      @braydonscully4646 Před 5 lety +1

      Missed that, but even with a manual conversion, I would still go OE alcantara for the wheel! If the theme is super car, you want a cohesive look, not parts bin amalgamation. The Recaro seats work as BMW used similar in the CSL. They should also go carbon fibre roof, if they want to go super car hunting!

  • @ProjectSupercar
    @ProjectSupercar Před 5 lety +6

    I'm enjoying this series so please don't get offended, but regarding the steering wheel I'd refurbish the original. Supercars maybe about performance, but they're also about the prestige and premium package, i.e. Leather, styling, tech, luxury etc. Those wheels you're chosen are too track focused, not really in keeping with pulling up the Hilton for dinner, if you know what I mean. Plus you've lost the on wheel function switches. I think doing an episode on refurbishing the wheel would be interesting (OK, a manual wheel, not this one with the paddles) And at the end of the day, it's still an "M" wheel. ;)

  • @SAVING_ICONIC_MACHINES
    @SAVING_ICONIC_MACHINES Před 5 lety +6

    And get the oem wheel with alcentara or something and keep the pedal shift..it’s good enough for the CSL and it’s a track car so I’m sure it’s going to be just fine for a E46 M3 super car killer

  • @davidg4026
    @davidg4026 Před 5 lety +2

    OEM wheel is my vote!
    No airbag on the street is not a good idea. If it was strictly a track car, I'd go with one of the Momo's.

    nice work so far. but for guys in the industry i'm surprised you put harnesses on a reclining seat regardless of who makes them. the downward force in an impact will snap the seat in half. especially as your shoulder connections look above angle guidelines. (should be verticle line to 45deg downwards. some state 10deg above verticle but on a fixed seat.)

Also, get rid of that head unit and get an Eonon kit, they're made for the E46, look stock and work with the stock steering wheel controls, and plugs directly into the stock harness.

    Get the carbon fiber interior trim set from carbonius. You can probably sell the full cinnamon interior set too if it isn’t too torn up, a lot of people look for those. I personally would just rewrap the OE steering wheel, much cleaner that way, especially with the OE+ look that you guys are going for. You should probably refresh all the liner and other interior and exterior rubber trims since those are probably smelly and sagging given all the time it spent in the swamp.
