Well in Dawn you start rooting for the humans again seeing as how most of them are genuinely trying to make peace with the apes. Also, in most of the original movies you cheer for humans too

To be fair aside from Koba the apes aren't really bad guys. It wasn't their fault that the virus that made them intelligent was lethal to humans. And all they wanted was to be free and live their own life away from humans. Only Koba wanted war.
5:38 Caesar's face always cracks me up here. Like he's woken up from his berserker rage and immediately makes a face that says "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE?"
Seeing the Gorillas tip the bus for cover no hesitation and push it forward gave me goosebumps pretty sure that's when everyone started routing for the Apes.

I’ve been thinking the same thing after rewatching Godzilla x Kong and this amazing underrated trilogy
The Reboot is By Far my FAVORITE Movie franchise! Its alot to choose from but Planet of the apes Story is SO Damn good 🦍🦧

That Mary moment was it for me, even as a kid(idk why this was and still is my favorite movie, even as a kid) . Dude you crashed in a airplane, in a deserted island for years, and then still worry about your friend. DUDE! The empathy this film inspires is the reason why I love it so much.

1:16 I think another reason why this scene is so badass is due to that fact that apes are so similar to humans. The biggest thing that separates us from them is speech so seeing an ape shout “NO!” kinda breaks the barrier of us from them so it’s super shocking and surreal.
