In fact He and my Son are always handing me items "can you use this for something" I accept it with grace and use it if I can. I'm a "Lucky" wife...just celebrated 53years of marriage March 6th. Glossy Accents works nicely as glue for cellophane & it dries clear & glossy =). I've even used it to repair the side seams when they give up. I had an idea to do a journal full of transparent pages, years ago.. my cat kinda stole it. She seemed to thoroughly enjoy laying on top of the crinkle & making noise.

I also use them to make thread clusters on art cards. Re-use, Reduce, recycle. I've been using those bags for storing stuff, but now, thanks to you, Natasha, I have new ways to recycle them! Thanks!

I love all of these - thank you! I can’t remember where I saw the original idea, but sometimes I take extra threads and tiny fabric scraps and put them between clear embroidery stabilizer that later dissolves in water. Then I sew all over it very close together to catch all the bits, then wash it to remove the stabilizer. It makes a very cool textural piece of fabric.

I’m literally sitting here laughing out loud at your description of the threads/hair!!! I feel the same way exactly…we spend all this time fixing our hair, but see one single hair on the table or sink and the gag reflex kicks in!🤣 So, so true!
Now, about your projects…I love all (except the hair/threads) and will be making most of them. You don’t have to doubt why you do a thing or everything has to have a purpose. Some things can just be pretty and that’s all they need to be. Those little things that you can’t write on can still be added to a journal just like ephemera of any kind. This is a great video Natasha! Do you think cereal box liners would have the same effect? I have a LOT of those.

Hope you get to make pretty little things that bring you some joy.
I’m starting to think of ways to gift people things like paper pockets i’ve made. One friend puts a pocket in her Bible study workbook to hold index cards with verses. I glue pockets onto my composition book to hold receipts, etc.
For Valentine’s Day, I gave each friend a pocket holding a tea bag and handmade mini Valentine i made out of inexpensive blank place cards.
      Creators definitely brighten our days!
Blessings to you for plenty of joy! 🎉

Absolutely love this, Natasha! I am a great one for saying, "Can I make art out of this?" to which my hubby usually replies with a resounding "NO!" which I take as a challenge to prove him wrong! One of the things I love the most about this project is the gorgeous tactile rustling they make! I'm a texture junkie and think these are gorgeous. I particularly like that fabulous ribbon you showed at the beginning - never seen any like that before. I have a lot of scraps of trimmings and ribbons, and masses of sequins I thought I'd probably never use, and like you I save all my thread offcuts. Nice to have new ideas for using up all this stuff and making something beautiful in the process. I love your creativity!

I make all of my gift cards, birthday and Christmas for my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. My mind is running away with me on ideas. I am going to use this idea with something like a Christmas tree with sequins tucked inside and sewn on to the front of their Christmas card. Down that you got to the thread part that gave me the idea of talking in excess pieces of gold string with my Christmas tree.

I’m thinking the pocket would be cute in a birthday card with money in it as a gift. Or in a card with a personal hand written letter to the person. 👍
Off topic- as an adopted Aussie. I love listening to the evolution of your accent. I know your Australian sense of humour has reached nirvana. Haha Never taking anything as an offence. Sarcasm makes us bullet proof.
I’m so impressed that you have evolved to putting 2 syllables in the word ‘here (here-ya) haha
The threads? Maybe an animal themed something. Fur? It’s not disgusting. As you often say ‘it’s only limited by your imagination!’

I love that you included how you ended up with a lot of plastic packaging! Thank you for adding that. It's true that we should ask, "why". Too much packaging, but at least us creatives use it for beautiful and useful things! I laughed at the hair comment afterward. Oh, when you showed the attempt at making a butterfly shape I thought about how they could be hot glued to a hair clip. My six year old made a cute hair clip with some packaging material. She cut a hole in the center, squeezed the center parts together and said it looked like a butterfly and that it should be hot glued together in the center and then onto a hair clip. So I did the hot gluing, and she thought of that cute hair clip!

YOU GIVE ME SUCH GREAT IDEAS! I can't wait to get to my stash and start crafting. IDEA: when you showed the square filled with batting there was a pocket you said had no purpose BUT what if you make deep pockets, turn it upside down and slide it over something like thick cardstock that you have attached (just the bottom half) to a journal page to "hang" the square in the book yet you can lift/slide it off when you want to play with it.😊

I love this! I have been saving (ok, HOARDING-let’s get real 🤣) these plastic bags, trying to figure out more ways to use them . Great ideas, will have to re-learn how to use my sewing machine. I also save thread bits, they come in handy for adding texture with handmade paper or “faux mulberry paper” projects. Regarding the hair….your comment is so true, we freak out as soon as a hair is no longer attached to our heads, lol. But Victorian women created all kinds of things using hair-from embroidery with hair to stuffing pin cushions. I even found an interesting jar at a thrift store and discovered it was a “hair receiver.” Yikes! 😂. Fun video, I love your humor and lots of creative ideas. Thanks for sharing, take care! ❤❤

I am so happy to see you saving thread snips. I have been saving threads from sewing projects and have a whole bag full. Someday I hope to use them.
