- This is a showcase of the Queen League Grand Prix along with Death Wind II in F-Zero 99. This game was updated on September 28 and added 5 new tracks.
Grand Prix: Queen League
0:24 - Mute City II
3:26 - Port Town I
6:19 - Red Canyon I
9:06 - White Land I (Old Track)
12:12 - White Land II
Pro Tracks
16:38 - Death Wind II - Hry
What's your favorite new track?
White Land II
Red canyon
White Land 2. I TT'd it quite a bit and have been getting top 5 finishes on that course whenever I made finals in the queen cup. Challenging & fun 👍
Death Wind 2 because I hate myself lol
Red Canyon
I can't wait for Fire Field, I can only imagine how crazy a 99 race in that track will be.
It will probably only be 20 racers, unfortunately. The finale tracks are only available in Grand Prix, and only 20 people can make it to finales. We'll see if that changes later on.
I cant believe the shortened the giant jump in White Land 2.
This is so sad, I was hoping to have that jump be a noob killer like it is in the original game. Oh well. White Land II is still pretty fun.
@@solarstorm5242 same. All the rage outs well never get to see, lol.
That was iconic. Did you ever do the double jump by landing on the opposite jump pad?
@@Redskies453 yeah! It landed me in white land 1 once in the snes version, and the pickup ship took me back to the race! Interestingly enough, it doesn't look like you can do that here either unfortunately.
@@dragons_hook oh yeah it was on the same map I forgot! I don't think I ever landed on it but we used to fly off into the distance and I remember seeing it.
New tracks will be the thing to keep this kind of game fresh. (Though the tracks aren't exactly new if you've played the first F-Zero for the SNES.)
What I'm wondering is, will they stop after all 15 SNES tracks are in, or will they add more tracks from other games like the BS F-Zero Grand Prix games or the GBA games?
@@ModernXP_imagine 99 cars at Silence II or Metal Fort though
They should port BS f zero tracks or climax tracks
I do want at least a few tracks from other games. For variety
They really need to add some from the gba games or completely new ones as there’s only 3 more left from the snes and after a couple of weeks that will get old quickly. They are fairly simple looking so they should easily be able to come up with lots of new ones pretty quickly. They can make up to 3 variations of each background to fill out too
It's weird how I've gotten the background for Port Town 2 and Port Town 1 is just way easier
The removed turns make it quite a bit easier, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I just wish that there was an additional lap for PT I considering how short it is.
@@solarstorm5242 well, PT II is a "pro track" so can't appear so easy in normal matches, instead they have PT I for more "casual" play in normals or mini prix
@@oxob3333 true, but still. It’s reaaally short.
Death Wind II will be in the upcoming King League in October so be on the lookout for that.
We'll also see Port Town II in the upcoming King League.
The King League will also have Mute City III, Red Canyon II,
and spoiler alert for tho never played an F-Zero game before:
Fire Field.
Death Wind II is already available as a pro track currently 👍🏾 and it's a real mess 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Seems that everyone chose violence in this league. Havent got a win, but podiumed twice. I do REALLY well on WL2 and RC1... then again Fire Stingray and Wild Goose seem to be my main machines of use.
13:00 did they really just nerf the White Land II jump? This was a special moment for me as my Uncle taught me how to do this when I was 8 back in 1992
Yeah, they did. I made a comparison video here showing both versions side-by-side: czcams.com/video/-SpfhTYODvk/video.htmlsi=44do4xr87pn0ANvn
The hell!?
I was expecting a pileup at *THE JUMP!?*
They nerfed the jump. It's much easier in F-Zero 99 than in SNES. Also, White Land II is currently limited to 20 racers.
I hope Nintendo decide to add F-Zero GP2 tracks and cars to this game (since this game was forgotten), and even create new tracks!
Bruh I keep doing great in the Queen League with the Blue Falcon but I can’t ever win because I do so crap on Mute City II. Twice in a row got 56th. Any good tips to get a good position on it because as long as I do good on that track, I can probably win the Queen League no problem.
Check some classic time trials from the SNES era for some tips. They would be able to help for all except for boosts (as F-Zero 99 ditched the S-Jets and added the X Boost and Super Boost).
That being said, the Super Boost goes through the middle of the circle, so you do save time there.
The only tip I can think of is to use the skyway to cut through the circle. And if you don't have skyway, boost through the dirt.
@@theonewhowrotethis5681 Was looking into some and they all pretty much play the same as I normally do. I think for me it’s just that I consistently get smacked around the track since it’s so thin and get unlucky with the super boost timings. Maybe I should be saving it for the final lap?
