What's the title of the video for the rest of Macreedy's tale? I'm on mobile so I can't click on the link in the video, and there isn't one in the description.
A profile of MacCready: czcams.com/video/FiAupJIMk4U/video.html
You can also press the button with an i on it on the top right of the screen, or click the annotation when he mentiones it

Thanks. Also I'm on a kindle fire tablet, so maybe it's just a kindle thing where you can't click on links in the video.

Lucy's "The Doctor Is In" sign appears to be a reference to the Peanuts character Lucy, who had a very similar sign in the strip.
Daniel Stenger yeah that is probably a peanuts reference
It is.
And the Peanuts' Lucy added "very" in front of "in" on her sign.
"In" meant cool or popular in the 1960s when those characters came out.
Wow, I never knew that. X'''D
in times past it was a common practice for a doctor to have his office in his home
And they would have a sign telling people whether or not he was accepting patients that day or not also it was a time when doctors made house calls and may not be literally in the house
so that people would know not to disturb him if it wasn't an emergency
The kids are so well written. Their responses are all unique and not your typical kinda dialogue. You learn so much about each one from relatively short conversations. Gg writers.
Humungus... huge mungus... huge mungos... mungos. Assuming that humungus and ginormous are part of kids parlance in the world of Fallout as they were when I grew up.
Nicholas Cross Ha! That makes a lot of sense.
If that's a reference, I don't get it, sorry. If it's an accusation, then no.
About a year or two ago a feminist was recording a guy outside a court room. Said guy asked if she wanted to know his name. "Hugh Mungus" he answered. She, being a feminist, blew it out of proportion as some kind of attack on her.
If you're intrigued, search "Hugh Mungus Lady" to see it in all it's cringy glory.
Wow. Just... wow. Let's hope she never meets Yorick Hunt...
Big Chungus.
Our time in Lamplight can basically be summed up as this. "how do you do, fellow kids?"
McCready is my favourite character in this game. Love having the Child at Heart perk, just to have the conversation about butt faces with him.
But child at heart perk is stil a dumb and useless perk.
I always have a few extra perk slots, so I'd rather get a laugh or two out of one than get a perk that I will never care to use.
@@renaxakai3 That sounds..... reasonable.
Princess would probably become a raider eventually
Eh, she's a weakling when it comes to physical violence. She'd probably try to join a raider gang when she graduates to big town but the raiders would probably use her for...other things...

this place bugged me the most ---it most awkwardly showed the fact that Bethesda couldnt or wouldnt make models at various ages, everyone between 5 and 15 just look 12, and everyone from 16-50 looks 25, but hey, at least everyone over 50 looks 80, thats not far off
Yeah that annoyed me too, I wish the kids didn't just look like taller or shorter versions of the same age. I wonder if kid characters will be better in FO76?
there are no child models in 76; the only humans will be players as adult models with the same creation system as FO4.... so, we'd have to wait until FO5 to see if they improve the models
That does make me think of something with 76 -- these people have been in the vault for about 20, 25 years, right? That's definitely enough time for not only kids who were born in the vault to grow up, but could conceivably have kids of their own. I wonder if there's going to be something that explains why there aren't going to be any kids running around.
The thing that annoyed me is the only choice you can make is talking. I hate those little midgets. I wanted to shoot em up but ops, I can't. Killing children is restricted.
its fine considering that the average lifespan in a place like the capital wasteland should be less than 40
I think it's kind of like the Railroad. They have children that are agents who explore and spread the word to other kids about Little Lamplight. There is also the possibility that adults that used to be here know how bad the wasteland is and send their children or orphans there because they trust it. It's obviously survived quiet some time.
That "CYOOT" at the start had me creasing xD
31:00 "There may be danger here."

The little lamplighters eat fungus, the fungus eats strange meat, the strange meat is human meat and the fungus is green... sooo FUNGUS (soylent green) is made of people!
BoyurBee Gaming
So Bethesda invented Soilent Green? Or is it an Easteregg?
It's a reference to the film 'Soylent Green' (based on the book 'Make Room, Make Room' by Harry Harrison, if memory serves) in which the global population grew to the point where food was growing scarce and they started to process the dead into a new foodstuff, marketed as soylent green. The film ends with a dying Charlton Heston vainly trying to alert the indifferent masses to the fact that "Soylent green is people!" which still gets quoted.

I thought I was watching an old video and started looking for the Big Town one. And I was distraught to find that it didn't exist! Then I realize this was a new video and I rejoiced. Can't wait for the next installment of this wonderous exploration of one of my favorite video games. Thank both you and your glorious beard.
Little Lamplight was always one of my favourite locations in Fallout. I really wish it had more content than it already has.
I want a mod that replaces MacCreadys voice in Fallout 4 with his 10 year old vouce
I would love that
What are you looking at? Keep scrolling, mungo!

