Just won an auction on Gun Broker for this exact one in 45 Colt... God I can't wait for it to get here... Brand new in box for 999.00 a steal... Hurry up UPS
They are fantastic rifles. I have the 20 in and the 16.5 inch carbine. Both have the side gate. I think I might like them as much as my Marlins. Very accurate with my handloads. Very slick actions and great triggers right out of the box.
I can't wait to test my loads through this rifle compared to factory loads. Hopefully thats today. Thanks for watching. I'll try and make a video and compare fps difference from my colt and this rifle. Should be interesting.
@@badwolf7455 That would be awesome. I did the same thing. I have a smith&wesson 629-7 hunter. They really liked the Hornady 240gr xtp's and 240gr jsp's over 24gr. of H110. The only bad thing about the Henry's is they won't feed longer projetiles.
I have the Big Boy in .44 with brass sides & only tube feed. My shooting buddy has a Marlin and we compared loading using side gate & tube. A lot less effort in tube loading. And, with full wadcutters I can put 11 rounds in the tube.
Looking to get my first gun and this is my absolute dream gun. People have told me to just build an AR but it all just feels so tacky compared to something like this
Congrats man. I too have ordered on of these. I got a call this morning saying it was being shipped, so I should be getting mine in a few days. It's a beauty and the large loop looks great. I'm also going to add one on mine. I currently have a Marlin 1894 Cowboy Limited in .44 Magnum that I bought back in 1997, I think. It has the 24" Octagon barrel with JM stamp, blade front sight with brass bead and the semi buckhorn rear sight. I love this rifle! I've used it for deer hunting and target shooting, it has been a rock solid performer. I originally bought it for Cowboy Action Shooting, along with a Ruger Bisley Vaquero in .44 MAG, and a Liberty II Coach Gun in 12GA (made by KBI). I ended up not getting into the CASS events back then, and have recently been toying with the idea again. So.... I ordered the new Henry Big Boy with side gate in Case Color Hardened Finish (.44 MAG of course) and should be receiving it within a few days. After I put on the big loop, I'll have to do a comparison to see which is the better shooter. I believe the Henry will be a serious match for my trusty Marlin, so with the Case Color Hardening on the new rifle, it will pair perfectly with my Ruger pistol and my Liberty Coach gun. I've also been considering a Skinner Peep sight, but don't know if that would be acceptable in the CASS matches. Anyway thanks for the video I'm even more eager to get mine.
Congrats to you too. I waited over 4 months to get mine, boy was it worth the wait. I'm so glad i went with the CCH version, its just beautiful and the large loop also CCH just matches perfect. The trigger on this rifle is simply amazing to. Really cool note, my rifle/Henry is only the 210th one made. My serial # is zeros followed by 210. I contacted Henry to ask, and it is in fact only the 210th receiver made for model H012GCC. I wonder what yours will be. Thanks for watching

Different strokes for different folks. 😂😂 You’re gonna love shooting yours. Now looking for the big boy steel in 41 Magnum. Very hard to find.

Thank you. I feel lucky, and its #210. I contacted Henry to verify, due to my serial# being #210, and it is in fact only the #210th one (of this new model) made. Pretty cool Thanks for watching
The first writing that appeared after you took the paper off the gun said to check for ammunition first. What you did first was to remove the sock and open the action. You never opened the loading tube. What caliber is the Single Action Army that you put with it? I would have gotten a Ruger Blackhawk in .44 magnum, OR a Henry Big Boy in .45 Long Colt. The whole idea of having a matching revolver is that they should both shoot the same ammo.
Thats why I have the .44 mag in Henry and the colt reproduction in .44 mag. Cocked the lever and there was no ammo, no need to pull the tube to check for ammo.
My beagle would bark at the sight of a gun. Hated them and was scared. I think the breeder did this to her or something happed but was weird as I never fire a single round near her. My lab wags his tail and looks up when he hears fireworks or gunshot. Never trained him to hunt either but he is fearless of everything except for his meal not being on time.
One of my labs she hates bangs from anything, she can't go with when we go shooting. My 2 boys (one that barked) they seem to love it. As soon as ya start shooting they start running out to the targets searching around. End up having to distract them with sticks and such lol. Thanks for watching

