Wow, an actual BMS that looks good! they've done a nice job on this.... the two power resistors in series are the "pre-charge" circuit if the pack ends up low-voltage. That most likely indicates that the BMS IC is a Texas Instruments part which supports pre-charge. The secret button is likely the "wake" button for the BMS... Specific TI chips need a wake button after assembly before they start evaluating the cells. It's an assembly feature.

Precharge for the inverter capacitors is likely . That is so the inverter surge won't kick off the protections and bms shut down battery power. That has been an issue with some of the server rack lithium batteries but the newer ones have the precharge circuit now.
@@LarryKapp1 Yup could be that too! TI chips such as the BQ40z80 have both pre-charge and pre-discharge functions... I think you lose one LED line if you implement pre-discharge... For BMS chips that don't have a pre-discharge function you can implement one with either a commercial surge suppressor IC (usually NFET based) or roll your own with a big PFET and an RC filter to slowly turn the gate on when it gets power.

The video and audio quality was spot-on, so no worries mate! The Delta Pro is nice but expensive. One can build their own with those chineseium LIFEPO4 cells and an inverter, charge controller, and BMS purchased separately for a third the price. A few videos of your builds would be very interesting (hint, hint, hint).
There is flicker from the garage light when I was inside, but yeah the audio with the lapel mic is great.
The added fire insurance to cover your chinese lash up MAY be cost effective!
@@NeverTalkToCops1 EcoFlow is crap. I bought one of their batteries a couple years ago and it stopped working after a few months.
If it's gonna stay at home why use lipo at all? A lead acid battery is less likely to start a fire and less likely to be damaged if you discharge it too much at the same capacity, while being a lot cheaper. Of course, if weight matters then that doesn't make sense, but if you're using it as a solar/battery storage/inverter setup that won't really leave the home, why not just use car batteries?
@@cavemancamping Sounds like you need a preconfigured setup and you don't mind paying the premium... There are many CZcamsrs showing prismatic cell builds that are much more cost effective.
Thanks for taking the time to perform this tear down. Design and build looks excellent. On the other hand the value is aimed at those who are incapable of building their own. I would be more than happy to use one of these if given to me but until that time I'll stick to DIY and save >$2k. Cheers
Actually nice to see something designed like it might actually be used in harsher environments.
Damn near everything nowadays seems to be designed to only operate in a clean room.
Just a little thought into things like dealing with vibration/shock and slight damp conditions would do a lot of good for most anything. Of course, for all I know designing things to be as exposed to the elements as much as possible might be in intentional.
With the price it is at - it better!

Anyone watching, notice when Dave is putting the self tappers back on the battery cover that he is initially turning the screwdriver backwards. This helps to find the existing thread and allow the screw to go back in without cross threading. Also works on any other threaded connections. It's a great trick to avoid cross threading things. Once it finds the thread the screw will drop down. You can feel it and then you know it's time to screw it in.

Hey Dave, as someone who works in PCB assembly, I've dealt with quite a few different flavours of conformal coat. Basically all of them will glow under UV light to aid in inspection during production. Give it a try with the shop lights out! Spooky!
Additionally, flux remover will often dissolve the coating. The stuff we use is mostly acetone according to the MSDS, which makes sense

@@iamdarkyoshi thanks, good to know! Just a hobbyist, I’ve been using mostly isopropyl alcohol to clean flux residue out of fear a stronger solvent like acetone might attack unwanted things but I’ll give it a go next time 🙂

Thanks for your excellent and detailed teardown of the EcoFlow Delta Pro. I had a problem on my solar generator and the solar input plug broke off inside of the device while I was out in the boondocks. I had no idea on how to open this up and repair the problem. Thanks to this video I was able to open it up and repair the plug without sending it to the 'service center'. You are right that those spade plugs are very loose; good to tighten them up a bit.
This seems to be a common issue unfortunately, maybe use a pigtail on that connector, to reduce wear on it
I always knew Batteroo were right, It is now confirmed Dave really has sold out to Big battery.
He could have a Batteroo Management System running off discarded AA's for a fraction of the cost.

