3:44 GK's reaction to a supposed sledge by AA on all the hard hitters in cricket. "There haven't been good enough batsmen to try and break that. It's been what, 20 years now!"
I have listened to the podcast of this a week back. What is 22 in #22Yarns ?
please make it a bit lengthy ❤️
we'll try!
@@shriauti Seriously?
Anyway, the length of a cricket pitch is 22 yards. The name of the podcast, 22 yarns is a play on that where yarn means a story or an anecdote which is what this whole thing is about.
The question now is, will there be 22 videos? 😛
Underrated all-rounder. Since he played during an era in Indian cricket when everyone was a all-rounder he didn't get that much credit.
Underrated.. LoL 😂. Allrounder LoL 😂. 7 first ball ducks in a row. And average of 12. Which Pandya can get if he bats left handed! Pandya is million times better than this run leaker
Hahaha
@@IITianProudIndian 6 wicket haul against australia. Century at lord's. And overall a better player than that douchebag Pandya. Ajit is classy man don't compare him to that dipshit Pandya lool
@@IITianProudIndian Pandya is a better batsman than him but better bowler??? His bowling is way way underrated. He leaked runs at the end of the career. Moreover generally wicket taking bowlers do go for runs even today. 7 ducks in a row is enough for you to say that he is not a good batsman but century at lord's, 22 ball fifty is not enough to convince that he was a decent cricketer? Not to forget his average and strike rate both are better than Zaheer Khan. And their economy is almost same. So Definetly underrated
Ajit Agarkar has more ODI wickets than Zaheer Khan. Now you know how underrated he is.
And at a better average and strike rate
And he could hit the speeds in excess of 145kph regularly with that wiry frame of his coupled with the the deadly outswinger
Yes but Zaheer was consistent , Ajit Agarkar's first 50 wickets were a world record for 11 years a to be broken by Ajantha Mendis. But after his 150 wickets or so he declined in terms of economy. Agarkar wasn't able to evolve himself with smart variations like Zaheer . Also to note Zaheer most wicket came at period 2006-2011 , the time it was not too favourable for favourable for bowlers .Agarkar is overrated but not better than Zaheer .
more wickets in less ODI's ...his economy was the problem .
And better pace😗😗
Ajit Agarkar has scored fastest 50 in Odis by an Indian batsman. Can't believe no one has broken it till date.
yeah right, such a cool fact
A B de villiers has the fastest odi 50
@@kalparajbharadwaj4407 He said "By an Indian batsman". ABD is not Indian I guess
@@akshatabhishek3569 😂😂
First of all Congrats Gaurav for making such a beautiful show. Secondly, what can one say about Ajit Agarkar...seriously one of the most unassuming and underrated Indian cricketer of our times and always giving his 100% commitment. Besides his fastest ODI 50 and the LORDS century, one can never forget his spell of 6/41 in the 2003 Adelaide test against Australia where India won the test match thanks largely due to this brilliant bowling performance.
When he came at Zak's house on 💖 Breakfast With Champions...
Yess!
Finally one of my most fav cricketers .. used to copy his action .. had a mild round arm aspect to it .. and got great pace with swing in the good ol days 🔥
that's great!
Me too. Even now. Very simple but effective action
I still remember his 95 runs inning against Zimbabwe. Where he came for batting at 3rd position.
It was against West Indies
Yes it was against WI in jamshedpur....and Ramnaresh Sarwan hit a four off a full toss from Agarkar on the last ball to win it
People consider Ajit Agarkar as underrated for two reason, 1. Short Test career, 2. Economy rate in ODIs.
But you got to give him credit for his ODI contributions which is rarely spoken of.
I was a huge fan of his and used to tell my teachers that I want to become Ajit Agarkar when I grow up. Well, dad didn't put me into DY Patil academy :-(
He never complaints for the what ever happens with him by board🙏
What happened between him and the board ?
But what happened
True. Unlike other players who complain bunch of stuff after retirement.
