what is the mushroom looking one called

Been using ac filters for 20 years and this looks like next to no improvements over the previous design. Actually dont like some of the changes, the curved top, the curved intake, the new basket looks like it might cause flow issue inside the box? Whats with the big flaps? The leveling thing look odd, at one point in the video i can see the filter is very unlevel. The biggest complaint about these filters has always been the external motor and possible failure to prime. You left it the same? Strange.

The collection of debris from tubes with the use of a net is normal o both types, though.

Fluval knocks it out of the park with their canister filters.. but having the impeller still outside the tank with the HoB is a massive missed opportunity. Hard pass for me still.

Does anyone actually use carbon full time? Should of made it without the carbon and included more bio media. Now I have to buy extra to fill the area the carbon would go. It would make more sense to not include it in the first place since its not needed but still carry it as an add-on. No?

A nice reboot and redesign. Always enjoyed the Aquaclear HOBs and my normal go recommendation for most tanks. I know its a hot take right now, but im glad you stuck with the external motor, not a huge fan of the internal design

But why are we putting media front to back when the water flows bottom to top? Why is the pump still outside the tank? And now the media basket is restricted and sectioned off

So you still have to fill it back up with water when the power goes out? (Not self prime) Shame, I thought they would have fixed that😢

A few good improvements. I do like Fluval products but I haven't tried an AquaClear filter in years.

I haven't had a great experience with this product, so thought I'd check out the reviews and from what I have seen I seem to be one of the few people who isn't getting on with this product. I had a cheap no name brand in tank UV filter that worked brilliantly and I had no alge issues and super bright water while running it. I got the Fluval UVC inline filter as I wanted to minimise how much stuff I have in the tank so it didnt look so cluttered. I took out the cheap UV filter and added the UVC, within a couple of weeks of using the UVC my aquarium is coated in algae. I have checked the install instructional video and I have my UVC installed correctly, the UV light is on as I can see it through the clear end of the filter as per the instructions. I haven't made any other changes to my process other than removing the in tank UV filter and adding the inline UVC. Not sure what to do about this but it doesnt seem to be working as it should. Fluval any suggestions on what I can try to solve the problem? Thanks,

New to canister filters here. My intake tubing has a pinch point, causing restricted flow. I assume this could be corrected by shortening and tightening up the intake line, would this be a correct assumption?

Well done, I've been following this guild, waiting to get my hands on one to confirm how good they are. But overall it looks like quite a few improvements.

I like the flat top on my current Aqua Clears to put an air pump on. This looks curved and not sure if my pumps will sit properly.

There's a lesson here....never mess with perfection. The first series was so good it needed nothing, literally nothing, for so many years it's not funny. This isn't totally different, but it's also a total waste of money. Leave well enough alone folks!

I like this. A youtube video man who says basics. Its very much what variety of 1 fish can just about survive in. For a few months. As long as you feed him or her. Goldfish. No way. They grow very quickly very large. Airstone using a bubbler too. And a filtration unit. A water heater is needed. Then feed the fish very little and often. Very littleand often. Turn the overhead light off at night. ❤❤❤
