But a tragedy that the innings hasn't been recorded. I was actually fortunate to have met Kapil Paaji and he had absolute no qualms about the match not been recorded. He was just happy that India had won, nothing else mattered. Legend.

Gaurav, I've watched & heard almost everything you've ever put out there & I just wanted to say that you are an excellent host. I know you must've heard it many times but it is what it is. The way you are able to make guests feel comfortable from the minute they walk in, the way you focus on giving attention & not getting attention is just so wholesome. Conversations just flow with your impeccable balance of friendliness, wittiness & enthusiasm. You ask the right questions (Sean Evans-esque) & you know where to draw the line of what to ask. You are a good listener too which is a rare quality because people nowadays just listen to respond. I know It's 2020 so who doesn't get the hate on the internet but we can always do with a bit of appreciation towards the quality & the hard work that goes into this. Thank you for everything man.

i have played at Turnbridge Wells twice!
Scored 90 odd in an exhibition game in 2016, such a lovely ground and i was just taking pride in playing at the same venue where history was created for Indian cricket.
I was 11 year old at that time and I remember reading about this match after 2 days ...All the news papers in India were filled with stories about this match..Kapil dev is a hero for people like us...we grew up imagining doin things which Kapil dev did...and yes it gave us the hope of life ...

Ayaz Menons story has this old world charm partly because it’s from all the way back in 1983 and partly because it’s our man Kapil Dev - the greatest Indian cricketer of all! Loved this interview! No matter how many times you hear about this 17/5 -> 175 it brings the feelings!

Gaurav, the Tunbridgewells match commentary was available on radio, I remember joining in at 77 for 7 when Shastri got out, Kirmani walked in whacked the first two balls he faced for fours! :-)
Yes, I still remembering listening till about the same with my dad and switching off in disappointment. Then some time later he went out and I switched back on, maybe due to some hope, and Kapil had just gotten past Glenn Turner. My dad won't believe me when I told him India got 266.