Ajit is a guy in a corporate world who does his work silently does not get his due appraisal but is remembered after his resignation 👍
One of finest bowling allrounder....
He use to have those rocket throws from boundary
so true!
Lovely memories of seeing Agarkar sir awesome spells performances through bat and ball 🙏🙌
Glad you enjoyed it!!
@@oaktreesports MSD possible 🙁🥺? We have seen all the legends.... #Nayantarse 🥺
fastest 50 in ODI batting...
More importantly, Ajit Agarkar also held : Early in his career, broke Dennis Lillee's world record for the fastest 50 wickets in ODIs, achieving the feat from only 23 matches......salute!!!
Now how many knew that ;)
I knew that :p But surprisingly in spite of being a bowler, most people remember Agarkar's batting records more than his achievements as a bowler. His SR as a bowler in ODIs was much better than Srinath, Zaheer, Kumble or Harbhajan.
Love you GK!! Ajit was my fav when he took the fastest 50 wickets in ODIs for India!
Thanks :)
Me too
He was my favourite fast bowler on that time
yep mine too! He broke saqlain mushtaq's record of taking fastest 50 wickets in ODI's by doing it in 15 matches! Saqlain did it in 16 matches!
I remember Agarkar for making most difficult catches in the world to a simple looking catch, incredible talent, didn't do justice to himself.
yes, plus he had a rocket throwing arm too.
WOW! 😍 It's been 20 years and he still holds the record of fastest ODI fifty by an Indian...
And he also has his name on the honours' board at Lord's for scoring a test century
Ajit agarkar
.a true gentleman a every sense
Ajit Agarkar!! The most underrated bowler in my opinion!!
He shud have definitely played more for atleast 4 years
Nice to see him and he is still third highest wicket taker in odi for Bharat he has 288 wickets.
He holds a record of hundred at Lord's which is always special 👍👍
yes!
I really like that you said Bharat, and not India
@@RestlessSkeptic thanks bro🙏
It could be possible to cross 300wkt if atlst he played for complete a decade 1998-2008, unfortunately bcci doesn't give dat much importance to him, even in 1999, 2003, 2007 world cups he played few matches.
@@AK-ve4mi Plus he never complained
Ajit Agarkar is such a humble man❤️
for sure!
@@oaktreesports why 22 yarns episodes are so short.I love watching it but it ends so soon @gauravkapur
People criticizing Ajit Agarkar hasn't really followed his career. He was an Incredible fielder with a solid rocket arm throw and used to make difficult catches look easy on numerous ocassion. His average is 27.85 and Strike Rate is 33 with an economy of 5.07 while Zaheer's average was 29.4 & Strike Rate of 36 with economy of 4.93. If you compare their Odi Records Ajit was slightly a better bowler. Yeah overall Zaheer was beyter than Ajit but the point is Ajit never really got his Due credit.
Top top professional Ajit and literally one of the most good looking men to grace Indian cricket. Used to copy his action.
agreed!
Listening to the spotify podcasts and these videos simultaneously, love the series!
Thank youu!
Bowlers like Agarkar and Shami are wicket-takers, they can be expensive, but will always take wickets. That's why they need to play every important match!
Remembering my school days when I used to emulate and copy Agarkar’s bowling action. Really underrated chap. Deserved more.
Thanks for sharing!
Pleasure to watch this incredibly cool Ajit Agarkar, my favorite Indian swing bowler in overseas conditions and a brilliant batsman! Why no talk about his bowling too? Incredible stats their as well.
I think he is one of the best all rounders India produced after Kapil Dev...Guy was very underutilized and was i think ahead of his generation. He could have been like the Flintoff for India. or Chris Cairns for NZ. He still is i think the third highest wicket taker for India in ODI with 296 wickets...that too off an irregular cricket. Imagine where he would have landed if he had got enough chances...he could have touched 400 wickets.
There is something special about these Mumbai cricketers. He and Zak were awesome duo on the ground as well as on the BWC 🤩
Agreeed!
Agarkar ! Man i loved that guy as a bowler.