Like many peoples I did the research and buy in April 2022 my first units , yes it work nice and easy . in August 2022 I buy 1 more and a Dual Hub so I can run pool pump (220v 1 Hp for 5 hrs. a day sometime at day I use it to charge my Prius Prime too ) Using 3 group of 3 solar panels ( 356 W/ 37V ) to charge my units , because location of my house I get max input 1670W from solar panels .
I bough new on eBay from Ecoflow Direct ( $3600/unit ) It run for 2 weeks and error code 554 pop up NO POWE ROUT PUT . I work out with EcoFlow support ( photo + video's + Reset + update etc. ) they don't know the problem so they sent me new Dual Hub to test out and yes old Dual Hub is damage and 1 Delta Pro don't provide power out put at Infinity port . Ecoflow offer to repair but not replace for a unit that last only 2 weeks .
I think this system is for back up only not reliable for off grid . I look back reply time from EF it's China office time not US time !
I had the solar plug input push in and the screws fall in. I had been aware of this problem and I believed I was taking extra care.
Opened it up via your video. Saw how poorly the plug was mounted. Not saying I repaired it correctly but needed to be able to use solar.
Ok. So I drilled the opening so the plug assembly is now external. Used duct tape to keep dust from falling in while I was drilling. Ok. Put back together. Plug solar in and it’s charging.

Looks nice, but I just stumbled over that there is a recall for the EcoFlow RIVER 600 MAX (a much smaller model) in the EU because of quote: "The electrical insulation as well as the clearance /creepage distances between the primary and accessible secondary circuits are not sufficient. In addition, the input protective earth is not connected to output protective earth, hence continuity of protective earth does not occur. The user could receive an electric shock from accessible (live) parts.
The product does not comply with the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive nor with the European standards EN 62040-1, EN 60950-1, and EN 62368-1." Checkout European Safety Gate Alert: A12/01291/22. I don't know if Dave's unit has the same problem but if some of EcoFlow's products don't meet safety standards some caution with this one is probably advisable? It would be great if Dave could investigate clearance/creepage distances on his unit.
Well, input earth and output earth appear to connect with Delta Pro, at least! EN62040-1 looks like a UPS standard (don't use this product as a UPS even though the manufacturer claims you kind of can). EN60950-1 appears to have been replaced by EN62368-1 (which the certificate of conformity on the Delta Pro claims to meet).

"Wasted space" on the sides is likely protection, a nice gap between outer wall and batteries for when someone inevitably smacks it, possibly even required with some home battery standard.

Nice. I switched to cut resistant gloves after a heavy cut from a computer case. Never tear something apart without them. It also helps a little against that stupid burns you get if you solder in tight spaces. ;)
the wifi module looks like an esp 32 which is also bluetooth capable, so idk why the bms has a bluetooth module...

Do Australians find counting to 15 to be a difficult task? It's pretty easy to tell how many cells are in this thing even without counting the balance leads. There are 15 "51RO" resisters in the balancing circuit and the component places are even numbered on the board ("NB1-NB15"). So I think it's a pretty safe bet to say there are 15 cells in the pack. Lol
I hate spade lug connectors! They are never tight, and they like to loosen on their own, get hot and fail.
There are some good ones out there, but still they are spade lugs!

Thanks. I had bought a refurbished one, and the XT60 port was loose, and got pushed in, that panel is the weakest link in the system. It was a easy fix thanks to this tear down. I’m not engineer or a electrician, definitely drain battery, and wear rubber gloves and shoes.

