- The all new Aston Martin DBS first drive is here! The 5.2L V12 is now pumped up to 715bhp and 664lb ft torque, based on the Aston Martin DB11 but 72kg lighter with a carbon fibre prop shaft and new mechanical limited slip diff - here is the first drive in the new Aston Martin DBS!

Absolutely fantastic review. I do have to say that I would go for the DBS over the 812 Superfast any day . It is drop dead gorgeous.
Yes the gearbox isn’t like the 812 but that is not what this car is about. It’s the perfect match for power and comfort. I can imagine the 812 is very unforgiving if you are not careful. Especially with all that power. I mean. Come on. Most of the car reviewers like Clarkson and Harris said the Ferrari has too much power.
I think the DBS sits right in the sweet spot between the 812 Superfast and the continental GT. it’s not on the knife edge in responsiveness like the 812 but it is also not as stately as the Continental. Well done Aston for hitting the sweet spot. I will have mine in Matt Grey with yellow accents and dark genres wheels.

When you do a review for Aston like this are you given a budget by them for the making of the video , this ones so well shot it’s at tv car show standards , I take it you have a number of people helping shooting these videos .
We see the great edited and finished version but just how long dose it take to shoot the video .
As always great work simply the best you tuber out there at the minute .

This infuriates me as well. In this kind of cars, those rear seats are utterly unusable. They should fit there some custom made luggage , which you can strap in that space.
Often wondered why they don’t make 2+2s as 3 seaters with a transverse rear seat, bit weird as a concept but could work

Fantastic review, absolutely beautiful car, I, like you though am bewildered as to why they wouldn’t pop in a double clutch box, I have one in my daily driver and I couldn’t deal with waiting what feels like an age for it to change gear
Beautiful car and immense in gear acceleration would do it for me. The sound is pretty good. Shame about the gearbox but I would forgive it that due to the torque. Thanks for an excellent driver focussed review. You're up there sir....😀

I really love your car reviews on this channel. You use your own words, but it has some of Clarkson's dna in it that I liked so much in the early days of Topgear.
The new DBS is a lovely GT car but as you say it will never compete with the 812 superfast in terms of performance and gearshifting. But the in- and exterior are beautifull!

This is truely a beautiful looking car. The double clutch issue might not bother me so much. However, I am a little surprised that the interior isn't more different than the DB11.
Best review of this Aston so far, because, amongst many other things, there's plenty of opportunity to hear the music it makes! Now, boring (?) question - crossing continents have often do you have to stop to refuel?

Great review. I am considering replacing my DB9 with a DBS or a Continental. The 9 has lots of road noise which is wearing on cross
-continental drives. I think the new Bentley is a better Grand Tourer than the DB9 - any thoughts about the DBS for this in your next review.
Game changer for AM in the world of competitors breaking the 3 second 0-60 barrier, however I wish they’d made the front lights look nicer. The rest of the at is absolutely stunning tho!
Which previous DBS are you referring to. The Touring model, William Towns version or the Gaydon V12