Joseph Stalin hahaha
This place is especially fun to encounter with the "Child at Heart" perk. I love that little dialogue line. I miss that perk.
I was so happy to see him in Fallout 4. I think I squealed and asked him if he recalled me telling him that his face looks like my ass (outside of game, I just needed to say it). I also couldn't help but ask how "being a mungo's treating him".
Haha
The Sticky escort mission (A Sticky Situation) is probably the most annoying mission in ANY video game. As a joke, it'd be funny to make a mod to allow Sticky as a companion!
I am glad I found Big town before escorting Sticky.Fast traveling never fails. :^)
Trinoculus P You could have just fast traveled to Big Town.
I could have shot Sticky too, that would have been strangely satisfying :)
You can use Sticky as a companion, just never take him to Big Town. I gave him power armor and a plasma rifle. I think you can just give him stuff without reverse pickpocketing. It's funny to have him along with Charon because he's the tallest companion npc and Sticky is the shortest, so the contrast is funny.
edit: Yeah you can just give him stuff like Ox does in the vid.
After a while he stops talking after you tell him something like "god do you ever shut up?!" or something.
Lance Uppercut I salute your patience, I barely made it to Big Town without turning the game volume off. It was funny to me to leave his party hat on, however, he's super squishy without equipping him.
Ox,
I'm not sure if you saw it, but the "Doctor is in!" sign is a reference to Charlie Brown because that's the same sign the character Lucy hangs on her Psychiatric booth whenever she is there
*_There May be Danger Here_*
"Mole wearing a little hardhat... Cuute" I snickered :)
I always loved the reaction I had in Fallout 4 when i heard the name "MacCreedy", made my ears perk up and when i went to investigate you hear him mouthing off the same way "Yup, that's definitely MacCreedy" and he can be my companion? oh hell yes
*"Yeah, I'll bet you've heard all about the "fungus in my cavern."*
-Mayor MacCready, 2277.
Never realized Mccready was the mayor lmaoo
Collin Mac he mentions it in f4
I dont use him as a companion so i would have missed it
You would have if you played fallout 3 first.
The people who hate MacCready in Fallout 4 because of how he is in this game are so psychotic. I mean, you're hating an orphan capable of defending an entire town simply because he was mean to you as a kid. 😂
yeah its pretty stupid, we are barely surviving the wasteland and those kids are enduring pretty well, and just for they being "mean" to the player, the big mungo, are we gonna really hate that much the little shrimp ?
Hey! I ate the coprses of the last human that said that to me. More specifically, dr amari and irma.
I mean yeah in FO4 I shot him in the face and then ate his body right after finding the cure for his sons disease and then throwing it into the ocean right in front of him...
But he called me a mungo! :'(
I’m not convinced he wasn’t scamming us with that sob story about his wife and son and the cure. He probably sold it to some traders for a shit-load of caps.
The kids in any Bethesda game are so more annoying than adults. If I had this game, I would just avoid Little Lamplight in the first place.
Nothing better then hearing a story of 82 kids trapped in a cave while nukes are dropping.
I’ll finally be able to play fallout 3 since my dad found his old fallout 3 disc
TCK53 nice bud what play it on PS3 or what
TCK53 Congratulations, have fun on your adventures 💘
TCK53 youre dad was a gamer ?
You should get the Game of the year edition from Walmart. You get all DLC and it’s only $20