Personally I'm looking at getting something similar to one of these. Probably not as big but beefy enough to power a larger power tool. I do think they'll become more commonplace over time.
And (hopefully) less expensive. Although, all things considered, it is worth it. That is a lot of power that you can take with you to somewhere remote and off grid. If you are retired and have SS and a pension, albeit small, you could squat somewhere remote, out west (US) and live off grid. A camper, a tent....
That Anderson connector is a fail.
Not orientated in any way that one could plug in a typically configured Anderson plug.

@@EEVblog The correct orientation for the 12V 30A Anderson Powerpole is red on right, tongue on top. This would require an adapter cable to plug anything into it that uses the standard orientation.
You should check out Grid Point Designs. They were at the RV and Van Expo in Portland last weekend, and Ecoflow decided to not even show up! You would be pleasantly surprised tearing down a Grid Point Enclosure! :)

There’s a certain modern BMW that has a problem with a drain easily clogged and floods the ecu but every one I worked on I clear coated the whole board with urethane clear coat. That saved severale ecu’s because we always check the drain anytime one was in the shop. Reason for urethane was because we also did body work and that’s the clear we used.
I'd be more critical of the build quality of the BMS board. Check at 28:00. You commented on the very ropy soldering and burnt flux residue around SW2, but U1 is a bit how's-your-father too. It looks like it has also been replaced by hand and the conformal coating does not cover the important bit, the connection pads, which show evidence of decidedly ropy soldering. Wouldn't have passed my inspection!
That is a typical [cheap] replacement if a part has an issue during QC. They should have replaced the whole board, but oftentimes---especially for just a switch---it will be done by hand (it does look like they had some issues). I have encountered hand replaced parts many times.
I have a Delta Pro, and love it.
It's not a real job until blood is shed. 🤣 Looks like a really nice unit. I love how they put some thought in the aesthetics of the interior as well (like the snazzy font for the "Battery Management System" text, which will never see the light of day). Expensive, but reliable power comes at a cost. Also, thumbs up for the garage take. There was nothing I saw or heard that really distracted from the content of the video. 👍

I'm not real impressed with the thermal management on the main converter board. I suppose it could be the camera angle, but it looks as if a few of the large heatsinks don't get much air. Meh...maybe that's why you noticed louder than expected fan activity.
There is indeed a lot of dead air space for about two-thirds of the effective surface area on the two large central heat sinks. I’m sure there is some circulation that will reach them after the incoming air bounces off the far side and is reflected, but they could certainly have done far better had they actually managed the path that the airflow would take in exiting the pack such that it reached all the heat sinks equally. They could have gotten away with smaller heat sinks as well in that case, but hopefully these have been oversized and temperature monitored to compensate for the inefficiency.

i was wondering about the stated 230V AC / 15Amps power input even before seeing that wiggly connection on the back.
The standard cable plugs for that sort of connectors are rated at 10Amps only - at least for the standard ones i have seen...
and thats without that bad connection on the back. plug should be:
VDE 0625, EN 60 320, C14 = port with male pins // C13 = plug with female contacts
All i have seen are rated up to 250V AC 10Amps (perhaps you get higher drop/heatload if soldered, but they clearly are not)
EDIT !! You can actually see that it says rated for 10A 250V at the back !!! @12:36 !
I was incredibly skeptical of this thing since it was review bombed by tons of CZcamsrs that have nothing to do with electronics. My BS meter was going off the charts with what it claimed.
I haven't tested it much yet, have found a IMO major issue with the default AC output though. But the build quality and factory tour look first rate.