@@ModernXP_ I’ve been looking into that and the two best ways I think for me to use it both depend on where the guys at the front are at. If I’m far back and they’re about to reach the circle, I use it to cut it off since most people won’t have reached it yet or if I’m close to the guys at the front which is rare, I use it just before hitting the wall when the paths split. The big issue after that is just the timing of getting the boost and also everyone else pushing me around and the bumpers as well
Hey look at that I just won the Grand Prix. See as long as I did good on Mute City II of course I’d win lol
New tracks: levels from the 2 Players option from the original game.
I should have known
There was no 2 player option in the original?
Honestly, White Land II is the highlight in this cup. Red Canyon I isn’t bad at all, and so is Port Town I, but I prefer RC II and PT II is burnt in my mind as a tragedy for the many failed runs I had. I’m definitely biased here. I must say though, WL II’s jump feels shorter than in the original game. Probably due to how the game itself feels.
If we’re counting it, Death Wind II wins in my book. Favorite track of the bunch they released, this is gonna be a beautifully tense nightmare in the king’s cup with 80 to 60 people on the track.
Looking forward to Red Canyon II and Fire Field though!
I know the music is the correct music for the tracks but the lack of variety is getting to me. They should write or adapt later game music in a SNES style
Look it’s not their fault people keep choosing mute city!
white land 2 remains elusive
is blue falcon the meta for the queen league?
Not necessarily, it's just my preference. It seems the Fire Stingray is widely regarded as the best vehicle.
@@ModernXP_ but the majority of the guys winning are using blue falcon
That doesn't really mean anything. Players who are skilled enough can win with any vehicles.
@@ModernXP_ That is very true. Reminds me that one of my favorite vehicles in a different AGR game is Buran from Redout 1. They have poor acceleration and handling but have a decently strong boost and a decent health pool. Overall, I love their design and I can do pretty well with them despite how bad they are compared to the other racers.
Actually 4. Port Town I was already available as Pro-Track.
No it's 5? I'm not sure if it's a difference in region or something because I'm playing from the US but the port town I always got in pro races before the update was Port Town 2 from the king league, this Port Town 1 from the queen league is new. Also Nintendo even said in their announcement tweet that 5 new tracks were added, not 4. I believe you're referring to Whiteland 1 not Port Town 1.
@@therealmist14You're correct. There are 5 new courses in this update.
-Mute City II
-Port Town I
-Red Canyon I
-White Land II
-Death Wind II (as a Pro Course).
The two Pro Courses while Knight League was active were White Land I and Port Town II.
The next update should contain only 3 new courses (unless if they include the BS Satellaview courses), which would be the following:
-Mute City III
-Red Canyon II
-Fire Field
And if BS Satellaview is later included, we would get the following 10 courses:
-Mute City IV
-Big Blue II
-Sand Storm I
-Silence II
-Sand Storm II
-Forest I
-Metal Fort I
-Forest II
-Metal Fort II
-Forest III
Actually, 5. The video showed off 6 courses, and 1 was a Pro Course from last time (White Land I).
6-1=5
Port Town I is new to this update. Port Town II was the other Pro Course last time.
@@theonewhowrotethis5681 holy shit sand storm I and II would be NUTS with 99 players
yo en la primera vez que jugué resistí
I’m too shit to get the last tracks😢
RED CANNYON I is easy, and so very difficult to win.
All the maps seem like the same sh*t from SNES version.. also it seem like the maps are the same from the first cup just a tad bit more difficult instead of an entire new map 🙄
They are the same tracks from the SNES version. F-Zero 99 is the SNES game, but with 99 player online multiplayer. It was never advertised as a brand new game or anything. However, there are plenty of changes, additions and modes that make it feel fresh.
@@ModernXP_ o alrighty they should at least add 10 new maps from scratch 🤣💀🤣
@@Dreweybaby I honestly wish they would do that as well, or do something else that I think would be the same: events where the race tracks are modified for extra challenge. Make this like a mini prix, having to complete three tracks back to back, and call it ‘Master’s Series’. The name would reference the hardest difficulty in the game, and it would add some more longevity to the game. It doesn’t need to be a lot, like for instance, adding ramps to Death Wind, making a few turns tighter, or potentially adding entirely new sections (Imagine adding 10 seconds to the lap time on Fire Field when it releases)
Also, yeah, just go take a look at the map of Fire Field. You’ll understand why I want it so bad. If you can, go play the original just to get a feel for the tracks in the king’s league as well.
Perhaps they could add in some tracks from the GBA game?
@@Superscope64 Now that could be possible. Bringing the GBA tracks could be a good move. Just flatten any elevation, account for the possible changes and you’re good to go.