Watching your Fallout 3 vids makes me realize just how much I had forgotten about this game. 3 is the only one I don’t currently own a copy of
Love the "Thing" nod to RJ MacCready xD
I never actually played Fallout 3 so this is the first time I got to see MacCready before he meets up with the sole survivor in fallout 4. And dear god has he changed. He went from fowl mouthed kid to dedicated family man and father in only a decade. It just goes to show how much people change when they age and mature.
You can get princess' background story along with a short side quest if you choose the right dialogue options in game. I remembered the story you read from the Fallout 3 strategy guide from my playthrough lol i love these characters.
02:42
Sounds like he ain't kiddin
Lockjaw, brother!
McCreedy was in Fallout 4?? WHOAAAA!! I'm glad you're covering this quest. It always disturbed me because it was towards the end of the game and the fact that the little kids were *living* right next to Super Mutants that could kill them. Uggghhh. Scary stuff.
Much like the riaders the mutants most likely clicked that little lamp light is a breeding pool that costs no resources and sends freash fed 18 years unarmed out in the wastlands every year or so, i think oxhorn was right in his comment "how many little lamplighters became radiers" but also "how many got dragged away and dunked in fev"
Always felt like this was one of the spots where Bethesda forgot the war was 200 years ago, not just 20
I would say there dozens of spots that showed the team or some where really wanting to do just after the nukes dropped game than 200 years later.
@@alexshinra6722 Oh certainly, especially compared to the West Coast where you saw genuine growth and rebuilding efforts within 50-120 years, like Vault City or The Hub.
Lol!! I been waiting since Oxhorns video about Shaun in Fo4 to hear him say Wazer Wifle again!!! xD
Hey Ox, another great video! You really have a knack for storytelling; a perfect fit for weaving together the bits of lore and environmental clues strewn about the Fallout open world.
I wonder, are your children big on the whole bed-time storytelling/book reading? I can definitely see how your talents would shine in that department! Some of my fondest memories from childhood are of my favorite Uncle and his famous "Ghost stories" that he would come up with on the fly and expertly scare the crap outta my brother and me, everytime we begged him to tell us one (all of which, to this day, he cheekily maintains are true stories that definitely happened to him, or some friend, friend of a friend etc.).
*Takes a couple of steps to exit Little Lamplight
"Are we there yet?"
I adore Zip, he's so precious.
It’s always heart breaking to see kids in Fallout, and it’s true when there is war, people should really think about the children, not themselves.
It’s actually great news to see Children in a Apocalypse surviving on their own.
Little lamplight always made me a bit uncomfortable. Not quite sure why, other than the immediate hostility from most of its residents.
Deamons64 Potentially the fact that there is only children?
That moment Oxhorn relises his mistake taking Sticky...love it :)
Love little lamplight
Hunter André Little lamplight is the best argument for having kids be killable in fallout.
Trust Oxhorn to make an hour long video on Little lamplight, you really do go above and beyond in your explorations of lore. Well done!
Oxhorn, you have to make a shirt showing both MacCreadys saying "Straight Outta Lamplight" on the front, and on the back, both of them walking with Lamplight, and Goodneighbor behind them. I would wear that.
I remember following sticky to protect him and five minutes in a random death claw attacked him. I immediately loaded an earlier save file lol.
I like to sit down with a drink food and watch oxhorn and his stories of all the fallout games
I was waiting for this one since your first FO3 video. My favorite location other than the Republic of Dave. Can’t wait for the Big Town video
Oh, so the Wazer Wifle that kid Shaun makes you in 4 is a reference to this! That's so cute! I already loved that gun because of its cute name and the fact that kid Shaun made it for me, but now I love it even more.
In my game, Sticky and Dogmeat killed a Yao Guai on the way to Big Town, before I could even get my weapon out. I though, it’s his birthday, and gave him some metal armor, metal helmet, a laser rifle and a sledgehammer. I thought we were dead but Sticky and Dogmeat killed the Yao Guai in two hits. I was flabbergasted the rest of the way and thought if he kept fighting like that he’d be a great asset to Big Town.
YES, a little lamplight vid at last!
Thank you ox
This is like a more tame version of one of the original Star Trek episodes. It's a really interesting concept.
(Edit) Maybe when the kids leave and have their own children, they bring them here where they know they'll be safe and taken care of. The wasteland is dangerous, and no parent wants to leave their child alone with nothing if they die for whatever reason
Just realized, the skeleton with the party hat on a cage was Sticky. It's his 16th Birthday and was captured immediately after leaving. :(
This might be the wrong place to ask this...but since you've done a few diversions toward other games, is there any chance the next time you take a break from Fallout you might be able to cover BioShock and the lore?
MultiTelan He plays Bioshock in some of his older scotch and smoke rings videos. Would be cool if he covered Infinite though, that story was confusing as hell.
Well crap...I guess I missed those. I'll have to check the archive. 1 and 2? Minerva's Den? I know not many people liked 2...but I do believe it still has some lore.
Jason M
Yeah I was gonna say, be really cool if he did Bioshock Infinite!
MultiTelan I thought 2 was pretty good. Yeah, if you go back alittle you can find the episodes easy.