@@Firecul In EU the order of the live and neutral is only recomanded not required, since in different countries it was different. So, for instance, remotely control socket do have it reversed, so, as I found out experimentally, it is switching off the neutral.
You are abolutely right cause the core value lays in the quality of the cells which they are hiding like all the other bluettie power oak crap just to make the most money out of your payment cause they can change weekly which supplier of cells is the cheapest right now.
And it is the hardest to check cause that is hidden in that cage .
You will not get any support by them nor replacement they will simply ignore you once it is older than 1 year . We had lost 90% in 15 months with a dead bluetti cause we could only sell it as spare parts and dead.
If you are really into that aks them for the type and brand of the cells - they will not tell you.
But nowadays you can check the cell cause the chinese government had enough with the chinese manufacturer and forced them to produce battery cells with a laser engraved qr code that we can decode to avoid scam.
You need to know the quality of these cells - or you are screwed.
Check the channel off-grid garage who had bought a SEPLOS MASON 6.9 diy kit which is a rack battery with all parts needed, just 2 hours and you have such battery, but: the cells delivered where no name and the qr code showed that they had been already 3 years old and that the terminals were spot welded so that a previous usage could have been possible - cause which company puts a battery for 3 years on its shelf to sell it old and with lower capacity than advertised.
This battery kit was about 2500€ and I bet you would call it scam to get battery cells underperforming and already 3 years old.
So be sceptical with all these bluetti poweroak ecoflow and whatever crap that do not tell you about their cells every tiny detail like brand, type, chemistry, cpec sheet. EVE cells for example come along with a 11 page long spec sheet and these cells do deliver, other do not.
@@urbiso Three-pin plugs have N/L marks inside, so no, the order IS a thing. Some devices still have neutral to chassis, I'd never swap L and N. Switch on the neutral is what I learnt a few decades ago and I've always stuck to it - I'm actually surprised that remote sockets have it reversed.

Thanks for great video! Why nobody ever talks about charging current and battery degradation? When they say 3000 cycles and 80%, what charging and discharging conditions were there? And what is the optimal charge current for this unit, I guess if you charge it 3000 times with max speed, its not going to hold 80%
Nice product, but WAY TOO expensive. For the same cost you can get a caravan fully set up with bigger batteries etc including solar.
We looked at getting two of these as a replacement for our home backup generator. The generator is a 4 KW 240V 50Hz unit. However, the cost of the EcoFlow Delta Pro 3.6kWh units is so costly in the UK that it would be cheaper to just go replace the 4KW 240V generator with a brand new one, especially now that UK electricity processes per kWh have gone up through the roof. I'm not sure what the cost of 1 Imp Gal of Petrol that runs the generator on full load for about 2.5 hours (very approx) vs the cost of two full charges of two EcoFlow Delta Pro 3.6kWh. I suspect with UK electricity costs that the generator will be cheaper overall with the generator costing less than half that of just one of the EcoFlow Delta Pro 3.6kWh to buy.
The EcoFlow Delta Pro 3.6kWh is VERY nice, I can not deny that, but they cost just too much to buy in the UK at 3500 Pounds Sterling or 5930 Dollars Australian for just the EcoFlow Delta Pro 3.6kWh on its own, no extras. 8-(

When I was maybe 13, my grandfather and I were chatting. 3.6kwh, he says, "3.6kwh means you can draw one kilowatt for 3.6 hours," and I said, "or 3.6 kilowatts for one hour, right?" And he looked so dumfounded. He says, "well yes. Yes, I guess it would.." that was one of the only times I really felt proud for stumping my gramps. He had never thought about it that way. Now, I assume thats true for full draw of the power cell. But, BUT! you must consider the circuitry between the cell and the output. That, i am willing to bet, will not stand for 3.6kw for one hour. Interesting topic.

