    I feel like you need to include the (very important) step of fitting the filter gasket, your video almost flooded our living room!

    What glorious timing!
    That cabinetry happens to match the tile in our brand new home. My wife is going to love it! I also see that it will come in two sizes (44 gal and 66 gal) which leads me to some follow-up questions if I may.
    1. Are there any plans for additional tank sizes in the near future?
    2. Heaters are not necessary in my climate zone. Is this something that can be omitted without negatively affecting the integrity of the system? Or is it an integral component in the overall design of this aquarium?
    Nonetheless, I must say - _Good job Fluval!_
    Stay classy my friends.

      Tanks do not require a heater. Tropical fish do & this is integral. The stress from not having thw stable & correct temps leads to immune system failing and a slow death

    • @fluval
      @fluval  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Bert, we're thrilled to hear you're interested in the tank!
      1. A larger version of the tank is currently in development, but we unfortunately have no information regarding availability at this time.
      2. The heater can easily be omitted from the tank without affecting the system's integrity in any way!
      We hope that helps! Always great to hear from you 😄

    4:25 you skipped a step. The manual recommends sealing the top of the cabinet beneath the tank with silicone. You mention it's extremely important, very strange why you didn't show/do this..

    Is it possible to add a second external filter to this tank without having to cut or remove the sliding cover?. A fluval 307 wouldnt be enough on its own and it dosent look as though there is any room for external pipework in the corners of the other than for some cables.

    • @fluval
      @fluval  Před 2 lety

      Hi there! If you'd like to add a second external filter, you'll have to move the sliding cover aside to make room for the hoses.

    Could you attach an fx4 filter to this? Are the hoses the same diameter and would it fit in the cabinet?

    • @fluval
      @fluval  Před rokem

      Yes you can! The FX4 is the best option. To connect an FX series canister filter to the through tank connectors, you will need to purchase a length of 1" / 25 mm tubing, as the supplied FX hosing only has one fixed rubber adaptor when cut to the correct length. These lengths of tubing will then need to be jubilee clipped onto the AquaStop valves of the filter. Cut off the first step (3/4” section) of the hose tail of the through tank connectors in order to prevent flow restriction and back pressure of the filter. Then, jubilee clip the 1" / 25 mm tubing to the second step of the through tank connectors. Make sure that the tubing is kink free so as not to reduce the flow of water and cause back pressure.

    Hi I’ve just purchased this set up and I am wondering if I need to put a fish tank mat down in between the cabinet and the base of the glass tank?? Thanks

    • @fluval
      @fluval  Před 2 lety

      Great question! There's no need for a mat, the tank is designed to sit directly on the cabinet. 👍

    I have one big issue with this Shaker , why Fluval didin't design the wooden top suround to be lifted off for maintenance as all the tubes and wires have to go over the suround preventing you from lifting it off, that's my only problem otherwise it's a fantastic stand and tank.

    Just to have an extra layer of water protection. I'd first coat every surface of wood with a wood deck water proofing product and dab a layer of water proof gel on top of the screw heads.

    I'm a little worried. How is that cabinet capable of holding that 564+ pounds. It may be made of oak, but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of material there.

    And what kind of wood is the stand? Because that looks like 1/2 maybe 5/8 pressboard. The water alone weighs 500 lb, figure another 325 lbs minimum for the rest of the decorations. If the stand gets wet it will turn to mush. That's a lot of money to pay for something that could come crashing down because it got wet.

    • @fluval
      @fluval  Před 2 lety

      The cabinet is made in Scotland using high quality European laminates! The stand won't collapse if some water is spilled.
