We recently added the last peice of needed equipment to our ranch truck by adding a cake feeder. We have a great relationship with a local company, 3C Cattle Feeders. A safer and easier way to feed the bison. The bison love the new cake feeder. It makes them happy to see the ranch truck in their pasture. Brooks and I also started a wikd turkey operation by starting 6 Rio Grande turkey eggs in our incubator. We will eventually have 30 turkey eggs total once the other come in. Happy Easter everyone!

A woman i worked with told me her folks used to raisie domestic turkeys..She said they were so stupid that if it rains they will bunch up somewhere and open up their beaks and drown if you don’t get them out of the rain. Is that true? . or a tall tale? .

Good luck on the turkeys. Hilarie, over on "Just a Few Acres Farm" has a system she's using since there's a high rate of losing the hatchlings for turkeys. She rarely loses 'em now that she's figured it all out.
LOVE Just a Few Acres! I love how they raise their Dexters and chickens and fixing old tractors LOL! Can't wait to see how they will do for gardens this year!

Cora has a piece of my heart ❤ We had a lot of turkeys in our suburban Long Island neighborhood. Four miles spend a significant amount of time in our backyard. They have learned to knock on our backdoor with their beaks because they know we'll feed them some peanuts!

feeder is great addition but you should still shake the bag before giving them cubes, just like lunch bell. This will keep them trained and you can move them around easily

This is random but my favorite animals are Bison and this just makes my day.
Brooks is getting SO big!! And more beautiful every day, just like her momma. I love that you're going to try to get the turkey population going. We have a flock of 8 females and 4 big males that live in my immediate area. They are quite entertaining, visit our bird feeders between 7am-8am almost every day and from their go over the fence into our neighbors garden area. Did you know that a female lays 1 egg each day for 10 days? Also, did you know when the males are courting their heads turn white? Each year we love seeing the new babies come stumble/running thru the property chasing the momma. We only ever have 1 batch of babies so I don't know where the other mommas take their babies. Its such fun to watch the babies grow up. Last year's babies are now being courted by those big males. Another month or so & we should be seeing a new group emerge from the woods. I do wish you luck in growing the turkey population.

'bout time-- glory be. Much safer for sure. The up and close personal with the herd is nice some times but safety first. Bet you do the old timey way some times for fun. Big Joe kept looking at you for more as you were talking and looking back at the shoot. Like a kid waiting at the gumball machine. Brooks is getting to do and learn so much. Wish every child could live on a working ranch for a couple of summers. Her language skills are up there. Very expressive face too as she talked to her Daddy. Happy Easter you all.

There is a great documentary on CZcams about a guy who raises a clutch of wild turkey eggs through to maturity. The window on the natural world that was opened by having the local fauna accept him as just another animal mom was amazing. The title is something like my life as a turkey. I think your family'd like it a lot.

The new Bison feeder is amazing! We are excited to see you trying to raise wild turkeys. Up here in North Idaho we have wild Turkey flocks! So neat to see them feeding in the fields. We were even surprised by a visit last fall to our apartment complex! We sat inside and watched them eat right in front of our home!

Love the side feeder! We are hatching chickens in our classrooms. The kiddos love seeing them hatch and grow.

This is great to feed the bison 👍👏👏 last night on French TV I watched a very interesting documentary on the history of the North American Bison through the ages... Very sad but really fascinating how the natives and the bison shared the American plains for thousands years.. They showed the museum in Oklahoma and other meetic places to honor the bison..