Did you show how the PV input connector is attached? I've heard about some getting pushed loose with repeated use.
I bought both a Bluetti AC200MAX & a Bluetti AC200P this year to power my RV off grid. This looks like a great solution as well, although I need more solar input for my needs. Keep up the great videos my friend 👍
Our Bluetti broke after 1 year back in 2020 or 2021 : no waranty, no service no feed back
Same use case in a motorhome as additional battery rarely used cause the motorhome had alreay 2x 80 Ah batteries (12V)
These are not made for daily use, the battery cells inside are crap, cheap chinese crap and they change their battery cell supplier every week or so cause they could not even tell us which one they had used.
If you rarely use it it might last longer, but not very long and you will not get any service nor help. We ended up selling it as dead for spare part use. 90% of the value was lost.
Bluetti and power oak are selling crap, not even matching the power they promise internally. If they promise to deliver 1000 W constant for example check the cable AWG if they are the right ones for 1000W
Ours were far too small for their constant rating back then and a lot of other youtubers here who do honest reviews and not selling bluetti or poweroak discount codes to make money from you had checked the cable diameters meanwhile and said that they are too small and that they had used LiIon cells which can burn like hell. We had those LiIon and were not aware of that and had not wanted those if we had known about the risks especially in a motorhome.
I suggest to sell this regardless what you loose cause next week you could have lost far more than we who had lost 90% in 15 months of its value, but if it would have burned while we are visiting a castle or during night the damage would be multiple times higher and Bluetti will not pay anything, they even would not react and Amazon could even not help us cause it was over 1 year old.
@@typxxilps Sounds like a really bad experience for you. Thankfully for me I have redundancies that cover me from multiple directions. For the AC200MAX I bought an extended warranty through Allstate & also have additional coverage on top through my credit card that adds a year to my warranty. So lucky for me I won't be losing money either way, but I went in knowing that anything with an inverter could leak the magic smoke any of time. I wonder if you did the Kickstarter thing & had the first AC200. They did send those out with li-ion and I heard a bunch of people having issues with those. Mine are definitely the LiFePO4 due to their extreme weight. As for cables I remember people having issues as well because they were using 14 & 16 guage extension cables with their units, but it almost sounds like you are talking about the guage of wire being too thin internally (is that right?). As for my cables externally I go overboard and only use 10 guage extension cords. I've got another CZcams channel called "Let's make it bacon" and I'll be documenting my entire journey over the next couple years there. So if they do fail the world will definitely know about it. Plus I paid for them myself vs having them given to me like most of the CZcamsrs you talked about. So I'll have absolutely no issue calling them out if things go wrong. If what you say is reality then there isn't a chance they will last even a year. I'll be running them to their specified limits on a daily basis both in charging and discharge. The 2 units will run 2 Toshiba portable inverter ac units & also the units have heat pumps I'll be running during the winter. They will heat my water using a Bosch es8 electric water heater, cook using an instant-pot & provide additional heat with a 1500 watt oil space heater in the coldest parts of the winter. That in addition to charging my phone, laptop, and big screen. So for discharging they are going to be run super hard. As for charging the ac200p will be charged with 1100 watts of solar anytime the sunshines (over paneled). And the ac200max will be charged with 1400 watts of solar (over paneled). So I'm guessing that I'll be running these two units harder than the vast majority of folks. The only people I know that may run them harder (and may also have something to do with units dieing early) is those who try to run their roof top ac unit on them. Those roof ac units are known to trip breakers like crazy even running on ac because of their power spikes, so I wouldn't doubt they would fry battery units from anybody and everybody. That's one of the major reasons I'm using the inverter ac unit vs rooftop. Because if I was running roof top I know Id fry anything I would buy on the market. I'll be moving into the RV full time within the next 2-3 weeks so I'll really know if they can handle the workload when that happens. I very much appreciate you sharing your experience with us. I hope that I don't end up running into the same things you have, but that's definitely why I have the redundancies in place to cover me in case that happens. Paying almost 2k for something just to be dead in a year would bitter my coffee as well. I guess these days I expect every company to cut corners, so I prepare for that by having extended coverage on top of extended coverage. I've been burned too many times not too. Did you see any hint on MPPT input tolerance? Does it accept more voltage or is it safe to put on paralell modules with higher current?