At Elliots (1999/2000) beach in Chennai, a TV program host on video asked me my fav cricketer and I said Agarkar. He had a good action, could hit good speeds and was an athletic fielder. Am happy to know he is a happy guy, finally he no longer looks like a 19 year old boy.
Iam the only one who imitated Ajit bowling style during my childhood...
The stumper ball used to swing inside...
Always loved Agarkar, he was extremely humble about his achievements. I guess he held the record for fastest to 50 wkts in ODIs till Mendis broke it.
Agarkar's finest achievement will always be Adelaide 2003. People remember Dravid's double century and Laxman's century and deservingly so, but Agarkar's 6 wickets won us the match. Pity he wasn't more consistent.
Yes. very few people talk about it.
My Favorite Cricket Player Ajith Agarkar..
Favorite bowler. In childhood my friends used to call me Agarkar, coz I had big ears like he has in his younger days... Also I used to copy his bowling action. Righat hander Brian Lara of Indian cricket.
He's great!
Ajit Agarkar sir fast Bolling 152k.m in England 2002/3
In childhood I used to copy his bowling style...!! Great player...always puts team first..!!#AA
My favorite allrounder of all time
Ajit Agarkar ne 191 Odi Matches me 288 Wickets liye h
&
Zaheer Khan ne 200 ODI matches me 282 Wickets liye h Phir B Zaheer Hero & Agarkar Unsung Hero
Performance Koi Maayne nhi Rakhta Kya??
Javagal Srinath K Baad Agar Koi Sabse Achcha Fast Bowler thaa To Vo Ajit Agarkar thaa
Love these two. Keep it up with these light conversations. Tired of negativity coming from India.
More to come!
I am really fond of him. Good guy - introvert - good bowler given his limitations but people often forget that he is the 2nd highest wicket taker in ODIs for India 286 - also his 95 at Jamshedpur - I had just started understanding cricket then, also it was the first match that got me interested becasue it was being played in my city.
Same city... Watched it live... Great memories man
Keenan me hamara record achha nahi raha par..... Love d city and that dada 100 v saf in 2000 is my favorite moment
I'm from Deoghar... watched in my home...still remember Sarwan hitting 4 off a full toss from Agarkar to win it
Ranchi me accha nhi hai record....Jharkhand grounds are jinxed for India
THANKS SIR, FOR THIS INTERVIEW. HE IS MY ONE OF THE BEST BOWLERS IN INDIA. ALSO I LOVE THE INTERVIEW OF BWC WITH ZAK AND AJIT. I WATCHED THAT PART MANY TIMES. THANKS FOR THIS INDIAN CRICKET INTERVIEW.
Wow it's been 20 years since his fastest fifty. I remembered that time I was in school and regreted as I missed the inning. #stillfavourite
yeah can you believe it's been that long!
I came back from school and saw India scored more than 300 and won that match easily....was the last match of that series
Not only good bowler and batsmen, he is one of the good fielder too in Indian cricket.
One of the very good bowler ! But more than that the century at lords is the most iconic thing he's made 🤞
true!
one of the finest cricketer.
I tried to copy his balling action in childhood.
would have loved to know about how he felt during the infamous series of ducks as well
Is there a way to view the podcasts with video as well? Spotify would only have audio.
Loved this man.... legend
Love him too!
Great agar kar my favourite cricket er
Excellent podcast..... Kudos to uu!! 👍Gaurav...
Thank youu!!
A decent batter.. a wicket taking bowler and certainly Indias best boundary line fielder .. before Kaif, Yuvi came to the team... had fabulous sprinting ability to take those high catches.
Agarkar helmet, Remember always big helmet
Underrated cricketer..
Am huge fan of yours am happy that you bring these kind of videos in the time of qurataine
I finished breakfast with champions
and isolation League during this lockdown
thank youu!!
For a second I thought it was Sachin Tendulkar and I was like FINALLYYYYY
hahaha, maybe soon!
