Story:
Drama Serial Maat is based on a novel by Umer Ahmed. Story showed sibling rivalry. Saman (Saba Qamar) and Aiman (Amina Shaikh). Saman is greedy and outspoken girl who wants to marry someone rich someday. Aiman, is a simple girl who would marry wherever her parents say. Saman rejects a proposal of her cousin who is in love with her because he is poor so his mother asks for Aiman’s proposal which was his mother’s first choice. The story starts taking an interesting twist as Saman’s brother in law (the cousin who proposed to her) gets rich.

The ending was really good , saman and faisal deserved each other. But they dont have anyone else with them. Best part is their son hates them and will never meet them. Aiman is happy with his son, daughter in law and grand child.
Aiman is a looser. Kids don't stay away from their parents for long. Saman enjoyed all her youth without any responsibilities and headaches and got a successful grown kid and ex-lover in her old age.
It's good to see actresses like Amina Sheikh who plays Aiman in the drama, we need to have representation of actresses who aren't just fair skinned all the time.

Buhat zada ghatiya harkat ki hai is faisal ne apne bete ko saman k baray me batakar. Bachpan me wo usay rota hua chorgayi thi, koi parwah nai thi usko. Aur sari qurbani aiman ne di thi usko paalne ki. Apni aulad tak nai hui uski. Aur end me ye reward deraha hai faisal usko. I think such men really deserve wife like saman. Jo is tarah tortire krti hain husbands ko. Isi me ye khush rehte hain, faisal has no seld respect at all.
It is easier to play an erratic role where u can show shades of human behaviour but when u have very less to work with like aiman's character...calm n still portray it with honesty..its hard.....amina kudos

I’m 78 years old from pre partition India. Have lived in Karachi for years and have seen enough of Pakistan and it’s dramas. It’s all about middle class of changing Pakistan. I loved the plot. But Aimen , oof woh kis duniya ki hai. I understand people could be heartless, selfish and insensitive like the character of Saman and Faisal who accepts Saman after all that she did to him …was it because he couldn’t take the defiance and the challenge from the woman he loved. In the end, if Aimen would have gone mad or killed herself or Faisal, it would have been a more realistic ending. The title song is beautiful and haunting.
