Is EMT School WORTH IT?

I remember when I was first starting in EMS, I was unsure if the career was right for me. Inside this video, I breakdown why I believe taking an EMT course is great option for so many different people.
Whether you are set on becoming a firefighter, paramedic or even military like a 68W, EMT is the first step you'll take. Other providers like nursing and PA students will choose to take an EMT class to work on the ambulance while they're in school.
I have other students who join to help family members, or to volunteer in their local community, whether it's a volunteer EMS or volunteer FD. The EMS skills you will learn in an EMT course will help you be the go to person in any situation.
    Be Great,
    Evan, The Paramedic Coach®

I am just about halfway through my EMT program, I did have this thought because it was becoming a lot but I know deep down it's what I want to do. I run fake calls now and honestly feels like it is real and I enjoy it when we do calls. I am enjoying it and your videos get me a step further and helps me understand my lectures more. When I go to class and then watch the video again , something clicks. It all makes sense. Please keep up the videos, it's so helpful. Thank you!

A college education can provide required education for a much broader selection of career goals. It also provides courses beyond just the specific major they pursue. I’m in CT, my EMT course cost $1,000, plus pants, boots, study guides, etc. fees for your exams.
Your boss isn’t hanging over you if you are moving up the ladder of career.
If you’re a salaried position, typically a M-F regular schedule.
EMT volleys in my area get. Stipend of 15/hr, or go perdiem to pick your hours
However it absolutely does not replace a college degree. I have both.
Also, many EMS experience burn out. Pursuing college thru an online program is also an option and FAFSA may cover it- get your Associates in a community college to get the greatest amount of coverage. Consider a major like Biology or Emergency Management and Homeland Security to pair w the EMT or select something completely different to provide an alternative career path.
I’m thrilled I have my EMT. Highly recommend both!

It’s worth it especially if you want to be a firefighter most places prefer emts and if you are a paramedic usually you’re a top pick even if you are not firefighter certified.

I finish Medic school in 2 months. I live in South Fl and most of EMS is fire based. I’m not all that interested in fire. I work at private ambulance company that runs 99% IFTs. What states and cities usually has EMS that is separate from fire and that does 911

Most people can start paramedic school immediately once working as an EMT. That will provide plenty of experience as you progress. I wouldn’t recommend starting medic if you haven’t started working yet.

I passed two of three for police officer and I don’t even know why I failed because I passed with perfect scores I have tattoos and think they did not like that. So I’m going into emt now. I have question for you ! I deal w chronic pain from motorcycle accident 10yesrs ago but I’m still pretty strong and active. You think I can still pursue my dream as emt ? Wish I went into this from the start.
