- On todays episode we installed an Ekstensive step notch kit in a 04-06 silverado crew cab that’s lowered 8 inches in the rear….he was experiencing some bottoming out issues so we remedied that problem. Get with us for any installs you need. The notch used in this episode can be found here…

Brandon has been dropping my trucks for years! Hands down best of the best 😎
Awesome job man. Just subscribed to your channel from los ch1kos
Y’all do some good content wish yall were closer to Texas 🤙🏽 keep up the good work
Hell yeah man ready to get my truck in
Nice job brother!!! Just subbed 😊🤙🏻
thats good youre teaching the younger kids 🤣 gotta have fun with them. we all been there lol
Nice work
Can you stick weld the step notch to the frame?
Hey man love the truck I have a monster notch on my 2006 Silverado crew cab and was wondering what u do to cover the hole they cut the wheel walls out too
I build wheeltubs….i have a video on that also…and we build a notch cover out of sheetmetal….there are several companies that sell kits for this…check out Reklez
Looks good man and I like watching your videos and telling us what your doing and why also have you ever done the firewall on an obs.
I have tubbed a couple for tire clearance…never replaced the whole thing tho
Will that notch work for a 16 silverado ?? Im Planning on getting one for mine?
Tune in
Did those filler plates have slight gaps on the sides? It's OK if I weld those gaps up? Like will it be strong enough or should I make wider filler plates ? I'm about to do mine but those gaps on the filler plates have me worried.
I made new ones for sides that was longer
Do you think I can weld my step notch with a Harbor Freight 125 flex welder?
I wouldn’t recommend it but I’m sure its possible
I got a question I got a underbed c notch from reklez and i was wondering if I could a put a monster c notch on top of the underbed c notch ?
You would need to remove the Reklez notch first…brace the frame so it can’t sag….cut all the welds loose and start beating with hammer…it’s a pain but can be done
Exhaust work ?
Is it easy to do?
Nice
What’s the dimensions you used to cut out the whole in the bed? Looks super clean
Sorry I thought you was commenting on a different video….I just measured it 1/2 bigger than notch and cut it
@@lowerclassfab431 did you measure it from the top of the notch or the bottom
From the bottom of the notch….measured from the bed bolt holes in frame to notch….then stood the bed up and transferred those measurements….subtracting 1/2 inch for clearance
Can you use any lower shock mounts since it has upper ones
yes I suppose so and you can put the upper mounts anywhere you want if you change the lowers
So with this kit in the description I don’t need to buy a shock relocation ? Or it’s already welded on
The shock tabs are welded on to work with Ekstensive’s 2 link kit….you can cut them off and reweld them like we did but your shocks will NOT bolt up how they come out of the box
hey man how’s you clear the emergency brake line so it wouldn’t rub on the notch
Just zipties….get it close to axle
Aye man do you know what drop shocks do I need if I get that EKSTENSIVE step notch ?Like would a 6inch drop shock do the job or what do you think?
If it’s a 99-13 I’d say the Nitro drop 2 part number 8510
@@lowerclassfab431 thx for the reply but I have a 2002 Ford-150 and I’m struggling to find the right shocks for it
is the paint for it not to rust? i took mine to get welded with the same notch but they didn’t paint it . should i paint it ? and if so what paint do u use?
Yes paint it…we just use rustolium
I jst ordered a step notch off ekstensive with their 3/16 metal how do you like there brand ? Ever gave you any problems ?
It’s very simple and straightforward to install….you won’t have any issues with it
Clean good work. Where are y'all located I noticed the 912 area code on your shirt. I'm in Hinesville GA and would like to come get some work done on my 05 step side. What's a good contact number for you guys?
I’m in Baxley Ga….912-278-0636
What size are the front and rear tires?
I believe they were 275/45-20
You recommend reklez over ekstensive?
On notches they are equal…on link setups I like the Reklez kit over the 2 link
We're can I get that
A link is in the description of this video
why do they get so much hate? for there parts
Why would you lower a pickup truck.
Looks better , handles better, easier to get in and out of,m….personal preference just like lifting a truck that never leaves the pavement
@@lowerclassfab431 to each their own, I guess you don't haul anything, I like being different I leave my stock.
@@lowerclassfab431 watch the speed bumps
@@mocheeks709 actually I haul with several of my trucks….if you look thru this CZcams channel you will see my Bagged and body dropped dually pulling one of my other trucks…I’ve also run coast to coast commercially for years in a slammed chevy Duramax dually pulling a wedge trailer loaded down….lowered doesn’t mean useless
Why does ekstensive get hate?
Pimp mayne
That’s just dumb it’s a truck, well it was.
Well I guess that’s EZ-4-U-2-Say🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
And 🤣 truck still looking hard those days than your whip lmk
@@albertquintero5412 my 02 z71 looks a lot better than your typing skills 🤷♂️
