- After a week break, I'm back again with another Spiritbox cover! In a combination of finding good instrumentals and trying to decide on which Spiritbox song to do next (a very difficult decision because they are all so good), I landed on Perennial! Let me know which Spiritbox song you would like next!
I got Melodyne 5 to work decently now, so I gave myself the additional challenge of using my first take on each section for the final version, working left to right and not redoing any parts. With only some slight pitch corrections to bring it from 90 to 100% in certain places, I consider this a successful challenge at recording a song as fast as possible! Took me about 30 minutes to get everything! Only part where I cheated a bit is where I recorded the last chorus twice because I thought I would double it but then decided to make it only one track. And so there were a couple lines where it sounded best in my second take so I comped those in :^]
Also decided to make this one a premiere cause why not :D
Instrumental is ripped off a guitar playthrough they put on CZcams. Please forgive the subpar mix :)

Insane cover!! It's not like Spiritbox is particularly easy music. Very consistent and strong falsetto (or high head nice, w/e you use) toward the end as well. Great job.

Thanks man, that really means a lot! Yeah that's what I find is great with the size of it rn, that it's manageable to be able to respond to comments on my new videos. If it gets to the point where I can't, I think that's when livestreams will come into play and be the best way to do interactions. So its good I got the ball rolling on that already

Ayy thanks cheese, though for your top tier producer input, I'm thinking of going back to the foam on the mic set up, I feel like some syllables end up too harsh, like not even a de-essing problem. Thoughts? The high end eq boost is good but I can't really predict on which syllables it ends up being too much, so I'm guessing it can be fixed by the foam
@@VictorBorbaMusic Try it and see how it goes! I think you might be able to get clever with multiband compression or dynamic EQ in the high end to dip out the harsh frequency on the syllables. Use a high ratio like 20:1 or something and set the threshold right where the good sibilance is, so anything above that gets tamed. Orrr bypass it all and get Soothe2 to solve all your problems. Lol

Thanks so much!! I’ll check them out. And yeah I’ve gotten a lot of that for this cover in particular. I’ll be more careful next time. Since I took the audio from their guitar preview, the guitars are louder and drown out the vocals more than normal. So my default volume wasn’t enough, I think that’s what’s happening

rick_ross_ yeah don’t worry about it, I took it as a compliment! For me this is all just for fun and the growth I’ve seen on my channel lately is great, and I foresee more growth in the future! But for me music is a side hobby that I do for fun so I’m not too invested in making it my life’s mission, if that makes sense. Though as more opportunities come up for me the more cool things I get to do with this!

I accept the apology, but moving forward if you don't receive a response from the creator, don't assume it's fine to use (of course I can't stop you and won't go after you if you do, its just a courtesy). I read every comment, but I do feel my cover shouldn't be used for background music on other channels. At the very least if you do put it in your video without permission, you should always link to the original. I recommend to look for another cover or even just use a remixed version of the song for your future videos though
