I staple the receipts to my instruction manuals and the extended warranty papers also before I file them.
I do the same thing!😀

Great idea I'll start doing that I've got mine in a coupon binder for each month then shred them afterwards
Be sure & make a copy of the receipt before filing it away. Those receipts fade over time.
I have all my bills direct debit now and here in England they have encouraged people to help reduce paper clutter and just do bills by email. So this I find easier. However, I am a terrible paper Clutterbug, so ordered two of your office in a bag red for me and purple for my daughter, as she loves purple. This makes it easier, as I have an appointment next week that involves going through a lot of paperwork, so I have it all in my office in a bag. This gives peace of mind and I know instantly where things are and it is easier to transport from A to B.

Thx to you and your love of us, my hot spots have diminished quite a bit. Used to have them everywhere, now only on the table. I feel so empowered and still working on baby steps. From Ohio. I seem to work best on 15min timer during videos. Lol
Marla, I have been struggling to get my house, my body, and my finances in shape for YEARS with little success... But with all your help, I am feeling and doing sooo much better at ALL those things... You have given us the tools, the guidance, and the love we need to accomplish amazing things !! My house is cleaner, my clothes are looser, and I am so much happier :)
So I just want you to know, that when one of us says something like "the system just isn't working for me" or " I've been working at this for years and I still can't do it, or get it, or whatever... That it is not you or your plan....
It is us... Some of us like myself...
First have to believe that we can..
Then just start doing what we can...
As well as we can.. Everyday that we can.. And know that what we did was good enough.. :)

THANK you Marla. I have just sorted my paper clutter after watching your video. This last month I slipped back with paper and diary control journal. My husband was 6 weeks in hospital with discitis an infection got lodged in his spine .He's haemeplegic from a stroke 4 years agobut my routines kept me sane. I had a plan . Ok I missed some days and it's been hectic since he came home managing carers 4 times a day. But count your blessings. THANK you Lord my God he's home.Thank you for the reminder. Found a bill that I need to pay. No clutter on my fridge but will shine it up when I get back from paying this bill. Lots of love from Margaret in Wales

Up until I started this plan (I'm day 12), it was awful bad. Now I've got it only where it needs to be (for the most part). Love you FLYLADY
My mailbox is on the road. I go from the mailbox to the garbage can and I toss all the junk mail, inserts, extra inside envelopes. Yes I open all my mail at the garbage can. If its something I dont want to put in the garbage for security reasons...I then take it to the kitchen sink, soak it down with water until I can ball it up so it can't be unfolded and then I toss it.
I live in a cottage that is (get this!!) 450 sq. feet...two VERY small bedrooms, a bathroom the size of a postage stamp, a kitchen that's approximately 12 ft. x 12 ft., and a living room that's about 12 ft. by 15 ft. My kitchen counter tops are BARELY large enough for (on the left side) a dish drainer, and on the right side, barely enough for a small shelf with two racks (about 14 or 15 inches wide) and a coffee pot. So, i have no ROOM to make any paper clutter in there, lol!
HOWEVER...my living room and my bedroom get ALL the paper clutter. Mail i haven't sorted through yet, my younger son's belongings (he is temporarily staying with me--i would let him use the extra bedroom but i don't want to give him ANY incentive to STAY with me! He's 38...shouldn't be living with Mom, ANYWAY! Lol. (I laugh but i'm NOT joking.)
I got rid of all the old magazines and i just looked around on all the flat surfaces (besides the floor) and i can't blame my son for ANY of it...doggone it, LOL! It's mostly mail, whether current or old...and most of it is on top of my dog's crate, although i have some on an end table that's being used as a coffee table (not enough space for a real coffee table!), and a very small end table on the other side of the sofa. I'm watching this and NOT allowing myself to go to any other task until the video is actually over. (I have a tendency to flit from one thing to another, which ALSO isn't helping this cause.)

Something i struggle with is "printables" I didn't hear this mentioned. Can you please offer some suggestions on how to store those, and working through them.
some examples of what i'm talking about would be work books to go with e-courses, and printable pages, and lists, and various things like that.
I did have 4 medicare books one was from 2018 it went to shredding asap
My house is small and clean but the paper trail is a bit large, it's not bills but payments I have made , I feel I need to keep them for a few years.
unless you are planning on selling your house and need to show you make payments on time. you only need to keep 6 months. and if it is part of your taxes then keep them for 7 yrs.

When I do my weekly home blessing instead of just decluttering magazines I spend 10 minutes on paper clutter, wherever it is.

I shred paper and cardboard and compost the shreds. Good as mulch too, its carbon.
How would you get out of an area when you cannot drive a vehicle? I have medical problems that prohibit me from driving and have no idea who to call for evacuation help if needed.

go to optoutprescreen, to stop unwanted credit card offers & Stop Junk Mail - Eco-Cycle, for regular mail. it works!
Birth certificates.
If you don't have a shedder cut out the part that has your name, account number, address ect. and throw away the rest. keep only the part with your name and put it in a jar with water. After a while just fish it out squeese it into a ball and discard.
