  • Pediatric feeding disorders are conditions in which a child avoids eating or limits what he or she will eat. This inadequate intake can lead to negative health outcomes, limit the child’s ability to engage in normal social activities and increase stress within the home environment. Tiffany Star Skillern-M.A, CCC-SLP is a board certified, state licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with an ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence. She received a combined B.S and M.A in Speech-Language Pathology from Kent State University in 2006. Tiffany also received additional training in Food Chaining and the Sequential Oral Sensory Approach to Feeding, which are feeding approaches designed to help children safely tolerate various textures and tastes of food to promote age-appropriate nutrition and development.
During her 15-year professional career, Tiffany has had the opportunity to work with a variety of populations and disorders. She has gained a wealth of experience working as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a variety of settings including early intervention, schools, homes, nursing facilities, Acute Care Hospitals, and Assisted Living. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Parenting is a hectic task, every stage of it is interestingly challenging. I've learnt much of it within my few years of experience.
