Steve all those tools on your work bench gave me a flashback that I was in the electronic section of Radio Shack. The good ol' days.
HAHAHA Radio Shack . Take Care Glen.
I always enjoy your projects Steve, look forward to an update after you get to use it for a while. Cheers.
Thanks Ron 👍
This was real interesting Steve Ya know fun to go up to your camp and no power!
No power at the camp I did for years but I'm not going backwards if I can help it :) Cheers Annie
Good day eh!!! Inverters are some handy to have but a lot of people don't even think of the idle current. But like you say, the idle current can be a deal breaker sometimes. It sure is nice to go to your place, turn on the inverter and not worry about what loads you put on it or if it will kill your batteries through the night. Peace of mind is a valuable commodity!! This invertor looks like it'll provide the current and peace of mind you are looking for. Thanks for the review and for posting. Take 'er easy!!
Mike so far its a good unit . When the power goes out it's a big deal even back In the bush :)
I once had a ‘ghetto blaster’ bought from Canadian Tire when I was a teenager that had the cassette door come off and they sent it away to be fixed and it took 3 months…ugh. The warranty on this unit prevents that nonsense and you need this equipment working without issue. Thanks Steve
I'm not a CT fan at all , it's turned into a wingwang dollar store but I'll give this one a try because a real good inverter was priced 6 times this price .
Excellent review. I have a Samlex 3000w psw for 4 yrs and like you, it just quit. It's $2000 to replace here in Canada. So I just bought the 4000w Eliminator msw and am installing it this week. Wish me luck! $600.
I think you will be as impressed as I am with the ellimator. It's very quiet , the illuminated wired remote switch operates great and the voltage regulation is spot on. My 5cf fridge operates off it , no problems at all.
Great way to test the invertor operation. That will really make all the difference on battery life at your camp. My old Boss used to say Trust but Verify
Thanks Lloyd. Hopefully it lasts longer than the warranty:)
I've always ran Pure Sine Wave over a modified. But its what the user needs.
Pure is three times the price but since I don't require a pure sine wave I get by with modified nicely. Cheers Buzz
what is the draw on the battery/s at say fridge load ? if is in no use mode i use to shut mine off . in PEI i use the old standbye geny , gas bad , but will last the night during storms ... great vid , thanks
Greg I did video the fridge I'm using but at sunset my 4- 6v batteries read about 12.8 and with the fridge on all night till the sun hits the panels at 10 o'clock the battery bank reads 12.4 v .
Very good review, I just got one similar but it's Energizer brand I think same specs
Thanks 👍
Wil be setting this up in my basement with 2 batteries in parallel for back up power for my sump pump. This as a ground connection. Does it need to be grounded ? And if so how do I ground it inside my home ?
I don't use an external ground. Never use your house ground . I have never experienced a fault by not grounding the inverter.
That should make a difference, being twice the Wattage. Got enough meters there Steve? lol I'm surprised you didn't whip out an oscilloscope and an EMF Reader
I go big eh :) CT quality scares me 😅😅
Good evening Steve, you put a lots of your time setting up this video mon ami 👌😉 Great demos and great electrical technical explanations Sir 🧐👍 Have a great week and happy Thanksgiving Sir with your loves one Cheers 👍😉👌🍻
Thanks Dave , I like testing electrical components. 👍
@@SteveRobReviews You are THE BEST at it mon Ami Cheers 🧐😉👍🍻
@@RCAFpolarexpress Happy Thanksgiving buddy.
@@SteveRobReviews 😉👍🍻
Going up to feed the Bears soon Steve
Yep , I'm guaranteed to feed everything it seems 😅😅
Lol you should have a yard sell on meters lol but it looks like it well work great. Enjoy your testing videos even though some go over my head lol there are alot of people that will benefit from this video
HAHAHA thanks buddy.
Would this run a 17 ft camper? I'm looking for something just to run the lights and maybe the fridge.
Well it runs my whole camp . I pump water 12v pump a tv , 4.5 cf fridge and ceiling lights . Yep this inverter will do it all easily.
@@SteveRobReviews Great! Thank you! Will I need solar panels to run it? Right now I have a small solar panel to charge the battery but that's it.
You definitely will need a solar panel setup to keep it charged up. I have a 400w setup
Thant looks like a very good inverter Steve and the draw is not that much.....things are changing in electronics and they are getting a lot better with time.....probably made in WingWNg but as long as iit works really well.....who cares? I like it.....CHEERS
Definitely wingwang Gator and of course a wingwang price too so let's see how it does over time .
Hi Steve we have a 1100W Power Inverter and my wife wants to power her electric deep fryer. It says 1800W on the label. Will this even work?
Absolutely not !!!! You need a inverter that has a dedicated outlet like in todays video that will provide 1800w constantly.
So if it says 4000 watt which means if I run a PC which use 200 watts so does that mean a PC can run 20 hours on this fully charged inverter ?
The inverter needs to run off a battery so sizing will be from your batteries not the Capability of the inverter.
One amp isn't too bad. I have one that has about the same.
The idle draw of one amp is awesome compared to some I have tested . 👍
It would have been nice to see if you tested the output power draw to see if it did produce the 4000 watts.
Ken there is not 2 items I could ever plug into it to test the maximum 4000w . Ken I did think about it but I just don't have anything 120v that draws that much. The most I have tried was my table saw at 12amps and it ran fine .
Hey man,
Do you think can it charge a Tesla?
Thanks!
Unfortunately not
Power outage. I have this connected to my car battery, car running. I can run the furnace, sump pumps, fridge, freezer, TV, wifi, ps5, few lights. The only thing I can't get to work is my gas water heater! Any tips?
Does your gas water heater have a 120v power vent or a traditional vented chimney ?
@@SteveRobReviews I think it must be a power vent
It almost worked a couple times. The fan came on but it didn't ignite and faulted out
I suspect it has a ground monitoring circuit that looks for a ground before its able to turn on like many digital furnaces. Lots of inverters and gensets won't run many items with ground detecting circuits.
@@SteveRobReviews Is there a way around this? Also, I don't have the unit grounded
I have 1100 watts inverter make power box from it its
a lot of test sets to do basicly the same
Yes absolutely 👍