BATTERY quality is the real king you need to know very well
which you will learn fast, once your battery has died and you see the 8000€ bill for a replacement one in an e-GOLF from 2018 with less than 100 000 km
At the end you invest a huge amount of money into the uncovered (as most youtubers are not risking to get there into the darkside of battery),
the LiFePo4 cells of unknown brand and quality which will be key for the value you get.
Just to put into persepective: you will be screwed if these cells break or suffer or do not or no longer deliver cause the manufacturer does not care
The e-GOLF had been under battery warranty but you would never have thought that an e-GOLF battery would die that soon and over night. You can not ride anymore, the dealer does not know anything, VW technicians will have to check things and than it takes another age or week to get a spare.
AGAIN: in the home country of VW just 200 km away of their HQ, not in any third world country but at the end after 2,5 weeks it is running again an nothing to pay
but of cause: only for those cars who had always been in the VW dealers maintenance, not a cheap garage. But luckily VW maintenance is quite cheap for an e-GOLF with more or less 150€ per year by average.
I hope that one fine day someone will spend his dead unit to a full tear down of the battery pack cause there is where your money is going into or not, this determines the amount of kWh you might be able to get back from your solar powered device. They tell you that they will be able to get 6500 cycles x 3,6 kWh or roughly 23.000 kWh out of that battery which equals about 18 years of daily use by 1 full cycle.
It would be nice to see the genuine QR code to get behind the chinese myth in which week these cells have been made and by whom.
They do not mention the manufacturer of the cells the point , where the money should go to last. And the have a really high claim with 6500 cycles which is an awfull lot only a few cell manufacturer do talk about, only the more famous chinese top 10 brands like EVE. Eve mentions for the LF280K (280 Ah , but the K is the key for the cycles cause only this K version is delivering 6000 cycles at 0,5 C rating or 140A discharge).
The quality of the cell is the still complete unknown dark spot , so a questionable product considering you might invest some thousand € and 66% of the value can go into that pack where you have right now no clue at all what you are getting, no brand mentioned.
The cells are not just 1 part among many others of similiar value, they are the most expensive parts of the whole product and not known for being replace able or covered by an 8 year long lasting warranty . So be aware how badly you suffer if things go wrong with a brand that is pushing hard on youtube but not willing to tell you the cell manufacturer or not willing to tell you if they had bought cheap crap cells for you that go crazy in 5 years and they will not care or will they replace such heavy battery pack and cells where shipping alone will be a fortune: our 8 kWh cells from EVE (16S or 51Volt) came about 1300€ and about 300€ was shipping, so 1000€ for cells alone
Imagine they would get the cheapest, used cells from chinas alibaba dealers and put those 2 year old into your delta ecoflow which you would not see nor recognice until you would do a full tear down of the battery cage to check the valve seals and the QR production code?
We have seen that before even in sunny australia if you check out the channel off-grid garaga and the SEPLOS MASON 6.9 battery he had gotten as a diy kit with everyhting in the box, bms, case, display, screws, nuts and cells.
And it was a scam: the cells delivered in this kit which arrived in june 2022 showed a qr code which said: produced 2019 in some obscure chinese factory
A 2500€ diy kit with old outdated cells produced 3 years ago not getting close to the promised capacity or better 5% lost is not want anyone wants.
SEPLOS is famous for its BMS which is capable to talk different CAN BUS dialects for about 15 inverter brands but in their DIY rack build battery business they are scamming you cause they claim to ship you a brand new one, not a 3 year old one they could get for cheap on the chinese market and replace the brand the next batch from october on with yzx instead of xyz.
Be carefull to invest your money in such a product with this bad attitude to not letting you know the brand of the battery cells nor modell numbers cause they have something to hide. VW spare battery (means they get the old for a new) were quite cheap considering that 8000€ included the full exchange which is a 31 kWh battery to put things into perspective if you check the eco flow price cause the eco flow battery capacity is roughly 9% of that VW battery or 1000€.
You will learn the hard way what a crap such product can be if you have no manufacturer or warranty service close to you cause if you have to ship this battery to some place anywhere in europe your first fortune will be gone.

