Obese Monkey Called ‘Godzilla’ Eats All Day

- An obese monkey found gorging on junk food fed to it by market visitors has been rescued and sent to fat camp.
The three-year-old macaque named Godzilla ballooned to 20kg - more than double the normal weight for monkeys - after being tied to a stall and given treats in Bangkok, Thailand.
Video emerged this week of the podgy primate sparking fears for its health due to its resemblance to the late 'Uncle Fatty' who died in 2019 after being 'killed with kindness' by being fed by humans.
Wildlife officials visited the market in the Min Buri district of the Thai capital on March 25 afternoon and Godzilla was carried away in a cage.
Staff will now send Godzilla to the equivalent of a 'fat camp', where he will be put on a strict diet, made to exercise and toughened up ready for a return to the wild.

Someone probably bashed this monkey's mom with a shovel or poisoned her, then took the baby. Oh last I checked, unless this is some super smart monkey, they can't cook, much less feed themselves in a human home. So that being said, do you still think this monkey did this to its self?
Oh yeah, wild monkeys, they exercise on a daily basis looking for food and socializing. This one doesn't do any of those.

The family didn’t abuse him he got cleaned everyday , air conditioner. The family even let the people take him to the wild life center(that’s what I found when I did my research)

Now this monkey became famous, wildlife authorities came take it away from his family. Not because it was abused or mistreated or overweight, but because it against the law to make this wildlife a pet. However, this is still heart breaking. In the other news you will see the shop owner and his son crying. Since they are growing together and worried that it wouldn't know how to survive in the forest and lonely since it always around people. It might be true that monkey should not be the pet. But I think it partially fault from wildlife authorities when the owner first called them when he discovered this baby monkey, but nobody came to his house and just ignore it.

Then this family should of called again! I found an abandoned Mallard Duck once and it was illegal for me to have it! I didnt know at time and I raised it almost to adulthood! Once I found out it was against the law I handed him rt over! And I NEVER OVER FED OR MISTREATED MY DUCK! All these people need to have their monkeys taken away and TOUGHER LAWS NEED TO BE ENACTED cause they are not tough enough! These poor monkeys suffer and Cambodia has an OBLIGATION! A HARSH FELONY and alot of time in jail if you keep one
@@jeancoudriet9776 you are nut, these animals are pests and the only reason they are not allowed as pets is wild ones can be diesesed. The captive bred ones are openly sold many places, I import many into the US for my breeding colony from Cambodia and Indonesia. If you have a wild caught one as a pet 99% of the time they just kill which is why they were crying.

This monkey was raised so well that it was fat. So the staff asked to take it back to take care of the weight loss for the health of this monkey.

This is sad . Wildlife official take away Godzilla from family just it because the monkey became famous from the new. Wildlife official said against the law to keep the monkey.the owner take care the monkey like a baby .the money have own bedroom with air condition ,blanket ,toys , and take a bath every day or two but life it chang now the monkey stay in small and unclean cage .

Now the owner of the monkey who raised the monkey and the monkey himself is grieved because they had to be separated.
