Facts. Most adults have learned from their mistakes. Unfortunately, kids don't listen to adults, and the cycle is never broken. If kids would just listen to our screw ups and not make those same mistakes, this young man might not be in this situation today. Maybe kids will learn from this kids mistake. I don't know about you, but when I see bad things happen to people, I try to learn from it. JPP, former DE of the New York Giants, did the exact same nonsense and while he continued playing, was no longer the same player and lost out on a huge, $60 mil contract. This kid was about to go on a scholarship, paid for because of his body. Why would you risk that??? Parents, teach your kids common sense. He's severely ruined his future.
It was Christmas in July for some lucky college grad that thought we wasn’t going to get a scholarship to play football. A spot just opened up. 🤙🏼

Doesn't quite work that way. The boy will certainly lose his scholarship but it's not sure when the team will rescind it. But if it gets pulled and a spot opened up, the new player would have to be a walk-on who has already gotten into that college. They would give this boy's scholarship to the walk-on later, only if that walk-on played really well next fall and earns it.
College football season starts in less than two months so the scholarship spot can't be freely given away right now.
If the scholarship is still free by the end of the season, it can be used next year's recruits or a transfer.

I heard fireworks until about 5am Friday. Some of it was too close (central Berkeley). Too dangerous, especially with dry hot weather.
Maybe there needs to be an assault ban on fireworks if people want to buy them they need to have permits no difference in assault fireworks and assault weapons

It used to be when fireworks were legal as a kid we were taught how to handle them, including bringing a bottle of water for duds. But I guess it would be unseemly these days to teach kids how to safely handle something that's illegal to begin with.

Idiots over at the park set off some fireworks sideways and they shot out at some people who are lying on a blanket. Fortunately the fireworks missed by a good margin and the people were okay but they moved because it was frightening
