Everyone is quick to claim that the 4 bangers are too heavy. What they don't realize is that the new Sidewinders are only 50lbs heavier than an 850 2 stroke with 50% more power. That's an incredible power to weight ratio. With the potential to make over 300hp reliably and easily. Better fuel mileage as well. I love my 998 Turbo!
When you say new sidewinders are only 50 pounds more which years do you mean? Because I’m looking at 2017-2018 models?
It's crazy how you can see such a power difference just watching the yahama compared to all the 2 strokes.
100hp more will do the job, Personally i rather have a light sled but the 4-stroke is insane :D

I have an Apex 162 with a Yamacharger, exhaust, and EZ Ryde suspension, how much better would a Sidewinder be? I've had this Apex 12 years and looking to get something else.

Mountain late march/early april, fairly heavy powder packed by wind, if its deep enough only the longtrack 250+ HP turbos can get enough speed to climb mild slopes. 2-strokes dont even have enough power to follow behind the Yamaha. When you watch boondocker videos you can see they drive in light deep powder that offers little resistance even when headlight deep, its barely thicker than fog.
