- Starting at the Blue House Trailhead, I head north passed the observation platform. I keep to the left as far as the trail goes then loop back through the woods, closer to the road. It's a bit of a lollipop trail and at the point I made it back to the stem, I added an out and back spur trail to reach the Ocklawaha River. It's more of a canal at this point but I did get to see my second big buck of the day. The first was near the beginning of the hike. Another highlight for me was filming a Cooper's Hawk. This one had a fresh kill. There was also a barred owl, some gators, other deer and birds. One heron had a snake that it was fighting to swallow. Lot of great wildlife sighting found on this trip. I was half hoping to see a bear and I did see scat more than once. Maybe a second trip is in order.
I should also mention I did see a bobcat run across the trail. I just failed to get it on camera.
This place is special.
Beautiful area! Seeing the misty mornings in your videos is making me want to become a morning person! I've always been a night owl, lol. I really enjoyed this video!
This was a really good day. The main reason I'm out early is to be first on the trail, so none of the animals have been scared off yet.
Very beautiful 🤩❤️
Truly, both the scenery and the wildlife!
