- Sky News has witnessed migrants leaving the French coast in inflatable boats unchallenged by authorities as they head towards the UK's shores.
Calm seas mean a record number of crossing attempts continue to be made.
The French authorities insist they are taking steps to stop boats crossing the Channel.
Sky's Europe Correspondent Adam Parsons reports.

85% are MEN military age 17-40. U.K. Gives the most social benefits out to migrants. Housing, food, education, medical etc. The Language barrier keeps them from obtaining a job. The acclimation process is 5-7 years in a small number of cases, and most times never at all. Then there's a so called vetting process. Yeah right.
And why don't they mandate them to get the vaccine,that's not right, and on top of that many will have TB,,measles and more. Most will choose not to speak English, there is no way we could go to their country and not speak the language, I'm sure we will be paying for interpreter for them.

I am trying to understand how it is that the migrants come through many safe countries to get here. They say that they have family. In which case it would be reasonable to ask for proof. If papers are intentionally lost by migrants, then it has to be made law that the point of leaving is home and therefore the right of the Brits to return each boat to France. I'm guessing that the law at present is preventing this taking place. To some in the UK, this may be seen simply as cheap labour, so keep them coming. There seems little or no willing or effort, but the money is there all £54 millions which the French receive for doing nothing but encouraging it to happen and are complicit in the suffering of the migrants. If the French are not using the money we give to stop the migrants, then we shoukd supply the migrants with the cash if that is at all possible. That would definitely make the French lift their heads up out of the sand. Let's hope they just don't buy speed boats with the money. 😆😆😆

Last year, a 24-year-old Brit was arrested for organising boats like these. The problem is the traffickers. These are the people that need to be caught. The U.K. should declare a state of national emergency like Poland has? If it becomes clear that paying criminals large sums to bypass immigration rules does not work then this will stop. We should get our fishermen to pick them up in French waters and whilst there do some fishing, they will immediately be escorted back into a French port.
Foreign fishing vessels are subject to authorization by the French authorities to dock, and even if they do so without docking in territorial waters, they would be seized for importing irregular foreigners and prosecuted.
