  • Finally returning to do the longer loop hike, I found plenty of wildlife, and enjoyed open spaces all to myself. The day started out quite cold, in the 30s. You could even see the breath of the crows as they cawed.
During my original trip, I wanted to make it to the Withlacoochee River, but I didn't have enough daylight. This time, the mission was a success, though it maybe wasn't as impressive as I was expecting at that spot.
The trail getting there and back was still great. I filmed quail again. This time a whole flock of them. They're normally difficult for me but I've had luck at the park.
There were lots of deer and a variety birds along the way as well.

This place looks so unique. I kept thinking you might still be in Georgia! The misty morning was beautiful! Great video!

It did have a special look to it during early winter and I'm glad I got to start at sunrise on this visit. Spent the whole day there!

Did anyone else hear the Sandhill Cranes at 4:54 and 8:04? So cool and my favorite clips were the armadillo and bobwhites

I have a pair of cranes in the thumbnail for tomorrow's video. Nice foreshadowing! I like that the armadillos will walk right by you sometimes. Quail on the other hand are tough to film but I've had good luck at this location.
