- The long-tailed macaque, who weighed twice the average for his species, was rescued in 2017 from a water market near Bangkok where tourists had been feeding him, but is now feared dead. Animal workers had put him on a strict diet in an attempt to reduce his 33lb weight, but were largely unsuccessful because he simply began stealing food from other monkeys. He went missing in February, and despite no body being found experts say it is likely the 20-year-old primate has died.

I am starting a fund to send a veterinary team over there. They will capture and hold. After a medical evaluation it will be put on an appropriate (for its species and size) diet. A rigorous exercise program and psychiatric rehabilitation will be part of the treatment. Nothing is too much to save this precious monkey.
@sandralevin2489 I'd say save your money! It's a waste! Help someone who has a quality future and potential to contribute back something at least. Besides he must have a death wish and maybe too far gone to help the way he eats what he eats!
