Aaaah my violin should arrive next week, so I hope. I can't wait to take your lessons.

I'm 36 and I love learning. Never played an instrument before, so I decided to go big and grab the Fantom EX 8 (Probably not the wisest choice). I can't tell you how mad I would have been if I didn't even play it a lot after spending all of that money. Fortunately, I put in dozens of hours over the past couple of weeks. Before that, I didn't know how to play the piano and picked up Playground Sessions last year and did a few lessons on the old piano. I was really frustrated with how long each video was that I had to watch on my tablet, when all I wanted to do is learn how to play. I've since bit the bullet and purchased Skoove and made a lot of progress. I had the app for 2 weeks and I can play with both hands, play chords, and accidentals, though, at 60% of the song's original tempo for the more complicated pieces with quarter notes and etc. I think within 6 months, I should be at 100% tempo. And yeah, they teach you with sheet music, so that would allow me to play Christmas music come the holidays, if I can get my tempo up.
So why am I at your channel? Well, it appears that playing acoustic instruments on the keyboard is my thing. However, you can't play the guitar or a violin like a piano player. You have to understand the chord limitations. I even looked at the saxophone on there too and just found out a couple of weeks ago that the saxophone is a single-note instrument. As a piano player, who has to read 2 clefs, I almost went straight to Amazon to pick up that instrument (thinking that I can have a mastered instrument under my belt in a couple of weeks), but I was told that while reading the sheet music is easy, the saxophone is hard to blow.
So, that kind of get me back around to the violin. I think most instruments are difficult in different ways. The piano has very difficult sheet music. The violin is hard to sound good with initially. And then the saxophone is hard to blow. I do feel like some violinists hurt the industry at times by joking about how bad someone would sound still after playing for 10 years. From what I read, you can sound decent with a violin in as little as a month. I think most people can work with that.
Lastly, I love the articulations of the violin. However, being on the keyboard, I thought I was a bit limited. However, I got smart and I located a violin .midi file from the internet and loaded it on my piano and I was impressed. They did the tremolo and even a ricochet, though I don't think the original artist meant to do a ricochet. Too many notes were played at a given time (for the ricochet), so it sounded pretty harsh on the ears. Even though the articulations were pretty good, I'm not the biggest fan of the timbre options that my keyboard provides. I'm kind of leaning toward buying Chris Hein's stuff:
    chrishein.net/solo-violin.html
I believe it sounds well. I also have a recording of my piano playing that midi file if you care to hear how that sounds.
I look forward to watching your videos. You have a lot of subscribers, but it appears that CZcams isn't giving you the views you deserve. I think you might do well to watch TwoSetViolin and Ray Chen channels to see how they are grabbing a ton of views. I'm not sure if that's in your personality though. They are very talented violinists that rarely play the violin these days (well, on CZcams, I think do perform live in front of an audience at times still). Odd, right? They do reaction videos and etc and they get millions of views a year. You can also be like violinist Taylor Davis and play the violin for millions of views. I think unfortunately, because of the terrible reputation of the violin being impossible to learn, fewer and fewer people are interested in learning, making education only channels not as profitable to run as they once were.

As a huge fan from India who is currently stuck in lesson 29. I want to know why my violin emits squeaky noises instead of sharp strong noises and the bow slips of the strings without any grip. Am I not rosining the bow enough or is it too much? There is also the formation of a rosin layer on the strings that I have to wipe out after every 2 or 3 minutes of playing. Please guide me Alison.
