  • In this video I take a quick look at the Rokinon (Samyang) 12mm F2.0 AF for Sony APSC E Mount. This is an upgrade to the very popular manual focus 12mm lens from Rokinon. If you're looking for an affordable ultra wide angle lens for Sony E Mount, this is the lens for you.

Thank you for the video ! At 4:27 you answer exacly the question I was asking for
I hesitated between this lens and leica 15 mm F1.7 for filming myself for youtube video and now you talking about sigma 16mm F1.4 which is still a wide angle, cheaper than the leica and brighter !

Great video I have been looking at the rokinon 12mm F2 as combination for general use as well as for astrophotography and the only thing holding me back was the previous ones I saw were not AF. My question is the ease of shooting (or not) in manual focus mode for astrophotography

Use the focus magnifier on your camera to focus on a bright star and focus on it until it's a pinpoint. Then set your iso & shutter speed, I use around a 10 second shutter speed and I also set a 5 second timer so that I don't shake the camera when pressing the shutter button.

seems like the AF Autofocus is not really that reliable based on the camera model. and ..the samyang 12mm AF must pair with more latest model like A6100/ 6400 or ZVE10...etc / but i have seem some USING ZVE10 withi this len ,also having the same issue of breathing focus..đŸ±