@@oaktreesports Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
not many know that he once hold the fastest to reach 50 wickets record in ODI.. he however stills hold the fastest 50 wickets in ODI for India
1:00 AA to Ponting," How many 100s at Lord's, yaar?" Lmao.😂
hahaha love that moment
Wonderful commentator now..very good bowler..
successful bowler specially for ODI format.
Thanks GK for giving Ajith Agarkar a recognition at this time... he never got any at his time.
Just was listening to it #WindyWellington #AshishNehra..
Want an episode with mohandas menon

Waiting for new episodes of 22 yarns. I would like to see some umpires on the show :)
keep watching :)
One Day Cricket me No. 1 player Ajit Agarkar sir .
Fasted Speet Avg. 138 k.m. Best all Raundar . Fast 50 ran 23 Boll . Fast 50 Wickets 23 matches . Super fit fildar 284 match me only 13 catch Drop This is a Super world Ricord Lekin kisi ko maalum nahi .
The fastest 50 happened within a year after his 7 ducks in 8 test innings in Australia .If I remember correctly this is in the same series when Zaheer had hit 4 consecutive 6s of Henry Olonga in the last over
ooh!
Yeah but India lost that Olonga match even though Sachin too made a hundred in that game
Icon of this podcast is paranjpe..everyone is waiting to have glance of that genius..no one else matters
watch this space!
Hardik Pandya will break fastest odi 50 record. proud of u Agarkar. ur one of the fastest fielder n good all rounder
During my growing up as a cricketer I used to copy his unique bowling action.
Ik that this wouldn't get much or any attention as such, but when's the next podcast episode coming out??
Good one
Thank you!
I’ve always liked this guy. Despite one Australian summer... he just couldn’t score a single run... he was a very handy seam bowler though.
This channel is a gem🤩🤩
Thank youu!!
Gk bhi..nehraji ko bulaw...unki baat krne ki tarike hi next level ki hai
He was quickest among all Indian bowlers to complete first 50 wickets in ODI. But somehow in later part of his career his form faded away.
💐
I am surprised that neither thought of Hardik Pandya. I think he can definitely get that 50 in 21 balls or less.
Its amazing how suddenly Ajit Agarkar has become "an underutilized talent" or "an underrated allrounder" because I very clearly remember that he used to be so expensive in those days that his 4-5 overs would decide the course of the whole game in favor of the other team. Hindsight is always "awesome" but most people who saw him play know how little he contributed in most games. No disrespect but its unfair to pin blame on captains who didn't "utilise" him.Seeing the same pattern with Irfan who was a mere shadow of his best self when he was dropped.
Oaktree Sports and Gaurav Kapur, it's now your responsibility to upload the video of that Ashish Nehra sixer!
hahah
Bring up our captain cool Ms Dhoni on podcast
Strange how Ponting and Tendulkar didn'r score tons at Lords, just like Curtly Ambrose (I think) never got a five for there. God is fair.
What about his consecutive 7 ducks?? 🐤🐤🐤🐤🐤🐤🐤
Kapil hit 50 in 22 balls in 1980s ....???
uff... what a player
When the length of the interviews are very short???
It’s a podcast actually, fully available on Spotify. This is more like a teaser
There's a link in description for the full podcast!
Thank you :)
As Harsha bhogle is for 🏏 GK is for cricketing stories.
Thank you!!
I am starting to realise Many things wouldn't have happened without Sachin !
Bring kl bro
The videos are tooooooo short.
Please make full conversations just like breakfast with champions
Atleast with The Sunil Gavaskar, Ajit
#NehraJi ko bulao GK ji 😍
we shall try
I think Hardik Pandya can break thik record if he comes out to bat with just 5-6 overs left.
Gaurav was not exercising during lockdown i guess..face has sweeled up 😉
this was shot before lockdown!
MAHARASHTRAIN CRICKETERS ALWAYS BEST JAI MAHARASHTRA
KL rahul may be the next one who can break fastest fiffty record
I'm betting my money on hardik pandya.
