I did this route straight after i completed the WHW. If you go to the lock keepers office at ever Fort William or Inverness for the cost of £10 (2018 rate it may have gone up?) you get the use of the showers and toilets along the route.

ive completed the westie 11 times now and enjoyed it every time. for me it's about all the people you meet and the connections you keep with those that you meet. 2018 I missed out on everything for the first 7 months as I ruptured my quad tendon in my right leg. im now getting out and about now. My plans this year are The Cateran Trail starting in April The Great Glen way end of May and The Speyside Way and hopefully visit a few of the many distilleries along the way. f I wangle time away I hope to do The Skye Trail but will have to wait and see about that one.