This all reminded me of Robbin William's Peter Pan. Who do you pick as the characters?
You know I always think about the occasional children even raider tribes are surely having.
Little Lamplight seems like a missed opportunity, to drop some lore about being the place Raiders send their unwanted "accidents"
Yes lets go its time for my daily dose of fallout lore
"This is the story of Sticky."
Ok, I've got 500 hours in this game and I never noticed the gat dang mole statue above the cave. Never. This game will never cease to amaze me.
I’ve been waiting for this video to come out only 40 seconds in and I know it’s going to be awesome
I love this place because you know it was inspired by the 1960's Star Trek where they go to the planet full of kids.
BONK BONK LOVEY DOVEY!
Yes! And wasn't that Star Trek inspired by the book "Lord of the Flies"?
Bonk Bonk on the head!
Damn you. Now I have Miri stuck in my head. That was one of my favorite episodes as a kid.
At least that episode made sense since the grups turned crazy and eventually died anyway, and had enough time to have kids before succumbing (though also their population was in severe decline). This though just doesnt make any logistical sense. Are these kids immortal? The bombs were like 200 years ago...
It's kinda sad that a underbudget 42 minute Trek episode is more fleshed out than a several hour main sidequest from such a large studio.
It's obviously Beyond Thunderdome
Would've been a nice bit of foreshadowing if MacCready referred to the cave fungus as their "Great Green Jewel(s)."
Mc Cready - I really like him. As a child, he's like a little runt. But movin' over to Fallout 4, he develops so much - so much that I think he's one of the best companions you can get. Bethesda did good to keep him and to give him that kind of evolution from Fallout 3 on. Since he also has so much in common with your own character. Nice video as always - keep up the good work! :)
Sweet! I was actually looking for this video on your page lol, i didnt realize you hadnt gotten to it yet
Me too -- I never finished FO3; my character is still trapped on Point Lookout somewhere, so I never got to Little Lamplight. Was curious about it though, and here comes Ox with a video...
Joe Salemi wait a minute how are u trapped in point lookout
David Laurel Metaphorically speaking - My character has been in Point Lookout for a couple of years since I stopped playing...
Joe Salemi oh I thought u got lost in point lookout that place is really small
Joe Salemi I could never not finish my first playthrough of any Fallout game
Me talking to princess: “Shooting at me would be a big mistake, kid”
Princess: “Oh really? That’s a cute little imagination you’ve got”
Me coming back with a full suit of Winterized T-51b power armor: “IM SORRY WHAT’D YOU SAY”
Little Lamplight is such a huge, confusing location. When I go there I always got turned around, to the point where exploring became a hassle so I just rush to murder pass or the computer terminal that leads to the vault. I’m glad Ox did a lore video on this location because I never had the patience to fully explore this place myself. Always thought it was an interesting location. A city of children.
God damn you with every fibre of my being, Sticky. Your messy death at the hands of the Frag Mines I forgot to retrieve in the defence of Big Town will always be a high point of Fallout 3.
wait what if gob from megaton is actually mr.cob here's why, because mr.cob left and never came back and the bombs dropped before he left so assuming mr.cob turned into a ghoul while exploring he made his way to megaton and told everyone that his name was cob.then, people gave him the nickname gob meaning ghoul and cob. he didn't go back because of the dangers of the wastelands
Wanna play fo3 but I’ll have to settle with nv for now thanks for the vid ox! (Also can’t wait to see your play through of the yes man nv route!)
Hey Ox!
Just wanted to say thank you for all the work you do. I've been a little down over the past couple of months, suffering from depression and social anxiety. At the end of a tricky day, watching a video of yours, combined with your brand of humour and positive outlook really puts me at ease.
It's one thing to do really well edited content, but you also ask great questions about morality and the like (your video on why Fallout 4 is better than people think being one of the most positive gaming videos I've ever seen).
I just wanted to say thank you for your work and keep doing what you do! If I'm ever in Seattle I'll buy you a glass of scotch!
Little Lamplight is one of the locations I've been really curious about in Fallout 3, great video as always Ox!
A big town video after this would be awesome! Keep up the good work Ox!
I didn't finish before I typed this 😂 but cant you get a heck ton of strange meat from Andale?
The mayor maccready?
Hey Ox. Do you suppose that Little Lamplight is reference to the missing field trip that took place in the caves of Malta? All the kids, park staff, and teachers went missing without a trace. For days residents would claim that they could hear faint cries for help underground. That was decades ago, the caves have been sealed up. Permanently.
I already did big town, but i havent been to little lamp light yet, so good luck working on big town, remember to heal timebomb
Oh my god the Macready from fallout 4! The gunner! He even tells you that he was once a mayor from here!! Bro I just found this out, thanks!
Ever since you talked about Biwwy, I noticed every W you pronounced.
Loved the video and I love the fact that fallout links characters between both games and they have so much lore behind them. Keep up the good videos please 🙏🏻
OH, this bring a lot of nostalgia. Mostly of me running around the capital wasteland like a madman, this place is the worst to find without an marker.
I love little Lamplight what made Fallout 4 so disppointing for me is because there was not anything Iconic like Little Lamplight in Fallout 3.