in my unit, the solar connector TOP screw popped off and fell down into the unit, as solar is connected and disconnected and connected, it is a very WEAK part of this unit. I see how to open the top, pulling the rubber ring off to access the screws. Not sure how to fix yet. Super glue?

Hello, mate. Could you, please, explain something to me. I noticed that when the Delta Pro is connected to the mains you can easily find the Line and the Neutral in the AC sockets. But when the station is using its battery for electricity supply, there are two Lines and no Neutral in the sockets. How is that possible?

Awesome video, I really appreciate it. I have a question that hopefully somebody sees and can give some advice. So, I bought a delta pro used off of ebay but first thing I did was plug it in to too many solar panels in parallel, so it overloaded the DC charge circuit and now nothing lights up and it makes no noise when I push buttons. When it died, it made a pop noise and all the screens shut off, and I know for sure that the screens were working before and I had turned on the inverter previously to see if it worked. Do any of you know what might have died in my ecoflow? I'm thinking one of the fuses, maybe on the BMS or the mppt controller? Its weird though that holding the on button down does nothing at all. I thought these things had some sort of over current protection and would give an error or something instead of totally dying. If it Helps, I plugged in 4 100w 18v solar panels in parallel, thinking they were old and not outputting much. I'm willing to take the whole thing apart like you did and try to replace an obviously broken component, it would just be helpful if someone could point me in a direction to see what part I should investigate. $2000 is a lot of money to burn from just plugging something in wrong. Thanks so much to anyone that replies.

I want to use Anderson port on my pro to add dc power to my rv by tying this into my dc box. I don’t want to remove my current batteries. Would that be a problem with back feeding the delta pro with my rv batteries?

Looks great, but that's about $2500~3300 investment there. You can get RV batteries and an inverter for a whole lot less than that. I get that you also get the solar controller, but you can also get/make one of those as well.
My old omnicharge (god I miss it) had a HVDC output. It was a 300VDC output, I guess skipping the inverter stage, which could be used for switch mode supplies, as they’re happily fed from DC it seems. I think usb-c would take care of that for many things nowadays though.

A great and helpful video ! I've had this solar generator for almost 2 years now and I'm very happy with it EXCEPT that it's cooling fans are ridiculously unbearably LOUD ! It's got 5 stages:
stage0: 0-120W solar input (with zero output) silent,
stage1: 120-400W solar input - noticable, low rpm,
stage2: 400-600W solar input - medium rpm - this should be the maximum noise lvl,
stage3: 600-900W solar input - high rpm - annoyingly loud like a crowded street
stage4: 900-1600W solar input - all 4 fans at maximum rpm (and/or 2000W+ output) - amazingly loud like a jet airliner !!!
This is REGARDLESS of its temperature ! No matter how cold the inlet is. I've tried it outside in +5C in winter and the fans still run at max at 900W solar input and zero ouput. WHY !? The inlet temp NEVER gets above 30C why are fans running at max ?
I've written to the c.support several times, no real answers, just promises to be fixed later OTA. Many firmware updates have passed and still no change. Imo the fans shouldn't even kick in below 40-45C (100F). But they run at max regardless of the inlet temp.
Any idea how to solve this problem ? Often the whole house is running on this for several hours (combined with Ecoflow's smart home panel) and it's doing great except that we barely hear each other talking because of the fans. :)

I agree completely. When he opened that cover door and I saw the wonky orientation... *groan*. When he opened up the case, though, it kind of looked like you could extract those PP connectors and reorient them into the proper (hi hi) red-right-tongue-top orientation. I sure would because I can't say I've ever seen an orientation like that for 12V DC.

Nice unit. The only drawback, it is not weatherproof, so can't be left outside under rain or snow or elements, that limits its use for camping and outdoors. The next version should have a protective casing around it
Watch the beginning for how much casino he initially removed and all the covers protecting individual plugs. The zoom forward to how must of the electronics are covered in a waterproof conformal coating. I strongly suspect this was built and designed to handle rain, but not submersion in flooding.
