torture them. He made the exit because they wanted it so much, but he has no clue what's the real world.
A lot of people think Caine is like the master mind, but what if he's just an advanced AI with a poor understanding of reality?

I love the little moment at 17:37. The sound design is stunning, and portrays her slow realization that this circus, this “dream”, is actually real. Plus, it’s one of my favorite images of Pomni so far.

I haven't felt so bad for a horror protagonist in a very long time. A truly believeable character to root for. Hopefully if this continues, Pomni can at least find happiness.

Interestingly enough her name seems to be Russian for "remember", though that begs the question as to if it's just a subtle bit of irony or foreshadowing her being the only one capable of remembering the outside world.

Alex Rochon is by far the perfect fit for Caine in this show. His acting and his voice are phenomenal. Very explosive personality to an already explosive character. Much love to the whole team for this amazing show ❤❤❤❤

At 9:45 you can see a queen version of Kinger on the door, but she's been crossed out. Maybe Kinger was originally brought there with his wife and losing her is what made him go crazy? Just a thought.
Also, I love this whole thing already. The fact they were able to make a 3D show feel so animated is incredibly impressive. 10/10!

Probably his wife reached her breaking point and turned into an abstracted and caine sent her to the cellar
Kinger's wife or queenger's door icon turned into a manniquin roughly 3 minutes after the og shot. I'm guessing that her door was right next to kinger's and changed because of the presence of a abstracted being. Maybe Kinger went a little insane lost a bit of his memory when his wife abstracted and made a fake reality for himself to cope with the loss of his wife. A better idea is that he didn't forget about his wife but tries to forget and is still insane because of it.
