Infinite bombs
Unlimited bombs
You can actually get the crown easier:
1) Bomb the first altar
2) Meet with the dude, get the bombs
3) Find a pot with diamond (the one that summons the ghost if broken) in it and find a way to break it while you're near it (for example you may throw a rock and stand near it, while trying to get the rock bounce to the pot)
4) Get the crown in the next altar
so you skip one alter with this method? Nice find!

#3 is giving yourself curse from Ghost pot? If so, I wonder if the curse from witch doctor would work too?
@@mscott7426 yeah. After blowing up 1 altar and getting Beg's bomb bag, the next altar you find while cursed will grant you the crown. If you use a ghost pot or witch doctor, you don't have to find 2 extra altars and simultaneously deal with ball&chain, enemy spam and the ghost. you could get the true crown as early as 1-3

The crown seems to teleport you every 22 seconds (which explains the 22 bombs)
22 Is angel number but I forgot everything else
22 has to deal with the fool tarot card hence the jester hat and this correlates to the saying the joker is the one in control

You just need to destroy one altar, meet Beg once and then get cursed and meet him again at an altar.
The third altar destruction just happens to curse you. Here are other methods to get cursed:
-break a ghost pot on yourself
-get hit by the death shaman's skull
-stand next to a mummy cat as it dies
or fall dawn while holding a ghost pot, probably the most time effective way and the most easy to reproduce
Well yeah, that's my first suggestion. It's just that doing it while falling down isn't 100% reproducable. At least not for me.
Usually I do it by simply bombing the floor it stands on and being bellow it.
True chaos is a teleport button, a teleport backpack and a true crown. Maybe if you can get all 3 you could find something?

Since the "True" Crown is a Jester (aka. Fool's) Hat, i wouldn't be surprised if you get Excalipoor instead.

@@spun1930 Final Fantasy reference. Excalipoor is basically a knock-off Excalibur with terrible stats. Usually, you'd go "YES, this gotta be one of the best weapons in the game!! Wait what...!? Oh..."
There is a fourth crown as well...
But you can't get it before Excalibur/City of Gold. It's the eggplant crown from Yama that let's you throw eggplants instead of whip.

Beg is a follower, and the crown is supposed to make you one too.
It would seem like a wasted opportunity if it doesn't do anything.
Maybe we could learn something about Tun and Beg through that.
Speaking of Hundun, does having the true crown affect interactions with the moon/stars/sun challenge lady in any way?

True crown doesn't have a direct interaction with hundun, you can just telefrag him I think
You can get it by only destroying one altar : the only prerequisites to Beg giving you the Crown is having met him once (by having blown up one altar), and to be cursed.
While you may want to destroy two more altars to be cursed, it may be smarter to curse yourself via a ghost pot (hard to pull off, though : getting hit by a lizard while carrying the pot can do it, so can dropping it on you via a Volcana conveyor belt), or you can use enemies like Witch Doctors or even a cat from the Temple.

Maybe if you make it to 7/8-22 something happens
there is another method where after blowing up the first altar and talking to beg in the 2nd you immediately curse yourself via any way of cursing yourself normally and then in the 3rd altar he gives you the true crown

I just wish the true crown had more viability in runs. For instance, it can teleport you while giving you bombs constantly, but not into blocks or instant death scenarios. Sort of like the telepack. That would be fair, considering the amount of effort it takes to get the crown in the first place.
The True Crown gives you 22 bombs every time you teleport, and it isn't "random." you teleport every 22 seconds. It makes Tun angry at you and Shopkeepers charge you more for his items.

The teleport isn't random (at least not the position)
It teleports you every 22 seconds from the start of the level or from when you pick it up
The position is between 4 and 8 tiles like a teleporter
If you get a weapon you should kill the vampire cause it drops cape
All you need to get true crown is get the 3 bombs from beg like you did and get cursed in anyway you dont have to destroy more then 1 kali alter i recomend going temple im true crown runs then have a curse cat curse you in 4: cus if you go city of gold there is a 100% chance to get true crown therethen go duat and your no longer cursed so its realy easy just try to build bake favor so kapala is still possible.
I don't play spelunky, but to figure out the next step, one could only assume you need a LOT of bombs to continue. Blow up a while stage? Like I said I don't play, just watch, but is there anything that sticks out that needs a lot of bombs to do?
There’s not a place where you need a lot of bombs or think you do. I’ve discovered all places and the only thing i havent explored thoroughly is the cosmic ocean. Maybe that has a secret that requires true crown and tons of bombs? Bombs are very useful overall but the 1hp and random teleportation? Risky.
@@trolleycartwings one place I could think of that uses a lot of bombs is the ulmec fight, ulmec himself throws a ton of bombs, but I don't see how you having a ton would change anything. What's the name of goddess or whatever that the alter belongs to? Would she be found in like duat or something? Idk, I'm just trying to throw ideas around and seeing if something sticks
@@Gelfling66 there is a kali statue in duat that spawns a bomb bag right before the osiris fight, iirc? it's not a usual sacrifical altar but there is a statue of kali with a pedestal that the bag spawns on

@@gmsh3794 The spawn depends on how much you sacrificed earlier so it's not always bomb. Could be nothing, cooked turkey, bomb bag, bomb box or even a power pack.

So, you only really need three altars
Destroy the first one
The second one will have beg with the bombs
Get cursed with a ghost pot
And the third one will give you true crown without any ball and chain in between
It does not teleport you randomly in any way, it is like you are holding a teleporter and are forced to use it every 22 seconds
I tried doing it on a seeded run but Beg didn't spawn on the 4th altar. I guess it doesn't work on seeded runs?
You don’t need to destroy 3 altars, you just need to destroy 1, spawn behind then become cursed. When you enter a level and there’s a kali altar, you can uncurse yourself before talking to beg and he will give you the crown. It teleports you every 22 seconds and gives you 22 bombs each teleport

The true crown also seems to double prices. I tried to get the hedjet in conjuction, but I accidentally triggered shopkeeps in the process..

I know im late but... the true crown doesnt actually teleport you at random intervals, it teleports you every 22 seconds in the direction you are facing. So essentialy its just free bombs and/or a tp out of a sticky situation. I only get consistently to 1-4 but from streams i'd reccomend not getting it before olmec, as it could get you killed easily there.
Does this particular crown allow you to go to the City of Gold or obtain Excalibur?

Boris Slarkevich i know all of them. Elixer is from completing challenge in the temple. Ghist is from taking a photo of a dead caveman (thats how i got it). Broken excalibur is from using a clone gun on it and ghost shopkeeper is a shop underneath the 1st world boss part. You must be cursed to enter.

I don't blame you! Teleportation is extremely dangerous when you can control it; being teleported involuntarily every 22 seconds would be a nightmare around all the instant death traps, AND being cursed.
@Major Cbass The eye doesn't allow you to get Excal.
@Major Cbass You need a crown (Hedjet or Vlad's in normal) so I think True would work as it replaces the other crown on the HUD.

You have headgear (Hedjet or Crown is most common, though True Crown should work too) and carry Anubis' Scepter to the gold door in Temple.

I have seen invigoration by sacrificing cure a curse. Pretty sure the elixir would also cure curse. Maybe a regular royal jelly will also do the trick...