Great looking gun there ! Does every Big boy sidegate come with both levers, or did you order the large loop lever as a spare part ? Thanks I do wish they'd offer a Big Boy Side Gate with a brass receiver like the Side Gate 30-30 though, those are just gorgeous
Hi there, no it only came with the regular small loop in black. I ordered the large loop from Henry, for just under $90, it comes color case hardened which matches amazingly. I think the lever for the color case hardened rifles should just come with the color case hardened lever, but they do not. Thanks for watching
It is indeed CCH and boy does it look good, like it was made with the rifle. I dont know why the CCH versions dont just come that way. I really love mine. I recently added lever shims from "Ranger Point Precision" to mine, they really tighten up the lever and makes it feel like I had some work done on it. They are inexpensive like 12 bucks. You get 4 but I only needed 2. Its not that it needed the shims but it really makes it nicer when you pull on it

I’ve been looking at getting a Marlin or a Winchester because of the side-load. I was leaning a little more towards the Marlin because of the side ejection. Henry is a great name and this rifle bumps the other 2 for me. Thanks for the video. One question…. where did you get the case-hardened large loop lever and does the colour match?
Hi there, and Thank you for the kind words, it is my first video. I had to do one because I could never find a video on this very rifle. More light next time lol. I too wanted/had to have one with a side gate. When Henry came out with them I knew that I was getting one. I almost went with the silver...but no gate. I am so happy I decided on the case hardened version, its just amazingly striking and more so in person I think. The other thing I absolutely love, is that evey one is different. Huge plus in my book. The trigger pull os by far the best I ever have felt. I got the large loop from Henry. I'll look and share the link to ya. Yes it is color hardened as well and matches soooooo nice. Idk why they dont just come with color hardened rather then black. If you go on Facebook to the henry family page. I posted a few more photos. It now has a leather loop wrap and a buffalo hide sling. Looks even better. Oh one more cool thing, sense its a new model (real new) mine is serial #210. I contacted Henry to make sure, and in fact it is only the 210th one!
4 of them on gun broker for $1,099, Idk if you can order from U.S or not. Good luck brother, let me know if or when ya find one. Curios how low you serial # will be.
I did order the large loop separate, i ordered it from Henrypride.com (lots of cool stuff there). It's color case hardened as well. I do know you can order a new stock if need be, but I checked with them (Henry) and they do not have the "fancy" stock available for these, I wish they did, because I was going to order one. You can order a new regular stock though. Thanks for watching.
Hint please buy yourself a Champman screwdriver kit. To see you use a normal screwdriver on such a beautiful gun was really painful. you will have them for life and never fuck up a scewhead again. You can thank me later.
I hear ya, and i was nervous. I was actually looking last night at the kit Henry sells on Henrypride.com Thanks for the advice/reminding me, and thanks for watching. Another video of the rifle with a loop wrap and buffalo hide sling and some shooting should be up within a week. Stay tuned
I was just looking at the screwdriver kit you mentioned. There are a few different sets. I read a few reviews and like the second one says the screwdrivers are to fat and dont fit most of that guys rifles. That has been my problem, finding screwdrivers that are not so thick. Are they in fact to thick? I notice these Henry screws have one hell of a small slit. I actually had to dremal that screwdriver in the video to make it thin enough to use on my colt reproduction. I know..I know.
@@badwolf7455 OK the Chapman set I have since 1980 each width comes in 3x thicknesses per width and fits like a finger in an arshole if I am allowed to use that analogy I had a beautiful Weatherby. and I fucked up the screws it was expensive I have had to replace the most used as hardness comes with brittleness Please for the rest of your lie learn to enjoy quality. And me I am just an old dude from Australia.
Hi, its actually more then I thought but not bad at all. Maybe kicks like an AR, you feal it but its not mean. Id say the kick is just right, enough to know it was a .44mag but not so much that a 10 year old kid couldnt shoot.
Ordered it separate from Henrypride.com costs right around $90. Worth it IMO. I really like that it's color case hardened, really matches well and looks like it was made with the rifle. Thanks for watching.
I agree totally! They do not need a sissy pad on them at all. I really really wish it had a cch butt plate, it would look ridiculously badass! I also checked on buying the "fancy stock" (they call it) but was informed that they are unavailable for this rifle. Henry could take some advice from a few of us I think and just kill it on this color case hardened rifle. I think it should come with a cch lever rather then black. The large cch loop really looks proper. Large or small it should match the rifle. Thanks for watching. Badwolf74
I disagree . I have a brass Henry with the brass butt plate and it slides all over my shoulder...I can't get use to it. I also have a .357 Color Case Big Boy with the recoil pad and it stays put on my shoulder, plus the extra inch or so of pull with the recoil pad makes the gun fit me better.
@@badwolf7455 . I thought the large loop looked cool and proper as well...until I actually tried one..it did LOOK cool, and the large loop might be ok if you are wearing gloves , BUT without gloves there was way too much slop for my hand, and made it awkward to work the lever so I switched back to the regular lever. The octogon barrel makes the gun heavy as hell too....IF I could do it over again I'd get the round barrel Big Boy Steel...BUT pester Henry to see if they would Color case my receiver....
JUNK JUNK JUNK. Purchased this rifle for my son. He shot 5 rounds through it and it jambed up so bad we had to box it back up and send it back to Henry Rifles. They sent it back scratched and still not working but saying it was working. ITS JUNK and is now an expensive wall ornament.
I'm shocked that your experience with henrys customer service was less then perfect. I must say that this rifle too had to be sent back. If you watch my video on me comparing fps from my colt with 7 1/2 inch barrel vs this Henry. In that video you see my Henry not chambering/cycling the first round after loading. In addition it was not hitting primers hard enough (7 out of a box of 50 didnt fire, not shown in video) and I noticed after unboxing that there was a gouge in the barrel. Was gonna just live with the imperfection on the barrel until all the other issues showed up. Well I sent it back to Henry and had my rifle back in like 10 days with a brand new barrel and every issue having been addressed and fixed, I must say if it wasn't for Henry's customer service and my experience with them I think I too would be sore to say the least. I honestly recommend you calling them and speaking with a person at Henry. I just can't believe they would leave you hanging like this. They are known to simply replace rifles with new ones. Give it another shot and let me know how it goes. Also may I recommend you goin on the Facebook and joining the page "the Henry family" there you can post about your experience with your Henry rifle for everyone to see. Henry watches it and comments frequently on people's issues. I will also say that Henry really needs to take a hard look at their quality control. I think they are trying to pump out so many so fast that things are getting sorely overlooked. Again please let me know how this goes. Good luck and sorry to hear about this.
I had the same problem with defects in the bluing. I called Henry and they had me send it back to them. Turn around time was less than two weeks from when I sent it back to them to when I got it back. Henry customer service is fantastic. It came back with perfect bluing and looking great.
Your dog barked at the perfect moment of unboxing! He knew his best friend is HAPPY! and was sharing the moment!
Thats great!

The loop I got from Henrypride.com if you google large loop for Henry rifles it should be the first one that pops up.
@@badwolf7455 cool. Thanks man. Tried to get this rifle the other day and there are none to be had here in Canada
Can you order from gunbroker.com? There is one there right now for $919
4 of them on gun broker for
$1,099, Idk if you can order from U.S or not. Good luck brother, let me know if or when ya find one. Curios how low you serial # will be.
Did you separately order the wide loop? Also are the stocks changeable aswell
Got me some nice new screw drivers custom fit to Henry rifles. Shown in my newest on sighting it in. Check em out.
How bad is the recoil ? What would you compare the recoil to ?
Hi, its actually more then I thought but not bad at all. Maybe kicks like an AR, you feal it but its not mean. Id say the kick is just right, enough to know it was a .44mag but not so much that a 10 year old kid couldnt shoot.
Can you get it with the big loop or did you have to order it separately?
Ordered it separate from Henrypride.com costs right around $90. Worth it IMO. I really like that it's color case hardened, really matches well and looks like it was made with the rifle. Thanks for watching.
@@badwolf7455 thanks. It’s beautiful
You recorded your video at a tulo of level I can hardly hear anything you said😮
Badass rifle right there
Wish they put steel butt plates on them instead of recoil pads
I agree totally! They do not need a sissy pad on them at all. I really really wish it had a cch butt plate, it would look ridiculously badass! I also checked on buying the "fancy stock" (they call it) but was informed that they are unavailable for this rifle. Henry could take some advice from a few of us I think and just kill it on this color case hardened rifle. I think it should come with a cch lever rather then black. The large cch loop really looks proper. Large or small it should match the rifle. Thanks for watching.

@@savage1108 I never thought of those things you said. Makes sense. I have never shot one with steal butt plate. So maybe I do like the pad now.
I would email anthony@henryrepeating.com
Thats supposed to be to the owner and CEO directly. He guarantees you 100% satisfaction
fucking beauties'
Great shooters but the bluing on them sucks. I own 2
I had the same problem with defects in the bluing. I called Henry and they had me send it back to them. Turn around time was less than two weeks from when I sent it back to them to when I got it back. Henry customer service is fantastic. It came back with perfect bluing and looking great.
Luckily mine seems fine. Thanks for watching
ewwwwwwww that Large Loop has now ruined your beautiful rifle ...... it was perfect straight out of the box!!!
